  1. Don't forget that those airline points are real money, just like paying cash is. You may not have "paid" for them, but losing them would be basically the same as a forfeiting a nonrefundable airfare.
  2. Maybe an attorney did tell her that and she is ignoring it. I don't think anyone is accusing her of being smart.
  3. I really liked Il Viaggio. It is more Northern Italian in cuisine, so there will be fewer red sauce dishes. The vibe is more upscale than Cuchina del Capitano. I saw a post recently where someone complained that it wasn't a "real" Italian restaurant because there is no spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna on the menu. If that is your idea of Italian, you may be disappointed in Il Viaggio. Here is a link to the menu: https://www.carnival.com/-/media/images/explore/dining/menus/il-viaggio-menu.pdf
  4. My guess is the supply issues occurred because there were so many port days that ended up being sea days. People eat and drink more on ships on a sea Day,
  5. Except that every media post mentions what an idiot she was for putting herself in a position to have this happen. If my Chevy was stolen because I left the keys in it and the motor running, and I got on TikTok saying that Chevrolet owes me because it was too easy to steal my car, do you think Chevrolet is going to give me money? Honestly, I think the main reasons this got so much traction is that the media is treating it as a) a cautionary tale an b) an entertaining story due to the ridiculous woman telling it.
  6. And what makes you assume that the TikTok user is telling the truth? It may be firsthand info, but I don't believe it's been confirmed. I honestly hope for its own sake that Carnival sticks to its guns. The public reaction seems to be in Carnival's favor. Carnival knows what bad publicity is (remember the poop cruise?) and this isn't it.
  7. I suppose you could steal some some packets from the last fast food place you eat at before you board the ship. 😀 Personally, I don't have a dog in this fight. In my family, we don't eat much ketchup. I only have it on hand for recipes and guests. I recently had to throw out my partial bottle because it had expired - and I think the expiration date is a year or two after it is manufactured.
  8. I don't know if it is still true, but when I was a waitress back in the stone age, we were told that Heinz forbid the refilling of its ketchup bottles from big cans, A restaurant (or a restaurant chain) was only supposed to buy the individual bottles. One of my jobs at closing was to "marry" the ketchup bottles, which was to fill the half-empty ketchup bottles with other half-empty ketchup bottles. If you got caught filling the bottles from a can, they would threaten to stop selling to you.
  9. I agree with this 100%. DH and I have recently turned Diamond, and we also are interested in cruises that skew older in terms of the "experience" of the passengers. In terms of perks, there is zero incentive for us to stick with Carnival Corporation cruise lines. We might as well try the other lines.
  10. If you mean there are pressures on the company to raise cash to pay off that debt, I would agree. Raising prices is only one of several strategies they can try. However, a well-managed company is always going to raise prices to the highest amount that they believe the consumer will pay, regardless of their debt. As a retired CFO, I can tell you that is simply a fact. I can promise you that even if Carnival had zero debt, the cruise fares would be the same. They are charging what they are charging because they can.
  11. That's not how it works. If it did, Red Lobster could work its way out of bankruptcy by tripling the price of their entrees. The customer isn't going to pay more just because a company has financial problems. Cruise fares have gotten more expensive because enough people are willing to pay them. Those ships are still sailing full even with the increased prices.
  12. 😆 Honestly, seeing as you are a CC host, you know as well as anyone that when you ask for an opinion on anything, three things will happen. every time: 1, Some people will like it 2. Some people will dislike it 3. Some people will think it's okay And since you don't know these people well enough to value their judgement, you are right back where you started. 😀
  13. Chill! I thought the whole point of this thread was to manage your expectations. 😆
  14. What exactly scares you about that? I would love to use my CCL loyalty points on another Carnival Corporation cruise line.
  15. I should also mention that Shaq is unlikely to be there. 🙂
  16. I found it to be pretty average. IMO it's not as good as Chik-Fil-A or Cane's. Perfectly adequate, but nothing special.
  17. The time people get off the ship can vary. I have been on cruises out of Long Beach that got back to the port later than scheduled because of rough seas. I would not book my return flight based on the hope that you can get off earlier than the posted arrival time.
  18. It seems to be that it's the customer that is coming off looking bad in this situation. She's trying to embarrass Carnival by going public, and it is backfiring. Carnival doesn't owe this woman a thing. She should have accepted those inside cabins they offered and consider it an expensive lesson learned.
  19. Could the bars be so busy that you have trouble getting the 15 maximum drinks? I suppose that is a possibility. Will they be busy enough that you won't be able to at least break even on a Cheers package? Highly unlikely. I have been on over 25 Carnival cruises and other than the first afternoon, I have rarely had a significant wait (more than 5 minutes) for a drink at a bar. Any indoor bar during the afternoon will be relatively uncrowded. I have never seen a long wait at the Serenity bar. Now, if you rely on a roving server to get your drinks, that will definitely take longer.
  20. So, what happens when they add the gratuities towards the end of the cruise? Do they make those low cash people either add money or remove the tips? That might explain the lines at Guest Services.
  21. If those types of specialty waters are available on the ship, I am sure they are included in Cheers. However, I don't know if they are available. I am a tap water drinker.
  22. Wow. I have probably eaten at the Italian restaurant on Carnival ships a half-dozen times or more on about as many ships, and it has always been great. I far prefer this meal to the steakhouse, especially at the relative price points. What exactly about it do you think is awful?
  23. I would never trust a review or opinion about anything from someone who had literally nothing positive to say.
  24. I have never been on an RC ship, but they do have Heroes Bar that has sports on multiple large TVs, a score scroll, etc.
  25. So that means they are making prices closer to what they charge in the US.
