  1. Hello, Not only can you not get Captain's Club drinks at the World Class Bar, you cannot be served anything other that what is on the specific World Class Bar Menu. Regards, Cublet
  2. Hello, Not only can you order a 'Full English' but there is a card on the tables at Breakfast-time headed the same and it lists the items included. I speak of Silhouette as recently as this morning. Regards, Cublet
  3. Hello, I was disappointed to discover last week that the automatic coffee machines at The Hideaway on 7 had been removed. Regards, Cublet
  4. Hello, One of the instructions rarely followed by Royal is only to use semi skimmed milk in the coffee machine. Anything with more fat will clog its arteries and result in downtime. Regards, Cublet
  5. Hello, Being an open space, The Spa Cafe was ‘open’ on embarkation day but not serving any food. Moreover there were no beakers or mugs to see if either the chilled drinks or coffee machines were working. Regards, Cublet
  6. Hello, There are procedural issues. Keycards, and Concierge lunch invitations, are not handed-out at check-in but they’re placed outside you cabin door. Being informed there will be no access to your cabins until later, you arrive and find the time for the lunch has all but passed. Left hand and right hand not joined-up? Regards, Cublet
  7. Hello, I am about to depart for Southampton and Silhouette. The 'app', that I regard with healthy scepticism, shows the Spa Cafe as closed today. Maybe. But from memory it is not an 'enclosed' venue - ie with doors to enter, so one should at least be able to sit there but not enjoy the likes of five different varieties of lettuce. Regards, Cublet
  8. Hello, And every year people (sometimes the same people) ask on CC "When is Royal releasing its.............." Regards, Cublet
  9. Hello, It might be on your side of the pond, or a 'special', but not here. The methodology here: Select cruise; select whether include drinks package; select 'experience'; select cabin & location; then either 'done' or select any optional extras eg Wifi. Bizarrely if you select 'Drinks' as an optional extra it is twice the cost should it have been chosen in step two above. Regards, Cublet
  10. Hello, According to a TA promotional Deployment Summary dated 1st June 2023, Odyssey is colour coded 'Caribbean' for November 2024 - April 2025 (inclusive) with text "7-Night Bahamas | BYE"; Anthem is colour coded 'Repositioning' with text "Coming Soon" and Independence is colour coded 'Caribbean' with text "4/5-Night Caribbean | MIA". Ovation and Quantum are both in Australia and New Zealand and nothing is showing in Europe in that time frame. Regards, Cublet
  11. Hello, I'll answer re MSC later, but the simple one-liner for Cunard is that I felt I was on a stage-set for a Miss Marple episode - minus the bodies. Regards, Cublet
  12. Hello, Hmm. I have problems with the description of the Spa Cafe "We extended your spa experience by introducing the Spa Café. The result is a creative take on healthy cuisine, featuring an eclectic blend of offerings that are both flavourful and good for you." Five different types of lettuce just doesn't compare with meat and two veg. But I will look-in on Monday as it's the same deck as my cabin. Regards, Cublet
  13. Hello, I find this contradictory - maybe written by different people or another example of over enthusiastic use of 'cut and paste'. The second page above advises that a welcome letter will detail "the DATE, time and location of the luncheon" [my bold]. The clear inference is that it will not necessarily be on embarkation day. Regards, Cublet
  14. Hello, Sorry I cannot remember exactly but I would say either 4.00 or 6.00 pm. Regards, Cublet
  15. Hello, So far this year I have done 1 x Cunard and 2 x MSC. Next week I will be doing my first Celebrity for this year (I am Elite Plus) and will be able to make a current comparison of the three. Regards, Cublet
  16. Hello, Last year this side of the pond, the Concierge Lunch (on Silhouette) wasn't on embarkation but on the first sea day. We were handed the Concierge menu along with the MDR menu and seated away from the rest of the diners. Regards, Cublet
  17. Hello, The Nobel Prizewinning Economist Milton Friedman said 'the only place you find free cheese is in a mousetrap'. Regards, Cublet
  18. Hello, Royal Caribbean's loyalty program has a top tier called Pinnacle. Its members are often referred to as 'Pineapples' - less 'suggestive' (as per this thread) more a term of derision. So as a Pinnacle, in self mockery, I have a Hawaiian shirt with pineapples pointing to every conceivable point of the compass but have never been propositioned by anyone of any proclivities - dammit. I've never seen the handkerchief code in use in a sauna, but there is the towel code of course. Regards, Cublet
  19. Hello, Perhaps the solution would be to induce Royal to buy/lease an island, either wholly or in part, off our south coast and build a playground there. Now we can have a game thinking which island and of a name for the resort. Regards, Cublet
  20. Hello, What I'm waiting for is the merger of the C&A and Captain's Clubs as he said on a President's cruise. I'm not holding my breath. Regards, Cublet
  21. Hello, I've got both the newest Cunarder and P&O booked in the first quarter of 2025 and a gap reserved in the second for MSC when it becomes available. I guess if we do have an old rust-bucket from RCI then it should be dirt cheap or come with lots of free goodies. Regards, Cublet
  22. Hello, For some years now I have felt that Royal is more an amusement park operator and less a cruise line operator. Regards, Cublet
  23. Hello, I am pretty confident that there is no coffee machine in the (Celebrity) Sky Observation lounge. Regards, Cublet
  24. Hello, With all the 'staycruises' I went on in 2021, I said that should I take any more, Liverpool would be after me for Council [Residents'] Tax. Whilst Liverpool, and others, successfully handled the Virtuosa and others as a 'port of call', handling the number of pax embarking/disembarking should they 'home-port' there fills me with horror. Regards, Cublet
