  1. Sometimes it is better not to be the first one to do something. Let someone else take the risk, and then hang back and learn from any mistakes they made.
  2. There literally has been no actual information yet. Just twelve pages of conjecture.
  3. I don't think I have been on a Carnival cruise where all of the chairs are full that early. That being said, if you want a completely legitimate way to help ensure the chair besides you stays empty, find two chairs next to another person. Point to the chair right next to them and ask, "Is this seat taken?" If they say "no", sit one chair over with the empty seat between the two of you. Single chairs are the last ones that seem to be taken, so the likelihood that it will remain open until your partner gets there is high.
  4. Bacon is available every day in the MDR.
  5. I was answering the OP's question, which was if they were "done" with tipping.
  6. There will still be tips on anything that isn't included in your cruise fares, I.e., drinks, specialty dining, spa services, etc.
  7. Given that a Viking cruise can be 4 to 5 times the price of a Carnival cruise with a similar itinerary, I would hope that it would have better service. 🙂
  8. Did you have a specific question? 🙂 There are many threads on this board that describe the turnover process.
  9. My guess? So they don't have to make every omelet to order. They can make what's listed on the menu and have them ready for the servers to pick them up. Made to order omelets hold up everyone's breakfast at the table.
  10. You may have hit on the reason they did this. The omelet line is long enough as it is, which seems to be the case at any buffet that offers made-to-order omelets.
  11. Kind of like restaurant prices in general...
  12. And I can promise you that unless you have an extraordinary appetite, you will not leave hungry.
  13. Same here. I bring no "good" jewelry on any vacation except my plain gold wedding ring. It's that much less to worry about.
  14. You can order any juice that is available at the bar, such as pineapple juice, orange juice, or cranberry juice.
  15. To be fair, if you want to go to Disney, staying on the ship at Port Canaveral would be a lot cheaper than a hotel and meals at Disney World. 😁
  16. When I worked in a large city and used rideshares a lot, I carried my shoes, lunch, etc., in a large Kate Spade tote bag. I would text my ride and tell them to look for the woman with the giant pink purse.
  17. If your child struggles with lines and crowds, there are going to be far fewer of that at the port at 1:30 than there will be earlier.
  18. I am pretty sure the shower walls are not magnetic. In any case, I have found that my travel size (3 oz each) shampoo and conditioner fit just fine in the soap dish in the shower.
  19. If you thought bars were crowded on embarkation day before, imagine when all the diamonds and plats are all trying to get the fancy frozen drinks as their first beverage... 😁
  20. I don't know about that, but it is super easy to get a cab or Uber to the airport from the New Orleans port - and probably about the same or cheaper than what Carnival would charge.
  21. That wasn't hacking, that was phishing. 🙂 With phishing, it is the victim that gives the information to the scammer.
  22. If I deal only with my PVP, whose name pops up on the phone when she calls, who has a dedicated extension we type in when call her, and whose voice I recognize, I don't see how this could happen to me.
  23. Each coupon is for one bottle. If you order it in the MDR, they will store an unfinished bottle. Otherwise, I think you will have to bring it back to your cabin.
  24. When you sign up for Cruise the Vineyards. They give you coupons for the number of bottles in the package and a list of wines to choose from. When you are at the MDR, a restaurant, or a bar, you hand the server/bartender a coupon and tell them which wine you want. I have never eaten dinner in the buffet in over 100 sea days, but I would think you can stop at a bar first and get your wine. The bartender can give you glasses if you request them.
  25. I would bet anything that she responded to some sort of phishing email or text about a fake upgrade. Then they cancelled her cruise with the real Carnival when she disputed the charge. That's something that could happen with any business one deals with. That being said, it's something that would never happen to someone who uses a PVP exclusively.
