Hello, Is there a website on which you can make bids directly, like RCI & X, or do you have to wait to be invited by MSC first? Regards, Cublet

Hello, The product was reinvented by Herbert Brain from Bristol - as are all the best people! As with a lot of things, the Romans did it first. My butcher makes his own and they are a good sized portion too. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Last autumn CK on Anthem was either terribly under-staffed or overbooked. We had the Maitre d' serving, a Royal Genie serving his guests and two girls from Johnny Rockets (still in their Johnny Rockets aprons) serving - all on one night. I think it is much better at breakfast and lunch. Regards, Cublet

Hello, I don't know how far I will get with this as CC's 'offensive' word algorithm knows nothing of English cooking. There is a meat product consisting, chiefly, of liver, onion and pork. These are wrapped either in bacon or pig's caul. The resultant produce is known as (here we go): Take one letter F, followed by the letter 'A' then two letter 'G's, then the letter 'O' and finally the letter 'T'. After all that introduction: I was reading the ingredients of a commercial product in a local supermarket and the ingredients listed the above and 'herb's'. Regards, Cublet

Hello, In the early 1990s I was living in Australia. I was in a stationery shop and looking at the Valentine's Day cards (you can guess the rest). There was one particular card with the heading "Your my Valentine". Oh dear. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Yes this is true. Whilst you will get A table at the same time, it may not be the same table. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Thanks. I'll remove the app (for four days) and reinstall it for the more substantive cruise. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Forgive me but I've decided to high-jack this topic as it was one of the most recent to contain "MSC APP" in its title. I'm familiar with RCI & Celebrity's APPs, perhaps that's the problem. With MSC can I only 'Register' and see one booking at a time? I have three MSCs booked including a B2B and can only see one booking - the first of the B2B and the RCI/X option to 'Change Booking' is nowhere to be seen. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Agreed. But there is nothing stopping you from choosing your own 'set dining' time for the duration of the cruise in one of the MTD dining rooms. Cublet

Hello, Not showing on either of my two Anthem BoB sailings departing September 2023 - even when I edited the url to read packages. Regards, Cublet

Hello, It always pays to know what time zone the country/port keeps. Very many years ago RCI's Navigator, on its maiden season in Europe out of Southampton, told pax to put their clocks and watches forward one hour in Lisbon. Now my geography won't win any prizes (and didn't a GCE 'O' level) but I did know that UK & Portugal kept the same time. So literally hundreds of pax queued in the sun on the quayside for a hour waiting for coaches (keeping Portugal time) an hour behind ship's self imposed European time. Many, especially with small children, became quite distressed. Later that night in the theatre Gordon, the Navigator's CD, asked the audience how they enjoyed their day in Lisbon - and boy did they tell him. The captain had to come to quell the near riot and, amongst other things, say that shuttle-bus fees would be re-reimbursed. I wonder where Gordon is now as I've never encountered him since. Regards, Cublet

Hello, If you booked from the UK whilst on-board you can move bookings to another sailing without loss of deposit until final payment day. Regards, Cublet

Hello, Payment terms are now 70 days so I would expect 8th April to be correct. How many invoices have you had from X to look through to see if there is a strange jump somewhere along the line? I think a call to X (if you have not used a TA) may be called-for. Regards, Cublet

Can you check a case of water at Pier with luggage?

Hello, They take it in Southampton. Regards, Cublet -
Hello, There are a couple of extra ways to (maybe) get a booking: If you are C&A Diamond (and above) or in a suite then your Concierge can make the booking for you; bookings are 'open' from 8.00am on the day and if the app is in revolt you can go to the sports hall on deck 15 (Seaplex) and make a booking in person there. The guys at the North Star 'taking the register' may be too busy to want to deal with making bookings, but you might be lucky when things are quiet. Yes, it is supposedly only once per cruise but if the are extenuating circumstances (eg tipping down with rain and you cannot see anything as the thing has no wipers) you can have another one. Celebrity Reflection question about concierge vs verandah
cublet replied to wildcats40's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Hello, Thank you - I knew I wasn't mistaken. We were seated in a dedicated area of the MDR and offered two menus - one for Concierge Class and the other the 'ordinary' MDR menu. And what I also remember from many years ago was complimentary wine with lunch. Regards, Cublet -

Hello, Is it? My last two Silhouette cruises had no embarkation day lunch in MDR for Concierge Class pax - as I said it took place on the first sea day. Regards, Cublet -

Hello, In 'ye good old days' Concierge Class' had a Welcome Aboard lunch in the MDR on embarkation day. Of late it seems to have slipped to the first sea day but it would be nice to return to how it was. Regards, Cublet -
Hello, To be fair, I don't think MSC are unique in that respect. Regards, Cublet

Hello, I once, and only once, had mine presented to me by the Master of the Independence at a C&A event - those were the days! Regards, Cublet

Hello, I will find out for myself what X MDR 2023 menus are like in June this year. However, and this is probably what makes me different to most of the posters here, when on both X and RCI I would go to the MDR look at the menu and say "Oh no, not steak again!". I want some interesting variety and 57 different ways of serving beef doesn't qualify in my book. Regards, Cublet
