  1. Is that $5.00 for both captains, so $10.00 for Ascent and two captains?😍
  2. We use Stefano’s RomeCabs; over 10 times and never an issue!
  3. Thank you, Texed. Both legs are injured with Achilles(he has a boot)and hamstring tear on the other leg. The good news is that he is determined to see it through and be a model patient 😍
  4. Thank you for the healing thoughts; the second MRI is tomorrow, so hopefully by Wednesday we will have some direction. Yes, we did have insurance, but it was more expensive than what Celebrity wanted in total- yes, it was very expensive; we were lucky to still be within the 10 day waiting period, so received a full refund. I just want my DH to be able to move on from this, even with 6 months or more of PT. We continue to book our cruises when they are first released, so also get price drops too. This cruise only had one price drop, but 2,200 in OBC for Hawaii, the most we have ever had for a 10 day cruise. I also canceled a cruise and received a full refund of 900, since Celebrity upped our down payment. It wasn’t until November, but I was not pleased by the way we were treated by Celebrity and needed some time before we cruise next year on a b2b to ease my feelings and use all my energy to help my hubby. The best part is that he said no more skiing! Again, thank you so much for sending positive energy!
  5. Actually, I can see it now...chose any cabin/suite and be able to add on anything your little heart desires! After all, Valentine’s Day is coming soon! * *Remember to read the fine print and know that pricing continually changes, as do rules and regs, so what you see today may be different tomorrow, but that’s the chance you take!🫥 ~Making Dreams Happen One Cruise at a Time😜
  6. Sorry my answer also confused you. I stated that my issue was a different situation, but I guess that detail was missed. At least you really don’t lose anything because that was your agreement; however, you don’t gain anything either. Just don’t get hurt and make sure that you have insurance. There is no sympathy at all from anyone, period. I know exactly what you meant because I also look at that factor when booking, but it is not the most important reason for a booking. I have a vacation fund that pays excellent interest, so never really an issue for me, but never had one of us been in a severe accident, after paying a few days early either. Live, learn and be kind!
  7. Thanks so much for providing much needed humor through photos, not to mention details of the cruise. Love the review with a cat, twist and big laughs. With Ascent being the brand new ship, on the block, your experience should be close to perfection! Next year Celebrity should Xcel again! My second cousin would love to be joining you, as she is quite the dress-up and make-up queen.
  8. I agree, but just demonstrating that payment dates are not movable for any reason; that’s what my TA was told. I should have stated that. The final payment is due on the date it is due, period. Of course, pending and posting do allow for some wiggle room, but one has to be careful.
  9. Celebrity would not do it for us for a completely different situation; my DH was in a bad ski accident on Monday, so we needed time to see if he could cruise in May( paid early)...we were told that one day past the due date would be a fee of 25%..final answer, as my TA tried, but was shut down immediately. This must be the new policy where there is no leeway at all.
  10. I hope you only lost what should have been your initial down payment! It was different for us.
  11. Yes, so many changes lead to frustrations, except if you are a newbie. Also, having a fat wallet doesn’t hurt either. We always have insurance; wouldn’t that cover the cost of a trip or fall. If you did not have adequate coverage that’s on you. It would be nice to know exactly what caused the rest of us who enjoy footstools and loungers to understand how we lost both, but I am sure there was some sort of settlement...Why book a Sunset Suite, or SV unless you enjoy those chairs. Our last S1 did not have any loungers, but of course we did not know that ahead of time.
  12. The rules keep changing, so I understand your concern. Also, there are many newbies, so many inconsistencies too. My husband was in a very bad ski accident on Monday, but our cruise was before final payment, as we booked a long time ago; however, our payment was made early...they go by the new rules, not the rules when you booked...cruise was an extra $500 because they had all of our payment. No switch to another cruise either, but hey, my DH’s life is more important than any cruise, or amount of money. It is so hard to know the rules, but always wait as long as possible to pay. Price drops are different too, no mater when you booked. We won’t be cruising anytime soon, as recovery will be months, along with surgeries.
  13. Your B’day present reminded me of mine a few years ago: Breitling with diamond face. It was all so unplanned and special, not to mention the pound had dropped and I believe there was a sale. Anyway, it certainly provides wonderful memories. Your watch looks beautiful!😍
  14. Nice to see you celebrating your birthday onboard, along with enjoying all that comes with it. Sounds like you are on your way to many delightful experiences on a beauty of a ship! 😄 Happy Birthday and have a lovely time onboard!
  15. It will depend on the date/promo when booked. Your TA can help you with this, or call Celebrity now! I chose not to take the new, slightly lower price for a variety of reasons...not worth it overall, as my OBC was over 2,000. Yes, until final payment for cruise and airfare.
  16. If you book with FBC and it is added to your reservation, insurance usually requires that you must insure your flights too. That is one reason that I book flights on my own, especially going overseas: However, it really depends on cabin class, price and other factors including insurance. Also, so many factors change, making it more difficult at times to navigate. Some airlines allow seat reservations, while others do not until paid. Life is always a live and learn process for me. I hope everything works out for you!
  17. I find those months to be a wonderful time to cruise. We have cruises booked(b2b) during Sept/Oct for 2025. The Eastern Med is our favorite, making it to Israel, Greece Turkey, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia etc. Very few children, interesting people, wonderful ports and excellent weather. Lots of exciting and educational things to do and see.
  18. Which Apex TA are you doing next year? We are doing a b2b in the fall with our Oceania TA in the spring. What is special about trying new ships/cruise lines is that you never know how things are going to go, but it is exciting to explore and learn while asking lots of questions too. Trying to find all the “hidden rules” are like playing a game onboard, while always learning something new.
  19. I find your age comparison to be what we saw during our Caribbean Cruise on Beyond. It was so different from our two Beyond cruises in Europe. We are doing a TA with Oceania from Miami to Lisbon, mostly because of the itinerary and cost. We will also be in a PH, so your review was helpful, but many of the things you mentioned were not very significant to us. I already know the gym is small, so that will not be a surprise at all, not to mention that it will not be able to compete with the newer E-class ships. We left RCCL decades ago, so we are stuck with the demographics. We are not by any means young in chronological age, but our lifestyles are very different due to our dedication to health and wellness. In many ways it is a blessing, but in others, not so much...we just cannot act our age, nor do we want to, especially due to now having to pay for excursions included in the fare, so it is what it is. doing our own excursions and not the ones offered by the ship are what we like. We have three cruises booked on Celebrity, but after Hawaii, the others are in Europe... Thank you for sharing your review. Sorry Vista was anything special at all, but at least it told you that you really do enjoy Celebrity and might just spring for the extra $$$ or, as you say, book AQ. We have to have a real balcony, so for us it is a suite, or SV. There is a good chance both of us will come to the conclusion that Oceania is not exactly our choice cruise line either, but only time will tell!
  20. Celebrity is just testing the ceiling; let’s see how high it goes! It is certainly a place I would never go, but seems to be working for shareholders and those booking that itinerary!
  21. Have you taken cruises in the Caribbean? Maybe their targeted demographic is 45+, but...
  22. Safe travels on your choice of ship and itinerary!
  23. Yes, but always check the restaurants on the various ships; it is on Vista!
  24. Luminae was a disappointment for us on the exact same cruise we took in November, but our waiter did everything he could to make it better. sounds like you had a different bread person than we did, as ours always wanted to give us two or more! The entire crew did an excellent job. We also had the same crazy butler! Hope you continue to enjoy your cruise...thanks for sharing your port days, along with the great photos. Hope your hiccups are few and far between!
