  1. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Even if it was Caribbean some friends made it special.
  2. Just a change of food and the new menus was fun. New choices though I felt like a newbie. Well I sure wished for a breeze in aruba. Too hot, the weather wasnt fantastic. Lol perfect weather and cooler would have been nice.3 or 4 times more elevators was a novelty. Softer and nicer mattresses nicer. Doesnt hurt to change it up but now back to rcl and moving.
  3. I just got off carnival dream and we docked in colon and a passport was required. Almost 1500 missed the ship. True there was a artic blast weather wise but I think some missed the memo that a passport was required to board. We had thread after thread for over a year with know it alls saying its not required on closed loop. Ooops. Carnival waited until 3 days before our final payment to send a email required. Made for a quiet ship so many missed the ship. Odd as it was sold out early on until carnival told us passport required.
  4. Odd as my experience with carnival excursions was the opposite. Never any sales. I wait for black friday on rcl and booked at 30% this past time and one 25%. The year before 35% off. Beat carnivals exact same excursions by a few bucks. I loved my carnival journey cruise but hated paying full price. Rcl pre sales win. Only sale I saw was buy a excursion get 10% off wifi. Please give a example of this 60% cheaper excursion as I saw no sales and I was watching. Missed rcl pre sales big time. Carnivals pre sales are full price. In fact I missed one and they let me chea ge over to another for $10 difference. ...save nothing by purchasing ahead confirmed. I just turned diamond on carnival so I'm not a newbie either. Great you got some deals and will enjoy them but that part isnt factual. You can do better prices on rcl excursions. Show me just one example. I saw none. And I got off carnival dream last Saturday. Pre sales on rcl win.
  5. That's, lucky. I'm assuming Voyager was sold out as they offered 30% fcc to stay in your cabin which might smell like mildew or a refund and fcc to cruise late. I didnt have any danger. Got $25 obc still nice.
  6. Usually around a year in advance. No set time as they start coming in. Some sooner, some later. I have Voyager may 2025 to europe with a add on leg, so I'm watching too.
  7. I'm not fussy about cabins. Where do you want to go out of? Harmony has cheaper balconies inside view than mariner out of Galveston. I'm on mariner the one and only 7 days when it arrives in Galveston.. ports arent exciting but new ship to me but then it's doing 4 and 5 days. Harmony frankly was cheaper. I think because its Mariners maiden voyage out of texas. I've got adventure booked out of pc later in the year 8 days then 6 days. What cabin I'd book depends on the ship. On older ships there are a lot of connecting promenade cabins. Newer oasis class for me inside view, I like boardwalk balconies.
  8. I just got off a 14 day cruise on carnival, albeit a special cruise. Balconys start about 6k unless you get a casino invite. We only had 19 kids. These are designed for better more interesting ports. Imo food beat rcl hands down. The new menu items from emeril were very good. They are improving their Mdr menus for dinner while rcl cuts back. Mongolian bbq free at lunch and Italian and I love their pizza. Dont like rcl pizza. Did the deli 3 lunches. They still have honeydew and stuff rcl has cut. If you are a family yes rcl appeals, but I can see why people also do carnival. Better food. New improved menus. As long as rcl gives solos a deal I'm here but I enjoyed my 14 day cruise on carnival. Aruba curacao columbia costa rica and panama. Not a cheap cruise. But it was nice and almost no kids. Those new ships mardi gras class arent cheap either. I know rcl folks want to feel superior but for me it's a matter of price and perks.
  9. CNBC interviewed rcl ceo and was asked about suez canal. It was mentioned carnival warned it would affect earnings. Darn. Rcl said they onky have a few smaller ships affected ( including the 9 month world tour I have friends on). Well that subject didnt go over well with traders. I'm still bullish long term. Touchy subject.
  10. Every ship I've been on had different bogo rules.
  11. I woukdnt with a glass of milk that can tip and not sealed. As above I saw containers that dispensed choc and regular milk, no cartons up in the WJ. I was on nov 26 dec 3 and dec 10. No cartons. A open glass on top of ice could tip.
