Why, because you are an anti-masker?

    some people don’t mind!

I'm definitely NOT anti-mask, but these rules fly in the face of current CDC rules about not needing a mask outside. I was expecting rules, but these are pretty hard core, IMO, especially if you've been vaccinated.

Serious response for you as well, it is social media, how do I know any of you are experts?  Fair question I think, and because I challenge does not mean I am mocking.  I do not rely on social media to inform myself.  That said, probably some here are “experts “ but I do not rely on what anyone in the social media world tells me.  And I am a total vax supporter, was one of the unfortunate ones to have a horrible reaction to Moderna shot #2.  And to be clear, I am VERY happy to have been vaccinated, regardless of the reaction to shot #2.

I know you directed the response to TeeRick, but here we go.  You're obviously mocking.  As far as there are quite a few doctors in this thread who have given their expertise.  I know there's at least one member who has posted in this thread whose son(?) was involved in the creation of one of the vaccines.  So if you had been involved with this thread from the very beginning, you would know who the experts are, who the well read people are, and who the BSers are...  TeeRick is definitely one of the very well read ones in here, by the way.

Just because this is a "just a message board", don't be so quick to dismiss people.

I can state with authority that the Golden Corral was operating their buffet thusly when I paid a visit two weeks ago.  Customers were allowed to self serve.  But that was in Texas; I cannot, of course, speak for your area.

Well, Texas is, shall we say, unique in how it handles thing...  :classic_wink:

  4. There will be ways to limit the number of passengers on elevators.  I know one building in Chicago placed a large tube like structure in the middle of the elevators and that reduced the total to about 4-6 people per elevator when they could jam in about 10 or so usually.  And the only time it would be a major issue is during disembarkation.

Personally, going down stairs is not a big deal, but going up is.  Not sure why my knees only bother me when I go up...

So, buffets are eliminated? Does that mean that the old way of folks simply grabbing food and adding it to their plates is out OR that buffets are gone period? If people are served, as was outlined above, what's wrong with that??

Still a buffet, just no more self serve, the food will be served to us.

But the new CDC release also confirms that test cruises won't be necessary for those ships that agree to meet the CDC 95/98% vaccination standards.  Since Celebrity doesn't have a lot of kids on board, they should go the vaccination route.  Royal and Carnival are the ones who will have to do the test cruises.

Princess as well I would think.

    I could, but I won't.

It is time that those who are capable of doing their own research do so.

It took years, but I finally understood those annoying teachers that when asked a question, would tell you to look it up. They were teachers, not enablers.

If that's your approach, it might be helpful to actually communicate your concern before setting others off in search of the unknown with a few seemingly random search terms.

I know what he's referring to and it's idiotic.  There is absolutely nothing out there from legitimate sites or news sources.  Period.

But to hammer it home, here's what WebMD says about it:  Why COVID Vaccines are Falsely Linked to Infertility

I wonder how the 95% of passengers vaccinated is calculated.  Is it 95% of the maximum capacity?  Or 98% of actual capacity?

What happens if more than 5% of the passengers on a particular voyage aren't vaccinated? Do enter a lottery at the port to see who gets onboard?

Here's the thing though, on most ships, 5% of the passengers is about 100 people approximately.  Sounds to me they're taking the kids under 16 into account.  I might be wrong, it's just how it looks to me.

Actually most of the requirements of the CSO are still in place.  The changes were really options for them to bypass the simulated voyage step providing they require mostly vaccinated crew/passengers on their restricted revenue sailings.

They are still waiting for the Cruise Lines to satisfy the port contracts and other parts of phase 2a.  They said these would have to be complete pretty quickly to be able to complete the other steps and make a mid July restart.   The next couple of weeks should be telling.   Ball is certainly in the Cruise Lines court now.

We're basically at the point of telling the 4 year old to eat their vegetables first then they can get dessert.  :classic_wink:

And once again that puts us back to the question of what would the cruise lines be requiring for proof of passenger vaccination? Those cards can easily be forged (and already are).

Crew vaccination appears to be a whole other complication what with the case numbers and low vaccination rates in places like India and the Philippines which supply large numbers of crew members.

And this is where the CDC and the cruise lines must work together to figure that out.  One cannot leave it up to the other alone to "make it work".
