  1. No idea - I was just going by the screenshot from the webinar. Original room was balcony and bidding options seemed to only include upgraded balconies or a minisuite. BUT they did imply that all categories would be available for bidding, so we will need to wait and see...
  2. Thanks for clarifying - I really didn't look too closely to their screen shots. Looking at this, the highest option for a balcony is a mini? Not a full suite? Yes, lots of conflicting info...
  3. I thought that was only if a TA places the bid through Polar? Again, I may have misunderstood - the sound was so bad at times that I just tuned out. However, I took from it that if a passenger places the bid it required their CC number and it was charged when the bid was accepted. If the TA places the bid on behalf of passenger and the bod is accepted, the passenger may either make payment through personaliser, have the TA make payment with CC or call Princess. Apologies if this is completely wrong - it's great to have all you folks to learn from....
  4. I highly doubt that would happen, too... I think I also heard that if you were in an ADA cabin and bid for an upgrade into a category that they didn't have available for ADA but they had a lower ADA category available, they would call to offer that? Once again, seems a little unlikely, but who knows....
  5. I may have misunderstood but I THOUGHT the question of upgrading within your same category came up and they said that you weren't able to do so. I took that to mean that if you were in a balcony, you could only upgrade to minisuite/suite category. From what I understood, the various types within each category would be broken down for anyone eligible to bid on that category - so the screenshots showing balcony/deluxe balcony/etc would only be available to those booked in an inside/oceanview NOT anyone currently booked in a balcony. Did I misunderstand this piece?
  6. It does get updated (and always includes the last update date). Seems the current version was updated end of Feb so likely more glitches to add and maybe some to remove. It's not a PDF, which is why I copy/paste (technically not supposed to share info from this source, but if it eases the frustration or provides answers...why not???)
  7. It's in One Source in Princess Answers. All TAs have access to it if they care to look...
  8. ncorrect ship/voyage Issue is: Two separate non-B2B bookings are merged into one long voyage, or shows incorrect sailing date or voyages. These two separate voyages can be on different ships, but MCA error will merge both as it's one voyage. This issue needs to have a support ticket opened with the Ocean Tech Team to resolve
  9. Both Lightyear and Minions were disappointments given that my whole family are HUGE Toy Story and Minion fans. Still waiting to see Maverick (too cheap to pay). One of the funniest movies I've watched in a while was Good Boys - maybe it was because I was watching with a 15 and 11 year old who were both horrified and embarrassed by it, but I was literally crying with laughter!
  10. ine My Way Errors within DMW can include: DMW showing "No times available" or "DMW currently being updated" or "DMW available closer to your sailing date". They can also be: Not showing all times available, or all dining options, Specialty Dining Credits don't show up during check-out, After touching "Confirm", the dining times will not save (an error message appears). Possible reasons for DMW errors: There are either no times available or not loaded for that ship yet. For the "Spec Dining Credits don't show up" error, the resolution is: if the guest is charged the ship will see the credit they will get a refund as OBC
  11. It's on the Polar TA site - it's the document that their customer services reps use when folks call in asking about app issues.
  12. Bidding launches Sep 6 for sailings from Oct 1st according to webinar
  13. Hands down my favourite show is Rock of Ages, closely followed by Wicked and Lion King. The only "meh" show I ever saw in NYC was Phantom, but I think we just got a dud cast/night. I'm sure whatever you opt for, it will be great!
  14. This is from the current known issue cheat sheet: MedallionNet Rare issue. If MedNet cannot be pre-purchased via MCA, the guest may purchase on embarkation day onboard. It is the same price pre-cruise vs. onboard. If Plat/Elite guest is attempting to pre-purchase and MCA does not reflect 50% off discount, the guest may still purchase (at full cost) and the different will be credited to them onboard by means of OBC Rare issue? Doesn't seem so rare. I'm firmly in the camo of being unable to get the 50% discount for elite in the app. I'm debating paying full price as I would use the OBC, but I don't want to have to fight for it onboard. I'm debating waiting until I'm on the ship, but I'm still concerned the price will be higher despite what it says above...
  15. They didn't mention UK passengers in the webinar but did imply that it would be open to anyone with a paid cruise fare. For those of us who book in CAD, the bid will be priced in CAD but not the "locked in" rate that you get when you book...the current Princess rate (might be good or bad, depending on exchange rate). The other thing to note is that this will start rolling out on Sep 6th for sailings beginning Oct 1st (initially on a few select ships to get the bugs worked out...maybe they are learning from the app disaster?)
  16. FAQs on upgrade process. The webinar is today, so more should come to light afterwards, too... Princess_Upgrade_FAQs.pdf
  17. Oooh, I had forgotten about your NYC trip. Looking forward to it - when I lived in Boston, we would go to NYC once a month for the weekend. One of my fave cities - and the Staten Island ferry is awesome!
  18. 's actually 3/4th guest sail free and doesn't apply to all cruises. If you do a search, the cruises thatqualify have a red banner with the offer!
  19. This is minisuite for 4 on Royal - no issue with getting to balcony
  20. This is from Royal - balcony with pullman down (couldn't use balcony when bed lowered due to it being blocked by the bed BUT if you are ok to crawl under it, it's not an issue)
  21. Technically, yes - you can purchase just the Premier drink package onboard BUT it wouldn't be an upgrade. This means that you wouldn't pay only the difference between Plus and Premiere, you would pay the full cost of the Premiere package.
  22. Agree - I was referring more to knowing what your limit is in terms of $$$ and not to keep upping the bid to the point where you end up losing even if you win (sometimes just calling to pay an upgrade isn't even that much when there are price drops...)
  23. I wonder if the bidding system will work as well as the app...as long as you don't have to use the app to bid I think it's a great idea. I bid with NCL pretty much every booking. Sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes I'm not. I have a maximum price I'm willing to pay and won't go higher - it's no different to playing roulette. You have to know when to walk away!
