  1. Does Carnival offer multiple night specialty dining packages? Royal has these and they allow you to dine for a discount at for example 3 specialty restaurants. You can order in your cruise planner and then work out the details (specific restaurants and times) once on the ship. Thank you.
  2. We cruised on Oasis from Cape Liberty with our son and 3 of his children. His wife could not come as she was home with their one month old child. Nothing extra was required or requested. He had their passports. Bring those if you have them or birth certificates. Happy cruising.
  3. We have sailed many times out of Cape Liberty, including the itinerary you are on. We almost never have rough seas. We do take one Bonine (over-the-counter) daily, simply just in case. That has always helped us if there are any swells / movement. Enjoy your cruise!
  4. My husband and I like Houston's in Pompano Beach (on the intracoastal), however I am not sure how appealing it would be for kids. My parents had a condo in Pompano for many years, but I have forgotten most of the eateries at this point .... or in some cases, they no longer exist. Enjoy your time there.
  5. Yes, I did find some of my answers here. As well as on the MSC website. I was not used to the concept of "my time dining" not being available to everyone on the ship. So my advice to the OP who is also new to MSC is to ensure they understand some of these basic differences. Happy cruising to all.
  6. We recently booked our first MSC cruise. What I found most confusing as someone who has mostly cruised on RC was the various levels or "experiences" .... I recommend you review these carefully as to what implications they have relative to dining options/timing and room location. I wish the MSC rep had been a bit more clear about the whole thing.
  7. We found several bars smelly on same Jewel cruise as yours (I think they leave the smelly cleaning rags around or ?). In addition, the barstools at VCL/Vortex were so far apart and tremendously wobbly, it was ridiculous. We normally love the VCL/Vortex, but it was not comfortable. We therefore frequented other bars.
  8. Hi, is there any other included dining other than main dining room and buffet? Still trying to get a grasp on MSC. Staying in balcony, not YC. Thanks!
  9. I have seen the 210 Clinton Wharf address in several places, including under Embarkation info in the App (click Profile, then My Cruise, then look under Embarkation info.). When your eTicket becomes available it is on the page that says "Main Steps for Embarkation" .... it was page 16 for me.
  10. Oldest: Empress Newest: Harmony Favorite: probably Oasis class.... honestly it is hard to pick a favorite 😉
  11. Photo would not work for me at all in app on phone (Samsung). Camera started and showed my face but would not take the photo. Worked for me on the computer but whew what a photo! Ha. I was able to enter the credit card info on the app. Lots of 500 errors when using the computer. It will all work out, but not a positive experience.
  12. Royal does these islands (other than Nevis - go there on excursion from St. Kitts if desired) ... from New Jersey, Florida, and San Juan. Other beautiful islands as mentioned include ABC (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao). Use "Find a Cruise" option on Royal webiste.
  13. Hi, are all the bars/restaurants mentioned (especially those in hotels/resorts) available to the public i.e. non-guests of the hotels? Thanks.
  14. You are funny. It gets in your blood if you start going to games as a little kid (a little girl in my case). Beautiful summer nights, keeping score, the food, the cheering, being fanatical about your team, all that good stuff. And in my case, we had an added personal connection to a professional player. I love baseball so much. I am very sad when the season and post-season ends. ⚾
  15. We have been to Bermuda a bunch of times on both Royal and NCL. Love it. In fact, we are going to try a MSC cruise to Bermuda in the near future. Enjoy!!
  16. Our 4 year old granddaughter could do everything in Splashaway Bay. Our 2 year old granddaughter and anyone non-potty trained could only use the baby area which has a little slide. Hope that helps.
  17. On our last two Royal cruises, our stateroom attendants left the upgraded toiletries. We were not in special staterooms and did not request them. Interesting. I always bring my own conditioner in any case.
  18. If you have chosen early or late dining (not given any other choice), can you request a table for 2? Is the dinner buffet open the same hours for all passengers? Thank you.
  19. Hey, I am jealous you got the correct shrimp, @Jimbo ..... now I am really wondering what happened. They ran out when I was there? Strange. I probably should have asked.
  20. Agree. Those were the ones we used to get in Chops. This was not the case on Jewel in September. They were perhaps slightly bigger/better than the MDR shrimp cocktail. Not like pictured above. Hopefully a one-off. I don't know.
  21. Amen. We even wrote that on our last survey. Also I used to love the "colossal" shrimp at Chops in the shrimp cocktail. They are no longer very big or as good based on our most recent experience.
