  1. I’m wondering if it would be helpful and encourage more people who use scooters to cruise if HAL offered a “reservation” for a parking/ charging space at the time of booking. (With regard to what Ruth said earlier in this thread, the service is available.) It could be offered with the reminder that scooters cannot be left in hallways.
  2. I wish I had known that when I was on Veendam in 2015. My neighbor had a very large scooter which took up about 3/4 of the hall. (We were in the bow.) It was doable for me to get past, but anyone using a walker, chair or scooter would not have been able to get past. And I think the door was actually smaller than the width of his scooter. Had there been an emergency…..🥴 I didn’t say anything because I was pretty sure he was solo.
  3. Of course, the pax would have to be able to fit into non-oversized equipment. Many scooters have a weight capacity limit that allows only a subset of the scooter community to be able to use them.
  4. I’m sorry to see them go also, but HAL has not been doing a good job of maintaining them. They were pretty weathered on Veendam in 2015. (I so wanted to spend quality time with them applying teak oil. They were so dry then.) I understand they are a lot of work for staff, but they are also pretty expensive pieces of nautical furniture.
  5. We had a different experience last year. We were waitlisted for a couple of shorex and ended up purchasing another for the same time. We received no notice, but once onboard our Navigator showed us as booked and our account with several charges. We ended up going to the FD as shorex was closed and they sorted it out for us.
  6. I understand, but there are/were fares that were classified internally as casino. DH got one. I was told by an agent that I could not add on an occupation related OBC because it was coded as casino (but it came as a private sale). To our surprise the small amount we paid for the reservation was returned as OBC when we sailed. It was then I understood it was one of those free cruises. There were other CC members on that cruise who also got the offer- but I have no knowledge about their casino history. I really doubt that the Players Club paid HAL for the offer my DH got. He has never been to the casino. And the last one on land he was in was over 30 years ago when we ran 2 rolls of nickels through a slot machine.
  7. Then there is/was the “free” inside cabins offered for the cost of port fees, taxes and gratuities that were coded as Casino fares but were not related to the casino. $49pp/pd is greater than 0.
  8. Missed a few. A bit more about the “other bits” of The Netherlands.
  9. Perhaps your IP location isn’t considered close enough to a port HAL sails from? I’m in SoCal and can only see San Diego and Vancouver. Woops- scratch that. Scrolling down also shows FLL.
  10. The cynic in me wonders how long it will be before someone comes on here whining that they couldn’t go and HAL kept their money while not disclosing that they chose not to go, or HAL sold them a cruise and then turned them away, when it was one of these last minute deals.
  11. He’s wanting to put money on several cruises in the same time period.
  12. You do get it back. ”Once a guest puts themselves on the standby list for a Cruise, they cannot be removed from the list, and if such guest clears the standby then the guest's full charge will remain (regardless of whether or not the guest shows up to cruise on the Cruise). If guest does not clear standby, they will automatically be refunded the full amount of the cruise fare that they were charged at the time”
  13. This sounds like a revival of the Dessert Extravaganza (was that the name?) with a little twist from the late 2000s.
  14. If that had been us I would have been concerned DH would like the NS balcony so much that he wouldn’t book below again. That has already happened with a veranda that we got a smokin’ deal on. 🥴
  15. In other threads people have mentioned that the cost of their CPP also increased when they added CO.
  16. Sounds like you got it. Substitute “wants to do Norway in place of Iceland” for NYC and Philadelphia.
  17. Remind me of when I introduced this masterpiece to one of the young programmers at work some years back… https ://youtu.be/m1LUzIQoWZg?si=
  18. It’s likely she’s subtracted the cost of the protection plan in figuring out the total loss. That’s what I would do.
  19. HAL has offered these lower rates for a while now. When you accept the fare/offer, you are accepting those terms- to get what you booked: date, rate, location. If you want the option to make changes later, book under different terms and pricing.
  20. I ordered this case for my iPhone 14 and couldn’t be happier. It has a protective case that covers the back and sides of the phone and that then sticks inside the cover by a strong magnet. The strap on the cover case is quite useful and if i really need to pull out my phone quickly to put it in a tripod or extension stick, I can do so easily. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0B8Z3PVXW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title also recommend this remote controlled extension (or selfie) stick for high shots. You can easily get over all those in front of you holding up their iPads and such.😉 It is a great “handle” for the phone for video once you enable phone stabilization. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B095PDCPFR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1
