  1. Hello, Taxes and Fees appear after you have chosen you cabin and are entering Primary Guest information. Regards, Cublet
  2. Hello, Notwithstanding the usual Royal's left hand not knowing what the right is doing, we appear to have (at least) two versions of the Pinnacle Cruise Certificate in circulation. What we need to get (something approaching) certainty is to hear from someone that has used a PCC recently. Regards, Cublet
  3. Hello, The chief difference I note between the list of C&A Benefits and the Pinnacle Cruise Certificate is that the PCC now excludes June 15th - August 15th sailings. However I would also note the date of the PCC T&Cs is 2nd February 2022 whereas the list of C&A Benefits is "Valid on sailings departing on March 15th 2022 and onward" so one would expect them to apply. Regards, Cublet
  4. Hello, It is possible the X does not know about this. The upgrade scheme is a product of a company called Plusgrade. It says: Plusgrade’s market-leading solutions provide our travel partners with both substantial value-added incremental ancillary revenue and serve as a powerful merchandising strategy in helping our partners introduce new products, build brand loyalty and drive incredible improvements in customer satisfaction. If X is reading this, then I think the 'building brand loyalty and.... improvements in customer satisfaction' flew out the window months, if not years, ago. Regards, Cublet
  5. Hello, You are thinking of the DP340 Solo's discount. The so-called 'Blackout Dates' are: Christmas/New Year's sailings; and a ship's first 365 days in service. Regards, Cublet
  6. Hello, I think it doesn't update until someone remembers to feed the poor hungry hamster running in the wheel that cranks the thing over. Regards, Cublet
  7. Hello, I have been told, by many - both here and on-board, you lose the OBC and Balcony suite discount but keep Shareholder OBC. Being selfish I am pleased to know I keep the DP340 discount. Regards, Cublet
  8. Hello, I've swapped the Canaries in October to this one. Anyone joining me? Regards, Cublet
  9. Hello, Sorry guys - moved to 3rd September and Norway. Hope to see you around. Regards, Cublet
  10. Hello, Anyone else coming with me? Regards, Cublet
  11. Hello, I am of exactly the same view when it comes to Prosecco. The swill they serve at Elite Cocktail Hours and put in Concierge cabins is called 'Prosecco' but is nothing like it. I should have no problem on Cunard getting real (and good) Champagne next April. Regards, Cublet
  12. Hello, I want to know the nationality of the cooks before I book an Indian meal. IMO best Indian meals at sea are on P&O. Regards, Cublet
  13. Hello, Not a suit, neither Celebrity but still on-topic. I returned to my cabin on Something of the Seas to find a note from housekeeping asking that I phone them. I was told that the bespoke shirt that I had sent for dry cleaning had been ripped on the arm. I was asked to complete a claim form and, as it was obviously an expensive shirt, the amount I claimed would not be contested. I claimed £129 and that at an exchange rate of 1.4 something was credited to my account the next day. Later in the week I found myself sat next to the ship's purser at the 'Meal with an officer' and mentioned my loss. Without any apology she went on about how difficult it was for her to find the right heading on her accounts system to post the cost. Although I was reimbursed for my bespoke shirt, I would sooner still have that than the money as it was one of the last things that Austin Reed made before they went bust and hence no chance of a replacement. I have, as a lasting memory of the shirt, a shirt carrier (like a suit carrier but smaller and lighter) that hangs, empty, in my wardrobe. Regards, Cublet
  14. Hello, Water, tea and coffee - but coffee only sometimes. The poor coffee machines is not at all well looked-after and is often out of action. And as it's the coffee machine that produces the hot water to make tea you might be out of luck there too. Regards, Cublet
  15. Hello, The theory is indeed that you only need to do the first check-in. However what does not always happen is your credit card details getting copied from the first to the second sailing - you will then find yourself hounded to pay your second cruise's on board account before you disembark. Whilst it p***ed me off at the time (twice in fact), when I complained to Miami I was given $300 (twice) additional OBC on subsequent cruises - and they admitted their mistake. Regards, Cublet
  16. Hello, Despite the low numbers, the speed of the bar service was funereal at best. I hope it is a different waiter in two weeks time. Regards. Cublet
  17. Hello, Well, exactly. I was on the Indy a few years ago when a guy from the deep South seated next to me in the MDR said that when he read there would be a kettle in the cabin, he didn't know what to expect. That and it boiled water. Regards, Cublet
  18. Hello, When did they stop doing cereals? I now steal from the Oceanview and ask for a bowl and milk. Regards, Cublet
  19. Hello, Just to emphasise, as of June this year, there was no buffet, what you ordered was delivered, plated, to your table. Regards, Cublet
  20. Hello, I think you will find more regional food in the WJ than you will in the MDR. Regards, Cublet
  21. Hello, There is a subtle difference between the question on the subject line and the question in the OP's post. Coffee makers (machines that make coffee using a pod system) are in JS and above. I am unsure what is meant by a coffee pot - here a coffee pot is one to serve coffee previously made by any method. Kettles, that do no more than boil water to use as you will, are available in all cabins on UK sailings. Regards, Cublet
  22. Hello, The model number of the machine is a LB300USA. The types of Lavazza pods it takes - two different ones - are 'Blue' and 'Expert' but not 'A Modo Mio'. Lavazza also make pods for other manufacturers' machines, or at least supply the coffee, that, needless to say, do not fit the machines in suites on Royal. Personally I don't think they are an improvement simple 'drip' coffee machines. I take ground coffee bags with me that I much prefer to these machines that work - noiselessly - with boiling water. I start it brewing before I enter the shower in the morning and by the time I have dried myself the coffee is ready to drink. I have a similar machine to the ones in DL & CL at home. Regards, Cublet
  23. Hello, I had a genuine mini refrigerator on MSC last year. Boy was it cold. It kept the ice in my ice bucket solid overnight. Regards, Cublet
  24. Hello, I think the marketeers at Royal are blissfully unaware of the impending recession. Regards, Cublet
  25. Hello, I always 'auto-pay' my grats and pay cash in addition to the individuals I have dealt with face-to-face throughout the cruise. I like what used to happen: You would be given a pile of envelopes and a pre-printed form with perforations providing a tear-off slip to put in the envelopes to give to each recipient. If what has been said here is correct and my cabin steward knows I 'auto-pay', is the single envelope he puts on my bed on the penultimate day a way of saying 'Thanks for the tip - but I would like some more'? Regards, Cublet
