  1. As posted earlier, your new level will be recognized if it changes as a result of your first leg of a B2B2B. It will be in effect for your second sailing. The update may have to be made manually by seeking out the on board Captains Club host(ess) or whatever they call that combined desk today. After you graciously accept your new Captains Club level, please give them the business by complaining about all the cutbacks past, present and future.
  2. Properly scaled, the Captains Club Tiers should be spaced like this on Celebrity's website:
  3. I just received my 5 points in the last hour, too.
  4. Hey, don't do that or we will also start posting our adorable puppy pictures here (me included).
  5. This wording is appropriate for watching a world event unfolding that is out of their control.
  6. Debbie, I believe that the terms and conditions in the booking allow Celebrity to make changes to the itinerary without requiring them to refund anything. However I would guess that if individuals asked for a refund because of a significant change in itinerary, Celebrity would grant it--they are just not going to advertise it. Also the further in the future the affected sailing is, the better as far as getting Celebrity to work with you. As far as itinerary length changes go, I have had Celebrity cancel our 2021 Asia cruise (14 night Hong Kong to Singapore) and shift us to a shorter one (11 night, 2022)) and in that case they gave us a pro-rated refund for the 3 missing days. A year later, Celebrity cancelled the shorter one (11 night, 2022) and move us to a longer one (12 night, 2023) and they did not increase our fare. David
  7. I am not having any problems with this as of right now.
  8. Your negotiating position has been strengthened considerably. Press on.
  9. Here is a link to my posts concerning the Behind The Scenes Tour: link I noticed that one of my photos is of a document that says no video is allowed on the bridge and engine room.
  10. We took the Behind The Scenes Tour on Constellation last October. I brought and used my DSLR with no issues. Bridge Engine Control Room
  11. That will become my work around in the future. Or if I have to score two free lobster tails for dinner, have my wife order a lobster tail in addition to her non-seafood entry to give to me as my 2nd.
  12. For the first time in years, we booked a cabin car that was eligible for the Captain's Club upgrade. I had forgotten about it because for years we've booked FVs which aren't eligible. Fortunately our TA remembered for us when she booked the cabin. It was worth $100-200 to us. I thought I remembered from these boards that the upgrade had to be applied at the time of booking. Again I could be wrong about that because my experience in this is limited. I also wonder if the CC upgrade is retained when you take advantage of price drops.
  13. Nice that you were talking to someone with field experience. I wish that they would rotate people through like that.
  14. You must be talking about Solstice class FVs if you say there are four on the ship. Of the five ships that make up Solstice class, only Silhouette had its 4 FV cabins turned into suites during her drydock to get her Revolution makeover. They were first named Sunset Suites, but now are designated as Horizon Suites.
  15. Again, nice photos. I am glad that you had calm seas for your day at Cape Horn. During our visit, the seas were calm but the rainy weather didn't make it feel that way.
  16. I am sorry to hear the sad news. Thank you for sharing it with us.
  17. My experience from having been associated with one pre-COVID cruise cancellation is to NOT wait to be notified. The information flow from within Celebrity and the flow out to the public is uneven especially if the news is late/fast breaking. If you wait, you may get the news much later than everyone else. The biggest reason I can think of for not waiting is if you want to rebook on another sailing. You want to be able to have your pick of cabins when you do that before the crowd moves in. There are a lot of people who are disappointed that their favorite cabin on the new sailing is gone or that a certain cabin category may not be available anymore. There is also the remote possibility of being able to get something done through Celebrity that may not be offered to later passengers because an official policy is eventually issued.
  18. The fact that your sailing is no longer available for booking on Celebrity's system is not a good sign. If Celebrity cancels a cruise, that is usually their first visible step. However not all cruises that suddenly become unavailable for booking end up as cancellations either.
  19. That was Mount Sarmiento you saw from the MDR at dinner yesterday.
