I just got off dream 14 days. We had what I'd call a elderly crowd and 19 kids. I didnt smell any weed and if they were smoking I'd have picked it up. Food was much better than what I had on harmony. Maybe because it was a journey cruise and expensive but food was good. I did miracle to alaska as a journey cruise and all those old people would get chairs in the buffet and line up on both sides to watch from the buffet with binoculars. We did have a naturalist etc and it was my favorite cruise but dream a close second. I'm diamond finally on carnival. Not a newbie opinion. I have 503 pts on royal and have ncl princess and celebrity also as to my background when I say quit worrying. Those longer more expensive cruises are not where the partying is. Or fighting.

I'd never heard of this. I'm diamond finally and was asking how I get my 1 free drink the last sea day and got all kinds of answers. Bar tenders seem totally confused. I just wanted a Pepsi. At dinner another diamond ordered a drink a kiss on the lips and wasnt charged.

Making money on a trade is NOT the same as ccl as a company making a profit. I'm hoping you actually do know the difference. If ccl was making a profit they would have a pe. A price earnings multiple. I live off my stocks .. and have invested for over 50 years. .. it's important to know what a pe is or a peg. I'd like carnival to come out with when it will turn a profit. Yes keep paying off that debt. I'm still holding quite a bit of ccl. I have faith long term but I do know what it means for a stock to turn a profit vs loss. If you dont stick to small amounts and do some studying. CNBC will certainly be covering rcl when they report. Listen in if you are home. Maybe your comment was meant as humor. I make my living doing this.

Just a thing that cracked me up. Royal got so bent out of shape when asked about pay pizza options. Carnival I love their thin crispy pizza for one. This wasnt the best, but I like their white pizza with a thin crispy crust. 4 kinds of cheese and I ask for pepperoni which is always more than rcl puts on. They make each from scratch. . Anyway the funny thing is they added 2 kinds of pizza you can pay for. Never saw them ordered but never saw carnival posters go nuts at adding a new option. Carnival has a $5 and $6 new pizzas offered. Not a clue what a Korean pizza is and another. It's there if someone wants to pay and no one is complaining the way royal posters do. I've always believed royal posters just are a whiny complaining group of posters vs what I see on carnival. True i thought carnival food this last cruise was a 8 or 9, royal lately a 5 or 6. Carnival is busy upping their food and rcl cutting. And i was on a special 14 day journey cruise.,.. so maybe that's also why the food was extra good and not a fair comparison. The food rocked. My white pizza, just cheese and pepperoni and no sauce I cant get on royal. I hate royals pizza. Tried it once in 3 weeks on harmony. Dont assume just because royal posters are are posting all lines are cutting it's true. I ordered this 3 times, a few times too much cheese, I like crisp thin crust and no sauce. .. just thought it was hilarious carnival added 2 pay pizza options and they arent even in a uproar like royal posters. Try some other lines you might enjoy the change.

I was just amazed they offered a last minute shuttle for $9.99. Cheapest ever excursion.

I just got off dream yesterday and was told the last night in Mdr you get a free drink. The girl ordered and got a drink and wasnt charged. Anyone else ever hear of this?

Rcl also is almost identical to carnival for obc for either royal or celebrity. The difference is rcl stock is making a profit unlike ccl and ncl. Has a pe, price earnings ratio. Earnings have been so good people are ho hum, expected. I'm in and out. I buy and sell but havent held. Currently only 100 shares at 122ish this last trade. Big difference buying a $17 stock and a $122 stock even if you just buy turn in proof and then sell. Earnings I think are scheduled for feb 1. Usually gives the sector a bounce. And icon just started to sail at sky high prices. They seem to have what families will pay any crazy prices for. Icon class is what I mean by crazy and they already announced star is next icon class and utopia still coming which will be the last oasis class.

