Booking your own private tours, along with others on the roll call can be so much fun. You really get to know people and have a great time at a better price point. I cannot and will not ride on a big bus. Also, your on time back to the ship is guaranteed with the right companies. I say to go private or go home, but understand that some do not feel comfortable doing the research and booking, but it is an excellent way to learn about the various activities/excursions available. Furthermore, so much more comfortable and you see more too. One of my most favorite cruises was in the Adriatic on Silly; I met so many wonderful people/friends on that cruise; would do it again in a heartbeat!

Maybe, more like a hodgepodge from various ships to create their perfect ship experience! 🤣 I do not want any other experience except the one on O, as can do the comparisons and decide which ship experiences I value most when booking other cruises.

Well, since I haven’t taken my very first O cruise, maybe I’ll be moved up to the category above my PH1, or maybe I live in Dreamland, just this side of Completely Doubtful!😜

We actually enjoyed everything except the bus experience, as we were continually waiting for the same individuals to the point of many of us returning later, rather than sitting on the bus. The person in charge of our bus had no idea how to deal with a couple of families who thought the trip revolved around them! We would never do one of these again, but did have a lovely experience on the train, along with the hotels. Seeing the birth of twin moose; very exciting!

Exactly...and I have been a senior for years; however, both of us love a calming energy, but not so much that everything is slow-moving without a sophisticated vibe. Our Caribbean cruise was exactly this, but now we are sticking with Europe/AUS/NZ...we just had no idea, as hadn’t cruised the Caribbean in decades, but now we know and have learned our lesson the hard way. A good friend of mine felt the exact same way, but I didn’t listen very carefully. I loved Beyond, so that’s why we booked...wrong! I need more than just the ship experience! Europe is not for everyone, but it is for us...we also cruised Royal in the beginning too, having so much fun!

We enjoyed Fine Cut; it was one of the best filet’s to date onboard a cruise ship! However, food is so subjective, but we had an excellent waiter and met the chef before our dinner, so just got very, very lucky!

I have read on other social media sites that cruisers have commented on the ship losing power for 5-8 minutes, but came back on and things were fine. Several people commented that this did not affect their cruises at all; even one said that having the lights go out for dinner was very nice!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, as comparing experiences, ships, # of cruises is impossible. If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands; if you're unhappy and you know it, you have that right! This is not a contest, but lots of different experiences. As for the gift basket...I found something similar under my bed with a little dust and soap; just something to sneeze about, yet nothing in it. If your basket was better...lucky you! (No, this is not a joke)

We have missed ports, but then new ones were assigned. Unfortunately, if there is a natural disaster, like the fire in Lahaina, that is not included. When we were young, insurance was not part of our cruising; however, now it is a different story. Being well versed in travel insurance is very important, not to mention pre-existing conditions and those details, as so many do not get reimbursed due to a prescription change or something else. Details make the difference when buying insurance and everyone is different. Remember, the insurance company knows all the loopholes, so you should too. Always read the fine print, ask questions and work with a reputable company.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t surprise me at all. I have received several emails about Premier Access, but the last one took me to a site that said more information was forthcoming, so check back later. I am sorry, especially if you paid for this service. Sometimes the cart comes before the horse, or should I say, you pay your money first and then hope what you paid for is available. So many changes without properly ensuring the communication channels is not a good practice. Good Luck! Please return and share your feeling regarding all of these services, as I know many would be interested in hearing, along with sharing their own experiences.

I also love taking photos of doors throughout my travels, not to mention that when I was little, trying to open those was a fascination from the age of 2. Yes, many times I found myself in trouble, but that didn’t stop me, at least not for several more years. Some of my most beautiful door photos have been from Israel, Russia, China and Malta, but there are beautiful doors everywhere. I also love stairways and arches, not to mention the history behind all of these, as they all tell a story if you have the time to listen.

We miss a lot of things, but mostly the fact that the shoreside experience has gotten worse; that’s hard to believe, but honestly I will not waste anyone’s time explaining what happened to me today, as I finally just gave up, hung up and poured myself a Bourbon and Peaches! I don’t even drink, but this one makes me feel good and peachy!

No, you did not need too; I totally understood, especially about speaking Spanish too…no worries ever! You mentioned France and not doing well with French; I was sure you knew Cartagena, Spain due to that reference. Spanish and Portuguese are not as close as some think, but the people are much kinder than in France, IMHO! It’s all good on Cruise Critic💖My mind makes so many connections when someone mentions walkable/safe/etc.

Yes, I know that this one is in Cartagena, Colombia. I have been there. Maybe, re-read the entire conversation between myself and the person I quoted. I taught contemporary world cultures for 30 years, so I really do know the difference. We were talking about walkable cities, so the individual I was quoting understood what I was saying; sorry you did not understand that. However, if I am wrong, please always feel free to let me know. I wrote that Cartagena (same name) was a very walkable city in Spain, even mentioned my photo taken in Spain. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cartagena, Spain(not Columbia)would be perfect for that walk. It can be confusing, as these cities are so different. Photo below:

We have hiked the Na Pali cliffs twice on Kauai. Except for lots of mud one time, it was a very enjoyable experience. Even Molokai was quite interesting, especially about the Leper Colony...the views were absolutely gorgeous. I certainly agree that doing a land adventure is a thorough experience, but it just depends on your reasons for going by ship or by land. Hawaii is a wonderful destination with so many things to see and do, much better than the Caribbean, IMHO.

Not in today’s world you wouldn’t; however, Cartagena, Spain is quite nice, very walkable and no one gets “in your face.”

I was on her too; dressed up every night for dinner. I believe we were in an Ocean view cabin along with a table for eight. We were all around the same age and loved it!

I have been on two Apex cruises; one in Europe and a TA. Both were great, so I have booked two more in Europe with one of those a TA. I have never had a bad cruise in Europe, especially after being on so many different itineraries, some even twice. One cruise is 11 days in an SV, the TA in a suite. We will most likely participate in MoveUp, if the opportunity cost is good. The price for the European cruise, in a suite, was way too much, IMHO, but the TA was much more reasonable. I absolutely love the aft, looking at the wake in a chair because Celebrity took away the loungers! 🤪 We are also doing a comparison cruise/TA on Oceania; Miami to Portugal, so will compare the two TA’s, as fairly, as possible for future bookings. This will be my first time doing Europe twice in the same year, in the spring, and in the fall!😀

He has a boot for his achilles on one leg, not to mention a walker. The other leg has a ripped tendon, along with other damage. The achille’s leg also has a knee injury. Amazingly enough, his upper body strength is great, so he uses that and his boot to drag himself around the house. Things were bad, but no injury was quite bad enough for surgery...thank goodness.

Skiing accident at Kirkwood, CA. Since both legs were involved, the healing time will be 4-6+ months. We were just a couple of days before payment, but we had just paid our TA, so it is taking forever to have our airfare returned. We also canceled our October cruise on Ascent, but we just did the Caribbean in December. Actually, we had previously scheduled a b2b from Sydney, but changed to just Hawaii. We have been to New Zealand, but not Australia. Next year it is all Europe-my happy place!

Gosh...so sorry about that. I keep hearing about people and their mishaps. My DH is finally starting PT; we had to cancel our Hawaii cruise.. Hopefully, since time really goes by fast when retired, you will be onboard soon!
