Please help clarify wine choices in basic vs premium drink package
caviargal replied to Lorenky's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Agree that we had no high end wines this week with the Premium and no Decoy even listed. -
Another quick Celebrity vs. Oceania price comparison (suite)
caviargal replied to CruisinShips's topic in Celebrity Cruises
After just getting off Equinox, I could not agree more. They are nowhere near comparable in onboard experience, demographic and quality, not to mention the nickel and diming on X. Equinox was LOUD at main pool and crowded, with chair hogs out in full force before breakfast. Overpriced extras as well. And demographic not the same based on my experiences. -

Three of my favorites!

I am familiar with it and know it is self serve. It is much smaller and has healthier options and far fewer people. The big buffet is not my cup of tea. We will head to the sushi bar.

1st time Celebrity, trying to decide on stateroom
caviargal replied to tarheel87's topic in Celebrity Cruises
So this means they assign tables at Blu? We are traveling with our family - 10 in total - and I was concerned about dining. We normally share tables when traveling with friends but prefer a 2 top when we are not. -
Upgrading the included Classic Bevy to Premium worth it?
caviargal replied to KristyMisty14's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Interesting how they price these to be just over what Classic provides. I'll be ordering some higher end wines not covered in Premium and will post my experience with up charges. -
Yikes! Glad I thought to pack my own!

Thanks!

1st time Celebrity, trying to decide on stateroom
caviargal replied to tarheel87's topic in Celebrity Cruises
IMO it is for the AI as well as free fitness classes. We paid a VERY minimal premium and actually less than a verandah. -
Anyone know what brand is provided in Aqua Class? I've searched and googled.

Upgrading the included Classic Bevy to Premium worth it?
caviargal replied to KristyMisty14's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I drink wine and the options are not great with Classic and better with Premium. Also, DH drinks premium bourbons and none are included in Classic package. We chose to upgrade. -
The changes are being reflected in the Travel Weekly Awards
caviargal replied to Keys Kathy's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Apparently. I've been on all but VV and the only two I agree with are Oceania and Seabourn. -
Ok, hopefully the sushi bar is open. I was aware that Blu does not open for lunch. Spa Cafe would have been fine. I don't do buffet.
-
So nothing for Aqua Class?
-
Thank you!

Yikes! Looks like I will be in Solarium on this cruise.

Can anyone provide details on the kids club on Equinox? We are getting to cruise in ten days and the app is not very detailed in terms of what is offered and when. I called and could not get any details. We are traveling with extended family and have a 7 YO and a 10 YO. I see that there are sometimes evening events (7-10) which will allow them to have an adult dinner or two. I'd like to book a specialty restaurant but it's difficult without an agenda for the kids. If anyone has a sample program to share, I would be appreciative!
-
It's been years, since the last 2 were so disappointing. We are taking the extended family on Celebrity in 6 weeks as the lines we enjoy are not a fit for kids. I have VERY modest expectations.

Oceania is a premium line. I would choose an inside on O over anything on Celebrity, all day, every day. Your price comparison is apples to oranges. O ships are 1000 persons max. You are not inundated with photographers, sales of this and that. Specialty dining is included. There is no nickel and diming. If you are looking for lower price, then you found it, but the two do not compare.

We are on that sailing in Aqua Class. Mostly because of Blu and being able to avoid the MDR. We generally do not cruise on large, mass market ships but are taking extended family on a cruise and hopeful it will be a good experience for them.

We are driving from London to Dover on the 23rd and not taking chances to delay our arrival to meet the pre-assigned boarding time. We will arrive at noon and wait until they let us board.

I don't know how it is possible to monitor something like that in advance. The UK newspapers said it was holiday related. I suspect Easter will have similar. Hopefully we will not.
