  1. Thank the good Royal Caribbean gods that we have 5 free drinks a day! Just don’t know how I could justify $100 each per day over the length of the cruises. As much as I love a Royal, I think at the moment Princess is very attractive considering they are AU dollars. Anyway, will find out next week, for the start of this season cruises for us which is now going to be our preferred cruise line!
  2. Hi all, will be taking to Sydney and do night before boarding then no problems. Thanks for all information. Let’s not hope boarding is delayed though😩
  3. So if our boarding time is 12.30 you think we should’ve close to that time, not say 9.00 am.?
  4. Thank you so much. Will be easier for us before we start to travel!
  5. Hi all, Just a quick question re RAT tests. Can the test be done anytime the day before we board or does it have to be actually within 24 hours of our boarding time! Thanks
  6. I am the same applied with Commsec last week and still waiting for the US Share account. Just had an email to say forms will be arriving shortly, so not going to happen quickly for me either.
  7. I will be following your journey with interest. Until all the changes to our cruises earlier in the year, we were booked on this cruise, but had to make a decision about which one to cancel and cancelled the circumnavigation. Enjoy your cruise.
  8. Is code orange a concern for our cruise on 20/10? I am getting slightly nervous, and interested in your thoughts Geoff. I was always concerned about these TP cruises arriving into Sydney. 120 doesn’t seem a lot considering the amount of passengers on board, but not sure.
  9. They use the Telstra network so could be whoever Telstra use? I was very happy when I had to use the Aldi network phone overseas and I also used free data whenever we could, sometimes just having a coffee somewhere in NZ. We only changed from Aldi because of where we live, we needed to use Telstra wifi calling. Just explore what Aldi have available before using the one off sim direct sim! Hope that helps! PS I have had that happen to us, using a sim from another country, our son kept seeing the country and said ‘call centre” until he realised we were in that country!😩
  10. Yes, that is the plan we had with Aldi, it worked well as long as you topped it up. I need to ring a landline in Australia, so hopefully this NZ sim will work. I did get another one from the Post Office to use in Europe but it was hit and miss. If I still had the Aldi mobile, I think I would just use that as if you don’t use all the top up, it doesn’t expire quickly like the Sims Direct sim.
  11. When I was with Aldi mobile, you were able to put some dollars on the account for use whilst overseas. We used to put $30 each on both ours and it was a lifesaver at times. Now with Telstra so they cannot assist. I just purchased the $29 sim from Sims direct for NZ in November. Super quick, received within 5 days of ordering. I won’t activate at the moment, so hope it is ok. There are quite a lot of places in NZ for free wifi though!
  12. An enclosed balcony would have been way too hot for Asia, but perfect for other areas and certainly for keeping out the weather. We didn’t see much wildlife, but just sitting there was very nice.
  13. Enjoy your cruise, you only live once and I have enjoyed your posts.
  14. We cruised Asia. Hong Kong to Singapore via Vietnam and Cambodia. We were extremely happy with our stateroom and a normal balcony with glass, but in saying that depending on where you were cruising (on a voyage) a sheltered balcony might be the preferred option.
  15. We had a balcony on Deck 10 and loved it, but I spoke to some people who had the sheltered balconies and always booked these for the protection they gave and for the value and the location being accessible to everything. Depending on the itinerary it might not be important, but on a trans Atlantic I understand it is. This is the same information that NSWP has given too.
  16. I have found embarking on Cunard very quick. You could actually time your arrival by 12 ish if that suits. With disembarking, I am gathering you will be carrying your own luggage and you will also be off very quickly if you want. All cruise lines want you off quickly! You will definitely be off Cunard by 8.30am as long as the ship is into Port on time! I would not book a flight before 12, especially as they now say to arrive at Sydney Airport two hours before a flight. Enjoy your Cunard cruise, but be aware you will not get the full experience on a 2 nighter.
  17. As I am thinking of getting some clothes ready for our next cruise, I have noted that our medical requirements and potions are much larger than when we last cruised.;Must be a sign of getting older😩. Clothes wise, I think we will be fine!
  18. On an 11 night cruise when do you think 2 Formal Nights would take place? Considering we have two sea days to commence and another one at the end. Is there any structure usually for when to have formal nights?
  19. I bet some people will say the same about us though. We get off a 5 day cruise, have one night in Sydney then do another 3 cruise! Lots of different climates too! Perhaps this was there first cruise and they had fancy dress? Anyway each to their own I guess!
  20. It has been a few years since we last had this dinner. Apart from the absolutely delicious food, do you still get the photo, flowers, cocktail and 1/2 bottle of bubbles.? Any assistance appreciated. ,
