  1. Then that probably means it was actually a current Princess passenger....😃
  2. We only dine in Reserve Class (Club Class) all the time and the thing we have noticed is that the dress code there is the most relaxed out of all the dining rooms. We have seen everything including overalls on formal nights in Reserve Class. We think they are more lax because people have paid extra, many are in suites and the staff just know the passengers much better so they let things slide. We were on a cruise a couple of months ago and one passenger was allowed in shorts every time and the Maitre D was always super friendly with him and his wife. We have never seen anyone asked to leave Reserve Class. The Dress Code Boogeyman is just another Princess myth as far a Reserve Class is considered.
  3. This is no longer offered when I checked this week. Let's see what happens and how people feel when they say you either can use your CCL stock OBC with FCD OBC but not both....this is just Princess going to a new low for nickeling and dining people....time to check out the other lines and just go with best deal now.
  4. We just got off the Enchanted after being on board 3 weeks and things have not calmed down. Lots of people with really bad coughs and seemed sick. My wife and I both caught some kind of bronchial bug even though we masked up as much as possible as we could.
  5. Starlink became fully operational on the Enchanted Princess on Saturday May 20, 2023. A great improvement over the internet service that was being provided prior to that on the Enchanted. Very happy!!
  6. Yes this is true but the airlines also give their Elite flyers breaks on the additional costs which would be a plus for Princess if they followed suit too.
  7. LOL....I am sure most people on the Princess CC site are holders of a 100 shares of CCL. And according to the recent share price there is nothing Carnival of Princess is doing that is impressing investors.
  8. Looks like John Padgett has his hands all over this and since he took over Princess is just being more and more Carnivalized. I am sure there is plenty more to come so hang on to your life boats beause we will need them.
  9. Hawaii cruises are very relaxed so I cannot imagine there would be a problem especially if wearing an Aloha shirt.
  10. On our last cruise which was a TA last fall a guy wore shorts every night in Club Class and the Restaurant Manager doted over him every night because he said he was a travel blogger. We see it all the time so it is not a hard and fast rule and it seems like people are more likely to be admitted than rejected by MDR staff by many posts here on CC. Princess has relaxed what people can wear and this is simply true by what we have witnessed. Have you ever seen a woman turned away from wearing shorts in the dining room. I bet not.
  11. Agree. Your family will be fine. It just is not happening that people are being turned away in mass from MDR's for casual style. If you watch, the MDR staff is having a hard enough time getting people seated and trying not to be yelled at without worrying about what passengers are wearing. It may have been that way in the past but in our experience allows a lot of exceptions in the MDR's now. The sky is just not falling in the MDR's over Princess "SUGGESTED" dress styles.
  12. Princess calls them “suggestions” for dress not “standards” or even have tos.
  13. This has been our experience too! Formal nights are way more casual than formal on most of the cruises we have been on in the last 4 or 5 years.
  14. We have done at least 5 Princess cruises out of UK and pretty much the same as the rest of the cruises we have done. I would say it was 50/50 every time. And those are my facts!!
  15. Agree whole heartedly. They should just be made into Sticky Threads and leave it at that. There is just very little truth in those who say Princess has very strictly enforced "Formal Night Dress Codes." I am sure it is very confusing too to new Princess cruisers who are seeking out helpful information about suggested dress codes but end up scrolling though differing personal opinions, experiences and preferences. They should just name any new Dress Code threads "Troll Feeding Time." 😉
  16. It is fascinating how dress codes threads on Princess run almost daily and there is no resolve. Most people know that dress codes everywhere are dying a slow death from many reasons. Princess has even started to refer to its' "formal nights" as "elegant nights." We all know that no passenger will be turned away from a Princess MDR on formal nights as long as they are not wearing flip flops or shorts. There may be exceptions to even that low bar. It appears that some on here think Princess is sailing in the Victorian Age.
  17. We sail to Europe, around Europe and the Med on Princess every year and your husband will be fine with a shirt, tie and slacks of some kind and no sport coat. We cannot understand where these high numbers of men dressed to the nines on European cruises come from. It just is not true in our opinion and observation. Enjoy your cruise and pack light. Also, you will find out when you get on the ships that Princess has a "suggested dress code" not a "mandatory dress code" but there will be those old formalists who think Princess still puts on gala balls.
  18. No matter which way you look at it it is an extra charge and more of the "nickel and dimming" creep that Princess has seemed to embark upon recently. It is hard to imagine what new fees and non-sensical extra charges they will come up with In the this year. It obviously corresponds with new management of the Princess line that has occurred.
  19. Wine can be carried on a plane in check luggage. The only restrictions in this category relate to alcohol content, which is capped at 70% or 140 proof. The wine typically falls around 11-14% alcohol so you will be fine. Overall the best way to carry wine on a plane is in checked luggage and there are many products you can buy to protect wine in a suitcase. Also, if wine is purchased in Duty Free you can carry it on a plane.
  20. Here is Princess’ full description. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/ships/reserve-collection/reserve-collection-overview-eflyer.pdf
  21. This picture is ancient history and has been used over and over to support a very formal suggested dress code by certain CC members. My belief is that is was not posted by Princess but put there by some passenger to make it look like it is an official Princess policy. It is just off a printer and not professionally printed which Princess usually does with most of their announcements on their ships. They actually have a print shop on board and this work is not consistent with a professional print shop. It is anonymous too. Nice try though!
  22. This is true. Either the formalist do not sail on Princess much or have not sailed for a long time if they still think it is all tuxes and bowties in the MDR on Formal Nights. It just is not so anymore as so many have attested to on CC.
  23. If they take away the free laundry too then what is the point of being an Elite or any level in the Captain's Circle program. We will definitely being going to other cruise lines then because we do fairly long cruises and the free laundry is what keeps us coming back to Princess.
