  1. That was what I thought until my last flight from Frankfurt on Lufthansa. I found myself with a fare code that didn't qualify for points. I had booked it directly on the Air Canada website (I chose it because it was the most convenient departure time) and nothing ever said that it didn't qualify for points.
  2. There are still 2 bottles, but they are now refilled with filtered water. The same is served in all the restaurants. I don't think that any bottled water was available in the restaurants.
  3. I was on a Silversea included excursion so it wasn't an issue for me. I don't know what the panorama bus tour does, or how many buses they might have available.
  4. And I hated them for it. Expedia doesn't show all the possible air classes, for example. And you aren't even on the actual Expedia site; you are stuck with Expedia for TD, which actually doesn't show all the same choices.
  5. The Næroyfjord cruise is already all-electric and zero-emissions. But after 2025 you won’t be able to get to Flåm on a regular cruise in order to take it. And I believe it is still unclear whether regular cruise boats will be able to access Hellesylt either.
  6. I can't answer most of it, but here are my comments. I know you probably think that this will be your only trip to Norway. However, cruising to Flåm and Geiranger will be very limited after 2025. The same is not true for Olden and Loen. So that might influence your decision. I went in June. The weather at Geiranger and the sail-in was lousy, foggy and damp or rainy. Despite that I enjoyed the sail-in from the ungodly hour of about 5 am. However, when we went to Flydalsjuvet there was very little visibility. At the top of Mount Dalsnibba there was absolutely none. Flåm, on the other hand, was a glorious day, and I very much enjoyed the Næroyfjord cruise in lovely sunshine. The 2 areas looked totally different because the skies were different. I didn't go to Olden, so can't comment on that.
  7. If both Hellesylt and Geiranger are on the itinerary, then Hellesylt is usually just a technical stop for people doing an overland tour to Geiranger and the ship only stops to let those passengers off and continues on to Geiranger. Check your scheduled times. Personally I would recommend the second option which goes to both Flåm and Geiranger.
  8. I know nothing about Gate 1. What I will say is that the ability to walk off the ship has more to do with the specific port than the cruise line. Some ports are right in town, and others aren’t in the part of town you will want to visit. And, with the increase in river cruise traffic, at busy times there might not be enough mooring spaces in town, and you might have to dock farther out.
  9. They may be half days, but the staff work doubly hard getting passengers off the ship and welcoming the new passengers on board.
  10. Your phone should be even easier. Just hold down the letter and you should see the row of alternatives appear.
  11. I have a Hebrew keyboard that I can switch to on my phone. It wouldn't work so well on the desktop without using key labels.
  12. Yes, it does on my Mac, and I presume on my iPhone.
  13. I just found that for letters it works the same way on my (new) Mac keyboard. The only difficulties I have been having are finding the options that on the phone come off the $ sign (¢ £ and € being the ones I use most often). The first 2 use option keys (4 and 3 respectively on my keyboard) and the last one comes from the symbols menu.
  14. On my iPhone, if you hold down a letter you will see all of the various accent for that letter. So holding down the "u" there are 10 different alternatives including the umlaut. (I'm not on my iPhone right now or I would show them.)
  15. Sorry. They do show up in mySilversea, but you are only considering so you can't access that information. I would try contacting Silversea directly, or have your travel agent do so, since costs would be specific to the actual locations.

For each ship on the Our Ships tab on Silversea.com, scroll down to Dining.
  17. If Silversea is offering them, they show up below the included tours and select tours as something like privato tours.

As many as you want. It won't let you choose 2 on the same night, but other than that you could potentially reserve for every night on board (if there is space).
  19. There were lots of people with cameras; I didn’t notice whether there were monopods or not.
  20. Those are in every room, not just upstairs and downstairs.
  21. I did the Naeroyfjord cruise in June. It was very smooth. In addition, for photographers, there are ramps on both sides of the main cabin zigzagging up the sides giving lots more railing than expected for picture taking. There is, of course, also the top of the main cabin. All in all, there is plenty of outdoor space with direct views.
  22. This is a hydraulic lift lock, It has 2 basins that raise and lower on opposite sides. This picture was taken when they were in the middle, thus, side by side.
  23. As far as I know there is no limit. I certainly made reservations more than once at a few of them. (I did not reserve La Dame.)
  24. I think the one that shut down was Smith (or Smith's).
  25. There are actually 3 bus stops at LHR, one for terminals 2 and 3, one for terminal 4 and one for terminal 5.
