  1. Just adding another datapoint. The roughest seas I've experienced were the Med, followed by the Pacific, both the US coast and cruising from Vancouver to Hawaii
  2. As you said earlier, you won't book the Connie out of Tampa because of its old age. I love the Tampa area, specifically St Pete Beach, and think the West Coast of Florida has some of the best beaches. However, most major metros have a Zoo, Aquarium, and dining; if given a choice, I'm not sure many tourists would prefer Busch Gardens over Universal/Disney. Currently, the Connie is sailing out of Tampa through early 2026
  3. It's entirely possible that with the addition of sailing out of Port Carnaval, X stops sailing out of Tampa
  4. If they want to be playful on April first, they should claim to be bringing back the cookiegate cookie
  5. You said you have seen 50+ marketing. Viking TV ads are the most frequent of any cruise line in my market. X is the second most frequent and VV is the third
  6. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is they'll aggressively try to sell off the un-revolutionized Connie and Infinity
  7. Just showing proof you can get 60Mbps down on Carnival. As stated the X throttled 5-6mbps gives me everything I need but it was quite nice on carnival to have every load in an instant
  8. Thanks, this is the first time I've heard that with some routers you can essentially convert basic wifi to premium
  9. Somewhat fascinating that the current and previous ad agencies allow typos. Wonder if RCL has the same typos? Figure it's probably only a matter of time for the existing contracts to run out and RCL and X will utilize the same agency
  10. To oversimplify it, it's a fixed price but they usually offer multiple discount amounts through flash sales. It should be noted you can buy now, cancel for a refund later, and can rebuy if the discount is greater So it's technically a fixed price with a dynamic flash sale discount
  11. It's what fits in the bag, I was told it used to be you laid out your clothing on your bed, with the laundry form filled out but after trying that the stateroom attendant told me to put it all in the bag
  12. Did one May 2019 and can confirm they were over $50
  13. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is this isn't right and the real reason is they pay for bandwidth. If this is the case, they are just being cheap. VV is advertising its 1.5Gbps (or 1,500mbps).I had 25-60mbps consistently on the Carnival Celebration which has Starlink and more people than the E-Class Ms. Nuts and I work from the ship during the daytime on sea days. The premium speed of 5mbps actually does everything we need except I have MS Team video calls and have had issues. MS Teams recommends 4mbps so I'm not sure if the issue is inconsistent speeds, connection reliability, or a combination of both I just DMed X/Celebrity on X/Twitter as I've always wanted to know why they cap when other lines do not; I'll reply once I see their response
  14. They need a disclaimer... *actual passenger age and physique not typical
  15. Makes sense. Seems like they're trying to project a moving land resort which is a stretch. Both have their pros and cons yet my number one gripe with cruises is the congestion; usually, lines everywhere and the MDR has its tables on top of each other
  16. Just wanted to point out that for the average first cruiser, they probably wouldn't know the E-Class generally has a slightly lower average age than a S/M Class. Most pick a timeframe and then an itinerary including the embarkation/Disembarkation port(s) I'll also point out I have seen the evolution of DJs paying top 40 (from the past couple decades) even on the S/M class
  17. In their advertisements, they do have younger couples, yet does that translate to exclusive advertising to young adults? Probably just looks better overall showing younger attractive couples at the spa than it does showing seniors playing pickleball
  18. Lack of demand, they often became the only comped cruise low-rolling gamblers would get and would routinely offer last minute "fire sales" to fill cabins. Same with ships out of PR
  19. It's been a while since I've done this but they allow you to upgrade mid cruise, they used to pro-rate it by night. I'm sure you can still upgrade it mid-cruise but am not sure if they're still allowing discounts or not
  20. When starlink was first deployed on X, you could hit 40mbps but they throttled it down. X wifi seems to be capped at 1mbps for basic and 5mbps for premium. Last fall, was getting 60mbps with Carnival. As slow as X is, it is literally revolutionary to what they had in the past which became unusable during peak times such as just before lunch or dinner services start
  21. That can happen literally anywhere. In the US, more and more restaurants now have a mobile credit card reader where they charge your card at the table (so your card never leaves your sight) but many restaurants still take your card away and charge it at the register. I've seen it multiple times where foreigners from Europe and Australia are shocked when they take the card away to the back.
