  1. Hello, And here is an example: Several years ago I had my Independence Roll Call hijacked for about three pages by Americans discussing their property insurance. Less 'drift', more 'Tsunami'! Regards, Cublet
  2. Hello, Tenders will remain free for those prepared to row - using the tenders' engines comes with a fee plus gratuities for the guy doing the steering. Regards, Cublet
  3. Hello, Yes, that is correct. Can I just add, obiter dictum, that this thread reminds me of a headline on the front of The Economist many years ago when discussing [?] 'cold fusion', and it was "Much heat, not much light". Regards, Cublet
  4. Hello, Yes, correct - apologies. Regards, Cublet
  5. Hello, No, it takes a couple of weeks to feed through automatically. However all you need do is see the C&A Concierge before the end of the second B2B and he/she will arrange to see you on the first morning of the (final) cruise and a new seapass card will be made for you with the new status and the local IT systems will update you to E+ at around 10.30. Regards, Cublet
  6. Hello, I know you lot look upon us in the motherland as the relatives that time forgot, but here is a picture of a waiter in one of my local Chinese restaurants. I tip in lubricating oil. Regards, Cublet
  7. Hello, This is all of a piece that I expected when JF became CEO - the type of accountant that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. Two possibilities that I have not read here so far: The eventual merger of Royal & X brands; or the 'fattening-up' of X (financially) with a view to a sell/float as a separate entity. Regards, Cublet
  8. Hello, I cannot speak for the OP, but in my case I don't go on a cruise to lose weight. During my one and only cruise dining in Blu on Eclipse I lost four kilos. Regards, Cublet
  9. Hello, That's the thing. I like my coffee to taste of coffee not that stuff, apparently vital to many, known as 'half and half'. Regards, Cublet
  10. Hello, Yes I know. Sadly the initial proposal for a luxury 248 bed hotel to replace it has been withdrawn by the developers who want to build sixty-odd homes on the site. Regards, Cublet
  11. Hello, Yes I know it's all to do with cabin type and length of cruise: My cabin stayed as Balcony but the cruise reduced from 12 to 7 nights. That's the point that I am making - the OBC stays as the same amount as on the original booking. Regards, Cublet
  12. Hello, Is it possible that you had two different OBCs - one for BoB and another (general) OBC on offer at the time for suites? The former you should keep and the latter I can understand you losing but X could have messed it up by looking at them as one. Regards, Cublet
  13. Hello, He just says "Good Evening Sir" to the gentlemen. Regards, Cublet
  14. Hello, I've no problem with the service from Il Secundo, it's the coffee that's rubbish. Regards, Cublet
  15. Hello, I don't think you are correct about the OBC being adjusted to reflect the new cruise length, unless I am special. Over the last two years I have changed three BoB cruises to shorter ones and the OBC stayed the same. I presume the corollary is that if I changed them to longer ones then the OBC would not go up. Regards, Cublet
  16. Hello, I know 2025 sailing dates are not long away, but I've been told that the 2024 DP340 UK prices haven't been loaded yet(!!) - not that they are not available. I have tried DP340 on the UK site and got no reduction but I did on the US website. What they also have not done is change the 'not valid' dates from all of July and August to from Mid June to Mid August. Regards, Cublet
  17. Hello, I would also add to check which platform you want as there are two entrances to the station serving different platforms and the taxi driver will need to know which you want (but he/she really should know). You can of course use the elevated walkways to change platforms but the lifts from/to the walkways/platforms are unreliable and I think station porters no longer exist. Regards, Cublet
  18. Hello, One of my favourite hotels in the UK was The Palace Hotel in Torquay. A jacket and tie was required after 6.00pm in the dining room and most of the bars. The Maître d' would stand at the door and, as you entered the restaurant, would say, to the gentlemen anyway, "Good Evening Sir". Then a few years ago the dress code was relaxed and the jacket and tie were only 'requested'. Then the Maître d' would stand at the door and, as you entered the restaurant in the requested attire , would say "Good Evening and Thank you Sir". Regards, Cublet
  19. Hello, I remember when the venue was called 'The Molecular Bar' and it served cocktails with, I think, liquid nitrogen. I know X calls it the 'World Class Bar' but a plaque at the entrance on Silhouette announces "The World Class Bartenders Selection" - so is it not the bartenders that are 'world class'? I would not say they give 'world class service' as my experience on Silhouette was 'there's the menu - it's one of those or nothing'. Regards, Cublet
  20. Hello, It also includes Il Secundo Cafe al Bacio at the entrance to the Oceanview Cafe. But (a) it comes in mugs and not cups & saucers, and (b) it's usually as weak as dishwater.
  21. Hello, Never mind your credit cards - get the deeds to your house out! Regards, Cublet
  22. Hello, In order: No; and Yes. Regards, Cublet
  23. Hello, The "CR" is silent - as in tomato. Regards, Cublet
  24. Hello, Just one more bl**dy cruise to the Canaries and the Spanish authorities will be after me for residents' tax!😠 Regards, Cublet
  25. Hello, At least the rust will be newer than it was last time. Regards, Cublet