  12. It's against the law for rcl to ask what someone disability it. Hippa and all that stuff.
  13. I leave drinks in my fridge all the time. No freezer but keeps drinks cool enough for me. I noticed rcl now has chocolate and regular milk in a dispenser instead of in individual cartons my last time on harmony. Its served all meals.
  14. I found nothing this last release except the ta to europe that I was willing to lay for, so I maybe not booking more for a while either. Theres no way I'm paying what people are quoting. Nothing I have booked is over $2k. Though getting closer and closer. By the time my 2 legs of my TA are done I figure over 5k by the time I fly home .. and maybe then some more $$$, depending how long I stay in rome later but I booked nothing else except a oasis group cruise. My TA said oasis was cheaper than adventure out of PC. So I agree. Used to be able to find stuff during hurricane season $100 a day. Not any more. I'm definitely paying more and more and then more each time I book.
  15. Royal has group rates from many TAs that many of us, plus balcony discount plus DP340 for me as a solo. For me often royal comes out less expensive, not more. I never book at the price on the site. All of mine are refundable group rates. Maybe it depends on your loyalty level but a balcony for me on harmony was $300 less than a inside on jubilee. I know this has been posted over and over again get a TA with geoup rates. Carnival gives me nothing off as a solo. I agree prices are thru the roof but imo so are carnivals prices. I'm booked on adventure, harmony, marine, wonder, utopia and then voyager TA plus a extra leg on voyager for another 10 days. Some of mine are balconys, though boardwalk or park view. Oasis class has more balconys so more reasonably priced. Everyone is different for me as a solo, royal is usually a best fit. I just came back from a really nice 14 day journey cruise on carnival so I dont have anything against them but not willing to pay $200 a day when on rcl I get my 5 free drinks and 2 days of wifi. I missed my perks. I only need to book 14 more days of royal to hit pinnacle I kept thinking as I was doing my carnival cruise.
  16. I saw the interview. They also asked him about suez canal how it would affect rcl. Still kinda surprised its selling off. He seemed to say less impact than carnival who warned it would impact earnings.
  17. I've read some of those threads. Stay in same cabin which might smell like mildew for 30% off or wait and take another cruise and full fcc and redund. Problem is some got the letter after they flew into Galveston so not happy to hear so late. As I said earlier it was a really bad storm. I'm was on carnival dream and last night someone posted a movie of water sloshing across the aft. Pretty deep. Ceilings below all were soaked. Wind was pushing us then suddenly swung around and hit from the side, pushing our ship sideways. I was on gr sur when it went sideways and everything in WJ toppled, so not sure which was worse, but this was I big electric storm for sure. And the wind changed so sudden. I read the rcl letter with offers. People dont know what to do when I was reading it, already flew into Galveston.
  18. One name has to stay the same but sounds ,like it could work from what you said.
  19. As I predicted, rcl earnings would give the sector a bump. Anyone buy ahead of rcl earnings? Ccl 17.11 so far this morning, hopefully keeps going. https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/CCL?p=CCL&.tsrc=fin-srch Everyone knew rcl would again blow earnings out of the water. .. sector will be up today. Premarket
  20. There are several attached articles on earnings this morning. Premarket 132 ish so far. https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/RCL?p=RCL&.tsrc=fin-srch
  21. Sure just sign in when you are ready to use your days. When you sign in the discount pops up.
  22. Says up to 12 bottles or cans up to 17 oz. Carry on only. So it's your choice. I think I misunderstood. Are you asking if they have bottles or cans. I get bottles of water in my cabin. Some no name brand. There my be some brand at bars I'm not aware of. I also use my vouchers for bottles of vitamin water.
  23. Lol except for pinnacle right? I cant marry my way to pinnacle or am I wrong. D+ so I think I'm stuck doing it the old fashioned way.
  24. And for me the biggest benefit is still the wifi. I dont hardly drink. Fresh oj nice but wifi bigger to me. The reason I'd want pinnacle is for free wifi the whole cruise.
