  1. Ours is the one after yours. My concern is if this is due to construction delays, September's would be the next to go.
  2. Sorry to drag this thread out of cold storage, but something might be lurking for July and August 2023 sailings for the Viva. All of the July cruises and all but the last one in August have "disappeared" from the NCL webpage. Might be a computer glitch, might just be a wait-and-see before they make a formal decision, but does cause some concerns.
  3. I believe the big part is if you are staying more than two days, and you're using the NCL Air option. IIRC, they won't do more than a two day flight deviation unless you are using their hotel.
  4. If I bring my Trader Vic's tiki mug, will the bartenders fill it up? 🤣
  5. Me, I'd just stick a car magnet for my favorite university on the door, so I can tell which one is mine. Of course, that might cause other issues from those who aren't fond of said school.
  6. My question about the "bundled laundry service" is if there is a limit in the number of bags you can send down. Obviously, one per pax would be permitted, but what if one needed more laundry? Could the steward provide an extra bag or two? (We're going on a 10 day cruise, with two days before and three days after. so we'll already have a fair amount of laundry by the time they do this.)
  7. This assumes they've actually assigned you said tickets before then. As of late, it seems to be in the 30 day range when they notify the cruiser - meaning that by the time they get you your ticket, it'd be too late to opt out.
  8. "Supermarket Sweep" is a gameshow that's had several US incarnations. Basically three teams of couples would ask grocery-related questions for points, which translated to how long they could run through a stage-based grocery store with carts and load them up with what they could within the time allowed for each, with some potential bonuses along the way. At the end, whatever they gathered was totaled up, along with the bonus amounts, and whoever had the most dollars won. Here's a YT version of one of the 1990s episodes: EDIT: Wikipedia reference a recent German version called Das Supermarkt-Quiz - Promis kaufen ein.
  9. Just hope you don't take home all of the stuff from the supermarket. 😁
  10. Same here with the Viva (1 year, 1 month, 6 days to go....)
  11. That begs the question -- for those cruises that are Euro-based, do they tend to have more European beers on tap (e.g., Peroni, German beers, and such) than they might otherwise?
  12. Actually, two hours in Oia would be ideal. Our ship arrives at 2pm and departs at 10pm, but since we are going in September 2023, sunset would be about 7:20, so we figured a sunset dinner in Fira would be doable and leave some time to get back to the cable car/tender. We just didn't want to waste time waiting for a tender.
  13. This brings up an interesting question. I'm pretty certain the cruise line will have a tour that goes to Athinios (not sure if the tender is directly to that port, or if it goes to the old port and picks up a boat to get to the Oia port.) Then, after it takes you to Oia for a while, presumably it'll have a bus take us to Fira. Since, as I understand it, the folks on cruise tours get an earlier tender -- correct me if I am wrong, please! -- so, I wonder if it is possible (or is it bad form) to book the tour through the cruise line, and then once in Oia, tell the tour guide that we're going to Fira on our own? Basically, we want to get some good photos in Oia, maybe spend two hours there, then go to Fira for a sunset dinner, and this seemed a way to get to the action more quickly (we're pretty low on the cruise food chain, so we likely would have a later tender number). Thoughts, y'all?
  14. My wife will likely use it for her Starbucks, which she drinks lo ts of and better grades of wine. Me, I might try one of everything, especially in rums.
  15. I'll say my limited experience has been pretty good with the call center -- the only time I had a really long wait (and used the callback) was when there was a price reduction on a weekend -- not sure if everyone was trying to jump on that, or if they just staffed fewer folks on weekends. The last time was the morning of the "Free at Sea Plus" premiere, and the representative wasn't familiar with it, but she looked into it and got up to speed in a hurry (she actually said she was going to take advantage of the plan as well). And, being an accountant, I had already figured out what the updated bill should be (there were add ons that had to be removed so I wasn't paying twice for some things), and it came out to the penny. Can't argue with that!
  16. More like a whale skeleton. I almost expected to run into Geppetto and Pinocchio.
  17. I was, but I jumped onto the bandwagon the morning it first appeared, so maybe they didn't have that restriction programmed yet.
  18. As someone who will be on the Viva next year, I don't have a problem with the cut-and-paste. It means that whatever problems they encountered building the Prima will be lessened, and there's a better chance it will come out as it is currently scheduled to. The only improvement I would hope for is looser slot machines, but I'm not holding my breath on that one! 😆
  19. Tried it, but no coupon. Oh well, add this to my Amex discount disappointment!
  20. Just be aware that (a) there are about 600 steps on the trail; (b) you will share the stairs with donkeys; and (c) you will have to share the stairs with what the donkeys leave behind.
  21. Not sure where you are relative to final payment; mine isn't until May of next year. In my case, they just amended the bill.
  22. Just wait until they open up the sofa bed and have four crewmen in that room! 😐
