Hi. We took the Uniworld Libson and Porto trip. The main draw is the culture and history of the area combined with the wine (vineyards). We opted for the additional excursions to Cascais and Sintra in Libson also. It’s a more relaxing vacation type of feel than other River Cruise Itineraries. We went in July, so sitting by the pool, sipping cocktails and cruising thru the locks admiring the vineyards is part of the experience.

You definitely don’t need two new outfits per day. Mix and match! Bring separates. You need a good pair of walking shoes or sandals and maybe a dressier pair for dinner. Country club casual for dinner. A couple of dresses but nothing too fancy. Bring a waterproof jacket. Tours go out rain or shine.

Wow! That is an ambitious plan. Most of it can work. I don’t think you have enough time to get from your Statue of Liberty and 9/11 Memorial excursion to Broadway theaters by 2:00 pm. The time of Wed Matinees. The Lego Store is in Rockefeller Center near FAO Schwartz. Top of the Rock is also in Rockefeller Center. If you guys like to walk, you can easily walk from there to the Plaza. The Plaza is across the street from Central Park. The only reason I’d go to Coney Island was if you are all have riding the Cyclone roller coaster on your must do list. The rest of Coney Island is more like a carnival back home. Maybe save it for next time. The subway ride is very long going there and back. MoMa is walkable from the Plaza also. Maybe hubby and Grand can go to Central Park, you MoMa.

Look at Avalon also. Avalon is owned by Globus, they have many land tours and extensive connections worldwide. I believe Avalon’s pricing is similar to Viking.

Another reason never to use Viking. Their customer service reputation speaks for itself. Unfortunately so many see the glitzy commercials and don’t realize there are several choices at the same price point with better service.

I would like to add that these car services all expect you to confirm when you’re at the airport so you will still be using data. But try to put your phone on WiFi. LaG offers free WiFi. Also, what time is sail away? All this talk about traipsing all over to get a smoked meat sandwich when OPs flight is landing at 9:30 is making me nervous.

StatueofLiberty.org is the only place you should get the tickets if you want to use the official ferry. Don’t be tricked by third party providers.

My mom is 88. She goes for the cab. And she waits in the wheel chair because she can’t walk far. For her to communicate with Uber driver and then find him is too much. Yellow cab no problem. She just did this last month, independently.

From LaG getting into a yellow cab is very easy, you go to the cab stand. It’s a regulated price. It’s easier for my Mom then she doesn’t have to try to find her car amongst all the Ubers.

I think you should chose a place on your bucket list and go from there. You know what you don’t want a large Cruise ship with thousands of pax. But there are plenty alternatives.

Yes. The agency I use is actually a brick and mortar agency. But they’re large. They are located in a state far from where I live. But with technology it doesn’t matter. The same agent works with you. She’s not just a customer service type agent. It’s through telephone or email. I prefer to email, but I have spoken to my agent on phone. Also the owner is hands on and part of day to day operations.

I’m a 10% rebate girl all the way. You can use google. If it’s a large agency that’s been in business many years and is the number one in sales of certain categories that’s a good sign.

I use Kayak dot com to check prices. Most likely you can get a hotel in Long Island City or Astoria neighborhoods near LGA for less. Stick with a name brand property.

When I look at Google Maps it says yes, take subway D Train to 50th and 6th Ave. BUT THEN TRANSFER to M50 crosstown bus. It will be a pain. Because there might not be working elevator or escalator.