Not sure if this was covered earlier. Last time I did colon Panama did the worst ever excursion and we ended up at the Agua Clara visitor centre for the locks where you can watch them move a ship up a lock etc. We only were given 1 hour and you have to go down and up and wait and 1 hour wasnt enough. Anyway... so I didnt schedule again. About 10:30 am they announced a last minute shuttle to this visitors centre for $9.99. Had I felt better and eaten breakfast I would have jumped on it. I suspect you had to pay a entrance fee that wasnt covered by the shuttle. But if anyone ever does a similar cruise, listen for last minute excursion offers. 9.99 to see the canal imo was a awesome deal. Spend more time there and not feel rushed? I was sitting up in the buffet and timing was bad. $9.99 what a deal imo. Last minute shuttle to canal visitors centre.

I was there during spring break and didnt notice lines for the tram where I boarded. Sat on a bench until it came and got on. I mostly minded the dirty bathrooms full of sand. No way to go in without feeling dirty when I came out. Needed more cleaning. But no problem with lines. I was on oasis. Not very experienced and went to a far away beach looking for a funnel cake really more than a beach. At most 4 or 5 people in front of me to get funnel cake and I got a fresh hot chicken sandwich. I guess it varys how many ships in port that day? I didnt notice lines.

I've seen several TAs advertising in the 3k range for insides and even balconys. Take a walk on the wild side and ask a ta about group prices. I think it's silly to compare published prices which no one I know is paying. They cant all be making up those prices or maybe they are last minute but I'm seeing prices much lower than published. I think 3k is a lot ... dont get me wrong but comparing published prices is just so people can complain. Not serious.

There is a shuttle from the ship down the pier to a central tram place. There you board a tram which will stop along the island. I didnt see any easy walking places where I was, but maybe the pool? The snack shack at I think called south beach was close to the tram. I sat on a regular picnic table, not one of those loungers in the sand.

Actually I disagree. I cannot get 25% almost all categories on those cabins or 2 pts a day. Rcl has solo cabins. I'm not looking for a small solo cabin or solo events. I'm looking for the best solo price. MSC does have better prices for all but I dont like Italian food so havent booked and ncl is certainly way more expensive than I can book with DP340 on rcl. Rcl DP340 beats ncl by a mile. And I can get the discount on the cabin of my choice. Not a teensy solo cabin. I've priced ncl. Not a deal for me. Rcl was less.

When I left yesterday back of buffet still closed. People in balconies deck 9 aft all had water coming thru their ceilings. Going to take a lot to dry all the water damage up I saw. Easy for someone not there to say no big damage. Pretty extensive what I saw. Just money I guess to you to replace broken lo gets and dividers and ceilings and other furniture. I've been on 75 to 100 cruises I'd guess and this is the worst I've ever seen. And I've been thru hurricanes. I'm diamond on carnival.

I was on my 14 day dream journey cruise. We hit the same thing. I was sitting comfortably mid ship deck 5 when our captain announced we had to return to our cabins. Not sure how long we stayed but seemed to me more dangerous to make a lot of elderly get up walk at a angle to get back to their cabins. While I'm sure it might be someones idea of fun, being locked in my cabin not exactly fun. Deck 10 aft and back buffet had water and I saw a river of water across deck 5, I'm sure there are videos of it. One tablemate said the balcony divider gone and the connecting cabin door was open to his neighbor. Buffet opened 30 minutes late and guys burgers stayed open all night I saw. One guy said 175 cruises and never before told to go to his cabin. Me either. Oddly by sunset the sun was out. I just saw a voyager pax asking if rcl was issuing refunds. Luckily lots missed the ship due to the artic blast came in since we boarded jan 13. Ours was a 14 day cruise. Ours was mostly elderly who take these journey cruises. 1600 plat and diamond their 2 highest levels. Supposedly to have our drink party 2:30 we missed and got a $25 obc. Only voyager I see pax asking for refunds. We only had 19 kids. Ours was a very very elderly group they made go to our cabins. I have some pictures of the lightening which are awesome but cant post to cc. The lighting and thunder was pretty awesome. Couldnt believe my eyes a river of water across deck 5. Some num nuts crew or wind blew a door open to guys pig and anchor right outside which was what I was having for lunch when it hit. Glad I didnt have a inside cabin to be locked in. Even less my idea of fun. Captain got worried when we took on water and wanted us near our life vests. When the wind died to 45 to 55 knots, whatever that is, is when they let us out of our cabins. First time in 20 years ever had to be sent to my cabin. It would have been more fun if I could be out and about seeing it. Show and bands cancelled also not exactly fun, interesting. Supposed to have been a throw back to 50s party, nope. Fun is seeing the storm.

