  1. On allure they are the central park ending in 29. They extend past the stewards storage which had some noise. It's a trade off.
  2. I'm on oasis march 12. Maybe we cruise together? I just did the same ports and it was 81 to 85 in the 3 ports. Colder when we boarded and disembarked. We had some hard rain one morning, but it didnt last long.
  3. Has it changed then? I did 4 legs on grandeur and WJ alternated hours with the cafe. Maybe they were short staffed and now it's open. Have you done grandeur recently?
  4. Only the buffet will be open and crowded. Later when we were on it, it alternated with the cafe where the pizza was being open. One or the other. The coffee bar had a few things to eat.
  5. I've also noticed Chops the full price is cheaper on radiance than on my other ships. Not a bad price? Wish they still had surf and turf, though I like steak ok.
  6. When I put in my discounts, balcony was cheaper for me than a inside, and the cheapest balcony was a ocean view balcony. I wish I could book, but my mom needs me, plus I still have covid I cant shake I brought home from allure. And if you live in texas, there is a texas discount. ..probably others, but I used texas. The last one is with my discounts, solo price for a ov balcony.
  7. I didnt like vista was smaller theater and comedy club but I did love JiJis. I would go there one night. It's worth the extra price. Better than chops and cheaper. I've done vista twice, before and after covid. I also got the lobster rolls twice and made a dinner out of them, from the seafood place.
  8. First so negative I've read. I've been looking forward to jubilee. I'm waiting for a last minute sailing once it finally arrives. I'm not that picky about cabins, and as you say just want to relax.
  9. Allure. I'm not sure of the difference. My friend took their family of 10. The noodle dish she said used to fill her up now was cut. Her husband had ramen. She just was disappointed that portions were cut so significantly. We were on the week of dec 11.
  10. I booked for Columbia for 27.99. I cant take a taxi most places solo for that. Originally 44.99. I booked some 30% off very cheap last sept. Seems to vary by date. Sometimes lately rcl sales when they are that cheap I book rather than mess with a taxi. Imo rcl is slanting toward excursions where you spend money. They only had 3 to the locks for Panama, top was $99., with 35%. Half a day at the locks and half in some city sightseeing and eating, spending money. We were disappointed none spend the whole day seeing the locks. Carnival on the other hand does offer a whole excursion seeing the locks for a much higher $169. Rcl seems to be aiming more toward cheap ones where you spend $$$, but gets you off the ship cheap. My $27.99 columbia excursion takes me to old town to some emerald museum. And to see jewelry. I wanted to see old town specifically so signed up. Rcl has changed since covid what's offered. I see it as a divergence. If I can get excursions for under $30 I like I'll buy. Buying for all 5 new carnival ports would cost me more than I want to spend. I'll go private. It also makes a small difference that rcl offers me 2 free days of wifi and 5 free drinks a day. I like carnival but it's not the value for me it used to be. I just booked 8 day harmony inside balcony for under 1k oct 2024. I cant book carnival dream 8 day under 1k. Carnival makes it hard to choose when their prices are higher and less included.
  11. Email mbayley@rccl.com and lay it out clearly. What you are owed and the math.
  12. I'm disappointed izumi cut the orders so much. I can buy a lot of sushi here for $5 wednesday sushi day. I didnt mind $13 for a large order onboard but cutting it from 8 pieces to 4 is half. And other dishes cut way back allure dec 11.
  13. I have the 14 day booked on dream with new ports to me but was shocked at carnivals excursion prices. I have booked some excursions for 2 of those ports on radiance at the black friday rcl sale at 35% off. Never thought rcl would be cheaper than carnival. I want both ncl prima and carnival jubilee but going to wait and hope last minute prices drop. Rcl harmony inside balcony is cheaper for me than either carnival or ncl. I do get rcl discounts for loyalty the others dont give. Still waiting to book jubilee and prima. But I want both. Carnival seems to be getting expensive vs rcl for me. Hard to pay extra. I'm in the same spot as OP, not wanting to pay extra for carnival.
  14. Carnival vista costs more than my sept allure ... carnival from Galveston prices are UP imo. A inside on jubilee is at least $1200 and up. Watching prices as I'd like both prima or jubilee. I'm not especially loyal to royal, the prices are just better for me. As long as rcl is cheaper it wins for me as more budget friendly. Flying to miami next spring break and that's enough for me, otherwise I avoid holidays and kids as much as possible.
  15. If you each get 2 free days wouldnt that be 4 total not 6. Not following your math.
  16. If fact on my cruise last week I know I had a letter about not being allowed to bring friends into the diamond lounge. Might still have the letter, but our diamond lounge was already overflowing.
  17. You can call and pick your perks but my experience is due to supply issues they might substitute random wine for what you picked. I'm getting random wine or champagne. I asked for fruit truffles. Some of the other depends on how many pinnacles are onboard. We had 179 pinnacles on allure dec 4th and they did not have access to the suite lounge and could book one lunch and one dinner in ck. Idk about breakfast or what ship you are asking about. With 179 pinnacles some of the suite perks that pinnacles get were cut back. You can do suite perks if only a few pinnacles. .. the name of the ship might tell people more answers. Pinnacles do get 6 anywhere any time drinks and free wifi.
  18. You had $600 obc and could have done pay restaurants since the Mdr wasnt as good. That's actually what I did on my last vista. I agree about smaller spaces but it was known ahead of time. Theater and comedy club are smaller and deck 5 closed in. I got off allure sunday with positive covid. B2b so I'm sure I got it the first week. Got tested onboard negative but I knew it was positive. Just saved rcl some money. I'm still positive over a week later. It could be any ship. Its winter and going around. I'm triple shot, being vaccinated doesnt stop it. Going back to vaccinated ships wouldnt help. Saying you had $600 to spend and then not spending it on upgraded food to me cant complain. Lots of threads about quality being cut in Mdr. Prices are up and what you get for it down everywhere, not just carnival. I agree about dinner Mdr. Sometimes you have to upgrade yourself. It's not as good as pre covid ... anywhere. Maybe they a higher end cruiseline. I see some trying princess and celebrity.
  19. Galveston didnt have a separate line outside for suites. However once inside which took a while, they were called first with key and hc.
  20. I've had it since sunday of last week. I felt a little better a couple days later in the week and then woke up congested again and dont feel like I'm improving. Coughing all night.
  21. I brought the gift of covid home from allure so I cant go anywhere. My mom was really counting on me to take care of things. No such luck. Cant be around her. Supposed to be 10 degrees by morning but no snow, clear.
  22. I didnt say there were no birds on any ships. The article was about allure specifically. And I just got off 2 weeks on allure. ... the fact someone saw a bird on oasis doesnt mean there were birds the last 2 weeks on allure. .. if there were they sure werent happy at 40 degrees when we got in last sunday. Next sunday will be rough on any birds again. Texas is cold. Actually I've seen more than one bird that got trapped on a ship.
  23. I looked pretty hard and never saw any real birds. ..and I looked for them. I just got off sunday after 2 weeks.
  24. I made reservations for 4 shows on allure Halloween night for dec dates. So within the 45 days after you sign in. Not sure exact date they open but I heard on the first of the previous month.
