You do still get cleaning service twice daily, I was told by a stateroom attendant the only difference is they don't wipe everything down again unless it's wet/dirty

IDK yet wanted to point out you can CHANGE credit cards once aboard

Once you connect to the ship's wifi, there'll be the option to buy a 24-hour pass. I seem to recall $49.95; that could vary by ship or be outdated IDK, we always buy the full wifi package, perhaps you could join a roll call and offer to buy someone a drink or something premium if they let you log into their account for an hour

Be sure to check on google or the URL I posted to see the hours. At my home airport of LAX, they have different hours for different terminals If there are no appts between now and your flight, odds are you won't get one unless someone cancels. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is that most will just be a no-show who won't bother with canceling the appt -
Asked Chat GPT to write the OPs novel in one sentence:: Despite participating in the Go Green Program three times, only receiving extra points once, experiencing distinct service changes indicating participation, and the room attendant acknowledging enrollment, Celebrity Cruises refuses to award points without proof, leading to a decision to cease participation due to lack of recognition"

There isn’t a balance, residents vote to limit ships/people and the government overrules them -
Virgin curious? Celebrity sailor tries a new cruise line

The buffet replacement, the food hall, is a sit-down wait service, what was your experience with the wait times? Food hall wait time and various stateroom dislikes are the two main complaints I've heard. Yet hear VV's food is the best of all the mass-market lines and there's a lot more to do Thanks for the detailed review. We haven't been on VV yet but really want to, we just aren't huge fans of the itineraries. We are the most excited with the food, while food is subjective, odds are you'd find very few who would claim X's complimentary dining offerings are better than X's -

We feel the exact same as we don't like the itineraries and are very limited with vacation time off -

Celebrity is turning into a rip off

That's one of the cruise-related items SOME were protesting against (the article I posted goes into more detail), another was limiting the number of ships and/or passengers and some wanted an outright ship ban. They bundled them all under "No big ships" -
I could see that yet am wondering if the airline wasn't willing to book you on another airline would FBC do so One issue with not booking hotels directly is some will refuse to add your loyalty number and benefits such as possible upgrades or free breakfast

Your point is more universal than Maui-specific...There are very few cruise ship ports where the residents want tourists clogging up their roads and making it impossible to dine in at their favorite restaurant during their lunch hour. It's only those who get paid who want cruise ship tourists such as local Governments (with taxes) and tourist-based businesses. Key West residents even voted to ban big cruise ships but the local Government went to court and overruled them. Their locals were initially protesting when big ships arrived both in boats on the water and standing by the pier, here's a story about when a Celebrity ship appeared: https://www.keysnews.com/news/local/protests-greet-another-large-cruise-ship-in-key-west/article_9cb350e0-86b4-11ec-aeee-d7810749e647.html "A large cruise ship owned by Celebrity Cruises appeared on the horizon of Key West’s Pier B Saturday morning. As it grew larger and larger to the view, so too did a crowd of protesters staged on the adjacent pier. A flotilla of fishing boats, led by local Capt. Will Benson, amassed in the water as well." -

Not sure about the stateroom attendant but you don't have to use the door hanger, you can just call room service during breakfast hours for items within the continental menu for free -

IMO the big downside is the $200 change fee that the airlines don't charge
-
This spells it out and while it doesn't mention the return flight, all it's really saying is it'll put you on the same airline's next flight that has availability. Most if not all the airlines will automatically do the same, rebook you to the next flight with availability and may let cancel for a refund if you would prefer to book on another airline. If you're already at the airport, the airline will probably let you go on standby (take over a no-show's seat)

Celebrity is turning into a rip off

We were on the Vancouver to Oahu sailing, the fires happened just before this sailing and boy were people upset. What triggered many was the NCL ship was still going to Maui's north port which wasn't affected by the fires so many wanted X to find a creative solution to dock in the north port but they wouldn't and also, they wouldn't refund anyone. Several were upset about that. We were on a comped fare and still went, was a good time -

Pretty much the "sales" are based on occupancy and the discounts tend to get aggressive at the 90 day mark if they lots of unsold cabins. The "fire sales" usually happen 30 days or less -
That's what I'm getting at yet IDK, would FBC rebook you to another airline on your way home? You'd imagine they might get you to the ship as every day the ship cruises along further away from the original port but perhaps not home

I always wondered if FBC would be willing to book someone on a different airline if the original flight was canceled