I want the double pts which as mentioned you dont get if you put in a fake 2nd pax. Last year I pushed to 340 pts. Find a ta, group, plus balcony discount plus 25% off as a solo. No other line offers me 25% off perk as a solo. Though no other line I've booked wouldnt let me book a regular gty cabin. Pisses me off. Why would rcl not allow gty for solo? It's never made sense to me. Lucky I found a good ta or I'd be gone from rcl by now.

I took a 1st time cruiser I think was vista. That really loud banging sound we had the first couple of nights, on vista was every 90 seconds, for 3 nights.,she is a never again on carnival. That was the worst noise I've been thru. This cruise that banging wasnt as often more intermittent and only first couple of nights. I thought it was me in aruba. I felt like I was dying I was so hot, no breeze. Curacao I was supposed to feed the ostriches. I'm still so mad at myself. Usually the ticket says meet at this time and then you get in line and leave later. That one said meet at 9, bus departed promptly at 9. Everyone said it was fun and good reviews. I booked adventure OTS april 2025 at a too high of a price for ABC. Cheaper later this year but I'm trying to move to florida. Need time. I keep telling myself next year the ostriches will still be there. Next 2 busses leaving at 930 were turtle farm and beach or sea and see. Sea and see it was. $10 extra. At least carnival was nice enough that I was allowed to change when I missed the bus. Kudos to carnival right? Trying to not beat myself up. Though I am mad at myself. If anyone wants a review of sea and see .. and I did the jungle train in costa Rica and birds in Columbia.

Ocean plaza = promenade? Yes. First I saw 2 crew members go out the door during the storm and come back with towels. I thought what the heck? Over on the starboard side. I think the door opened on the port side where the bbq was is where the water came from. Not sure if someone opened a door or the wind. But I heard the door came open over by the bbq. But 2 crew deliberately opened the doors on the opposite side during the sideways rain. I saw them open the doors. I was reading a account of voyager ots and they had some casino machines topple. And booze. They kept the bar open but only served canned beer. Some girl was in her cabin and freaked and called customer service for help. Panic attacks. They came and calmed her down. Offered to move her cabin to a higher deck. On dream security had to be called to get people to leave the casino. Dont know why they couldnt just shut the machines down rather than call security. This wasnt the best time for the cheap seats. Hahahaha. I was deck 2, 1A porthole. I tried to get pictures while I was stuck in my cabin. I was 3 cabins from the front of the ship. I got all the motion. I was better off midship but noooo. Walk all the way forward and stay in your cabin. Hahahahaha. Got quite a bit of motion this cruise for sure. Out of costa rico rocky too. I brought mosquito spray and a poncho for the jungle train. That poncho was like a sauna. Ripped it off in 5 minutes, I'd rather be wet. Pretty awesome cruise overall. I'd rate my food 8 or 9. Last cruise on harmony 5 or 6. Though the watermelon wasnt very good they still had honeydew which rcl cut out. Dream ran out of fancy lettuce the last couple of days I noticed. I love arugula so much and it was on the salad bar at least one day. Count me in as a fan of the new carnival menu mostly. Deck 2 port hole. Water was hitting my port hole but taking a picture of water covering my port hole looks like nothing lol. Down in the cheap seats lol. When I booked only 1 other port hole left, deck 1 against the bulk head, at least I'm 3 back and deck 2.

Same. Also izumi sushi fixed menu same exact. I've eaten in there often.

I havent added a photo last 2 years, maybe 15 cruises. Useless imo too. Not required, why add it. They always take a new photo for me too. Just skip when you get there. I check the box ok to use for boarding or whatever, not the full release.

Request one. They have no way of knowing if you are bringing your own or what.

