  1. I always thought that until our last cruise on the Regal a few weeks ago. We were behind a couple in line on formal night, female dressed nicely, male had on t-shirt and shorts. Maitre’d refused to seat him unless he changed. He turned around and loudly said “I’m from the UK, we don’t dress up.” She was seated, I guess he went to change. 🤷‍♀️
  2. You might be able to find a Utube video to check out that suite
  3. Thanks! We’ve been in aft balcony and loved it, minimal vibrations as you said. No shelves in BR, strange with all that room!
  4. Have been on the Emerald several times (in balcony) but now considering trying the “suite life.” 😉 Deciding between an aft PS on Caribe vs a midship Riviera. Am a bit reluctant on the Riviera deck as it is directly below the pool. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks guys.
  5. Yes! We like this hint as well. Got this advice from a friend, I ordered small magnetic hooks from Amazon (a dozen), were very helpful along the wall leading to the cabin door. We hung masks, caps, bags and an envelope with bills in it for room service, since we didn’t want to dig around for their tip. Love the hooks!
  6. We experienced the same coming off Regal (in FLL) on Jan 3. Did not appear to have any down but seemed to be having problems. Many lines with about 12 or more/line. Prob took about 15x20 min, to get through.
  7. Thoroughly enjoying your pics and log of your WC. Great details!
  8. We did the New Years cruise on the Regal. Was pleasantly surprised at quality and quantity of food in MDR. No complaints! Also found the choices in buffet very good. Sabatini’s as usual, excelled. Maybe we just ordered the “right” things.
  9. Decided to stay at Crowne Plaza in San Pedro pre-cruise. Trivial question: does anyone know if they have coffee makers in room? Heard “cruisers” overwhelm breakfast area morning of boarding. Appreciate any input, thanks.
  10. I found one booked cruise for this year with a decreased fare. Just got onto “live Chat” on Princess site, she took care of it in 5 min. Also, check EZAir flights, they can drop as well. Found that last year!
  11. That would be great! Hate traveling to/from Vancouver, we’re on East Coast.
  12. We were on Regal two weeks ago, no lamp USBs, and only two outlets, both at the desk. I looked for another where the TV used to be, maybe removed or covered up, not sure.
  13. Wow, am so jealous! Will never book a cruise around the Holidays again! Thanks for all your cheery posts!
  14. I envy you, we were on the cruise preceding yours. It was at 100% capacity and almost unbearable. Almost felt like I was on a Carnival Cruise. Yup, getting older and cranky here. 🙄
  15. 🤣😂 I am laughing because we were on that ship last week, disembarked on January 3. That pool outside the Sanctuary was shoulder to shoulder people almost the entire time. I imagine the water needed to be drained and everything scrubbed to make it hygienic again.
  16. Our two favorites are Sabatini‘s and Crown Grill. Although the last couple of times we’ve been to Crown Grill the beef has been inconsistently prepared. Sabatini‘s however always knocks it out of the park, If you’re an Italian food lover. I should mention that we were just on the Regal New Year’s cruise and had various cuts of beef three times during the eight days in the main dining room. All were excellent and cooked to order. We especially enjoyed the surf and turf on New Year’s Eve, never expected it would be that good.
  17. Okay, thanks for your response. I purposefully avoided choosing a cabin under or near Skywalk. I assume you’ve walked it and noticed the easy view into nearby cabins. We were on Dolphin 608. Tiny, tiny balcony but we made do.
  18. I felt the need to add my two cents re: food and service in MDR and buffet. We just got off the Regal on Jan 3, probably did about a 50/50 MDR vs buffet. We had no issues at all with meals or service in MDR, in fact, some of the same items we’ve had in MDR on past cruises were much improved this time around. Wait staff was perfect, surprised at short wait time between courses. Buffet on Regal has always offered a vast array of food types and this was no exception. The fresh carved meat was always nicely done and we especially enjoyed the sushi selection one lunch (unexpected), though the sushi may have been a bit rice-heavy. We did make reservations one evening (6:30) and waited, along with others, for about 20 min before seated. But on a fully booked ship like this, perhaps not a bad wait.
  19. Sounds like another perfect cruise. We’re just off the Regal, did the ABC cruise 12/26-1/3. Ship was bulging at the seams, so crowded. Will never do Christmas week again. Should have done a b2b to recover. 🙄 This was our third trip on the Regal, not crazy at all about the minuscule balconies - yours looked a bit deeper, which deck are you on? Enjoy your trip!
  20. Wish I had read about painters tape last week. We were on the Regal and that closet light drove me nuts! Thanks for sharing.
