  1. Eeek tapioca and semolina!! I never thought I'd see them again. Awful memories of school dinners 🀒. I'll be frankly appalled if I see them on a Viking ship.
  2. I almost wish Viking did serve grits just to see what they/it was/were but, based on description here, I really can't see me liking the texture.
  3. It's like you're talking a foreign language! πŸ™‚
  4. Hmmmm. Not sure I fancy grits! I'm not keen on the texture of polenta. I do enjoy a good breakfast. Fresh fruit and yoghurt, maybe a couple of poached eggs and lots of lovely crisp brown toast and butter. On our last cruise (not on Viking) we used to order early morning coffee, fruit juice and croissants on our balcony and watch the sail in to wherever we were going. The sail in to Kotor in Croatia was wonderful.
  5. Fruit juice and that sort of thing
  6. Thank you. We'll stick with water.
  7. We don't like fizzy drinks at all. In DV so what might we have?
  8. @anaco_angler thanks. I have a supply of 'Stugeron' tablets and have bought Sea Bands. I'll certainly seek out the green apples and ginger. I was fine on our last sea cruise apart from a short while one morning. Fingers crossed. Meanwhile it's blowing a gale here in Scotland.
  9. I can get seasick in a bath! I saw a video posted on FB of current sailing conditions. Sunny weather but big waves!
  10. Oh no. I'm getting more and more sure that I'll be spending my time lying groaning on the bed! I've got every anti seasick method already piled up and ready to pack. 😟
  11. I don't think it's just a matter of compensation though. I value this initial post as it seems an important issue to highlight. Viking needs to know about these seriously sub standard excursions and that Viking guests expect better. I think that the poster is looking for some reassurance that his valid complaints have been heeded and, perhaps, changes made.
  12. What a relief for you to be on calm seas. Hope early would be good too.
  13. Can you be done for drug smuggling of anti seasickness pills? If so I might be at risk!πŸ˜ƒ
  14. I had a problem with the patches so can't use them. Will have to be the tablets for me or even those sea band things.
  15. Oh 🀒 wish we weren't booked on it next month!
  16. 100 mile an hour winds and 60 foot waves!! Eek.
  17. Apparently the passengers due to board next are being accommodated overnight in London and will board a day late. Amsterdam will be missed out and they'll be given 150 dollars OBC. Viking managing everything very well.
  18. Interesting re sight vs camera view. Will hope to be as lucky as you on our cruise (although hoping to avoid the bad weather of course)
  19. We loved this cruise. An unexpected highlight was the evening jazz cruise in Copenhagen. I don't know if it's still on though.
  20. Ok @Iloveketo. I don't know about the washer dryers on board but with my machine I set the programme according to what's being washed, set spin speed then set drying times and press to go. I'll attach a photo of my machine. It's not very good as I can't get far enough back to get the whole control panel in. Galley kitchen!
  21. This forum is to discuss cruising rather than laundry machinery which obviously vary enormously from country to country. Looks like UK/Europeans have different machines.
  22. Oh dear. We'll have to bring converter plug ins for our forthcoming cruise on Venus.