I was surprised at the lack of bands scheduled the whole last sea day. Nothing was even scheduled in the afternoon and that was before we hit the storm. The day before maybe late I saw a one man band in the centrum I wondered if someone missing. I had been following the band southern voice and really loving their sound though they need a better repertoire. I asked for a line dance and he promised one night. Never came. I said did you forget? He said they played a fast number but hate to repeat songs. They played some favorite 3 days before. So I went the next day, still none. He said oh he didnt see me in the audience. They were newly formed and this was their first gig. From south Africa lol but had that texas twang. I thought they had the best sound but as I said I grew up in texas. These guys had a book of songs they sang to with over 700 songs. I talked to the guitar player several times. I'd like some line dances for us solo women. Not just couples dances. Never heard one and I listened to them a lot. I had a girl at my Mdr table who hates texas. I kinda pulled back and she said see I didnt say I hate the people just texas. But it's her closest port. Hard not to react when someone keeps saying they hate texas. .. but dont take it personally. She was from Kansas or someplace cold.

I've had lobster rolls and asked for butter not mayo, just lobster with butter on them. Twice and for me was worth it. Someone on cc told me ask for butter, not the ready made up stuff mixed with that mayo type stuff. I never tried the fried stuff. $18 on dream I just got off. The fried mixed fish platter was $20.

I didnt know that only way to get a self disembark number was now on the hub app. They did say it's new. So about last Wednesday maybe I asked guest services for a number. Nope. You can to do it yourself on the app. A unhappy with me staff logged into my hub app and said group A all full group B. Ok this morning got sweet rolls from the front of the buffet. Back of the buffet was still locked up tight from water damage I guess. Went back to my cabin. Hauling myself down the haul and a staff says there is a disembark from deck 2, midship... just go there and so off i went. Didnt have to wait in scarlet dining room deck 4. I'm slow and got outside about 7 and turned on my phone for the first time all cruise to call my shuttle who had a little trouble finding me but after stopping for coffee at the hotel and off I went close to 8 am. Considering I was originally supposed to get off by 730 awesome . ...royal also didnt use facial for my cruise last april. I am not sure it's the terminal to blame. I think it's the ports we went to though everyone yelled at royal too. They both checked our passports but couldnt have been better on and off. I'm the dork who missed one of my excursions. Wound up doing the submarine and just was charged the difference. Carnival did the best they could. My fault. Not theirs ... but if anyone ever misses a excursion, lol I got experience. I still want to do my excursion I booked and hoping next april I can try again as I have ABC islands booked april 2025. My fault. Not carnivals I liked some of the new foods. I might be tired of rcl food but it was really nice.

Ha. I was sitting deck 5 along the wall perfectly comfortably when the river of water washed across where the bars are. In all my cruises I have never heard of a captain telling everyone to walk to their cabins. Walked at a 45 degree angle they the casino. I heard they called security to make gamblers stop. They didnt turn off the slot machines. They just made everyone get up and leave. Seemed safer to sit where I was than have to get to my cabin. (To get our sea jackets?) .. was wondering what you thought. I kinda looked around for you but never figured out who you were. A poor guy at my Mdr table lost big, I'd guess over $5000 but he quit telling us it got so bad. Hes having to move savings to pay it off so it was a lot. It was a surprising nice cruise overall though I missed my free 5 drinks and wifi on rcl. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Food over all was good. I got the $25 credit for missing the party due to being stuck in my cabin. I'll go back 2nd read your review when I'm less tired.

Good night from me too. Its freezing cold here and so windy. Miserable day so didnt enjoy Galveston. I did check into the hotel behind a older gentleman who has 500 pts with carnival and like me disappointed in no priority boarding. Idk if there is 60% priority do it. He said his next cruise will be on rcl. Hes tired of carnival taking away his perks. Lots of us here on dream. Dont know if they booked here because I posted which hotel I booked with parking or what, but I'd say 25 or so some on jubilee and mostly on dream. He said the upside is no kids with these journey cruises lol. Agree. That shuttle needs to be bigger for all this carnival crowd. Lots of us here tonight in this windy cold. Bring on the 85 degree weather. I'm cold tonight. Not Galveston at it's best. Agree it's good you came in Honolulu blue. Lots of flights cancelled. Even dallas cancelled due to high winds this morning. Hope everyone flying in made it.
