  1. That was in response to @Jim Avery. They must have different machines in America. That's all I can think of to explain your complaints. Perhaps wily manufacturers make more profit by selling two machines for the one function?
  2. Literally never happens with ours. Just not a problem. These are very common machines here.
  3. @Iloveketo yes. I simply put the clothes in the machine, switch it on and go and do something more interesting. This is at home. As I said, I'd never go back to two bulky machines taking up space. I don't do laundry on board so can't comment on the machines there.
  4. We have a washer dryer here at home. It's excellent. I would never go back to having two separate machines.
  5. Embraers are terrific. I'm always pleased to find that's what we'll be flying in. I'm sure you'll be more than happy in it. Quite small but powerful.
  6. We're in UK. No automatic insurance being added. Flights, drinks and tips included in price. Suits us. We've had reason to feel well looked after by Viking.
  7. Oh dear. What an onslaught of bad luck. You deserve a good relaxing rest. We're on the Venus in March. Please look after the ship for us!
  8. Both sound good thanks. Were booked for the Northern Lights cruise in March. Not looking forward to the North Sea. 😟
  9. Just that really. I know the answer to seasickness is to sit under a tree! However, I love the Viking ocean ships and the whole experience on board and wondered if there was an itinerary that's in calmer waters.
  10. I had the 'too many redirections' message for another website. Google what to do and follow the instructions. It worked for me. Good luck.
  11. On our last cruise on Azamara we often found ourselves wishing we were on a Viking ship. Not quite sure why though. The staff were all pleasant and the stateroom was nice. The food was fine. Somehow it didn't all hang together. On Viking there is a coherent feel that goes beyond the decor. Having no extras to pay is good. Free WiFi is a boon. Also the in room TV system is excellent. Films and TV programmes on demand. On Azamara it felt positively antediluvian to have to wait for the start of the film to come round. All in all Azamara Onward was OK apart from their shore side communication which was dire. However, we're scuttling straight back to Viking for our next ocean cruise and definitely planning more river cruises as their river cruise ships are just perfect for us. All a matter of taste of course. I'm sure you'd be fine on either.
  12. Gratuities included for us.
  13. How about the volume of the shows and general entertainment? On our recent Azamara cruise we were actually driven out of the show lounge due to the artificially set loudness of performances. Others complained too. It was excruciating. We're sincerely hoping Viking entertainment will be provided at a reasonable sound level.
  14. How about the lectures? We always enjoy them more than 'shows'. Particularly good speaker on our Baltic cruise. An interesting historic perspective on political comings and goings in the area.o
  15. Viking are picking us up at the airport and transporting us to the ship. Seems simpler.
  16. This legroom is fairly familiar to us in Europe.
  17. First two weeks can be very wet. Variable though. You could be lucky. It can be different every day. July is busy tourist season. May or September would be a bit quieter.
  18. May in UK can be absolutely beautiful. Certainly here in Scotland it can be the best month of the year.
  19. On our recent cruise there were coughs and sneezes galore! Quite worrying. We never found out if there was Covid on board but I suspect that without testing there's no Covid! That being said, I think I've caught a cold on almost every cruise I've been on. Sharing utensils at self service venues, door handles, crowded lifts etc. So many possibilities.
  20. Re spending OBC it's not just Viking which could be better stocked. On recent Azamara cruise we had 50 dollars OBC left. We had to spend it on soap - at 25 dollars a bar!
