  1. Thank you for the update. We have family onboard this sailing. They were part of our group in June but our Daughter from another mother is now expecting. So, they needed to move the cruise to an earlier date. This is their first cruise and first time in Alaska. I hope it goes well and look forward to your updates.
  2. I'm not sure if going through a big box make you ineligible for the offers. But, try going to the Royal Up site, put in your info and see if anything is available: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade
  3. Is this an issue in the guest cabins and are they moving guests to accommodate? I can handle most anything as long as I have a working bathroom and air conditioner. Being a cold weather cruise, air is not quite as critical.
  4. I don't know what options were given for Royal Up, but I would be very selective going from a Crown Loft Suite. Not sure if your room is side facing or back facing. Which means you would have a view of the ocean to the side or the activities on the back of the ship but also a view aft. Those rooms are just not quite as private but some love them because they enjoy watching the activities. The Crown Loft Suites are also on Deck 17 next to the Coastal Kitchen. The hallways are very spacious with very little foot traffic. Down one floor to the Windjammer. The biggest draw for me is the two bathrooms. The Two Bedroom Grand Suite is a very nice room. Large living room, smaller separate bedroom, does have a tv, the bathroom for that room is across the hall. The Main BR has it's own bath. Balcony is very nice sized. The WOW factor is in the Crown Loft, but the 2BR the kids/guests have their own bedroom and bed instead of the couch. Sky Class. The Owner's Suite is also a beautiful large room, but you will be giving up the extra bathroom. Does have a huge balcony. This is Sky Class room as well. The One Bedroom Aqua Suite same thing except the room is a little smaller and the balcony larger. Also Sky Class. I would not give up a Crown Loft for this room unless I really just wanted to see what an Aqua Suite was about. Or, didn't have kiddos. If you bid on the other upper suites, those are Star Class, I think (?) all of them have the second bath and all of them have the drinks/dining/tips/internet included along with a Genie. Hope that helps.
  5. I hope this doesn't happen in June, I'll be out both whale watching excursions. Like you I'll be staying for Glacier Bay. Should be an interesting Live. Thank you for sharing.
  6. Sometimes it hard to see the forest for the trees! We lived in Central Florida for over 16 years. The majority in Davenport, but it was really on Hwy 27 north of what used to be Baseball City back in the day. DH and the kids worked for the Mouse. I don't even recognize the area when we visit.
  7. So, doesn't that make you eligible for the recovery letter? I know on Oasis Class ships there are two types of loft suites. Star Loft Suites are in Star Class and get all the extras (drinks, dining, internet, tips) included along with a Genie. The Genie will give you a personal escort on the ship, assist with all dining and show arrangements, and just about anything else that you might want. They are like your own personal butler/concierge. Crown Loft Suites are not as expensive, rooms are still beautiful, and do no include all the extras. Nor do they have a Genie. But, you do have the Suite Concierges who can help with certain arrangements. There are normally two and help all suite guests.
  8. I'm assuming as well based on their location. Assuming they are on Oasis leaving out of Bayonne and Port Canaveral will be a port stop.
  9. Straight from the Princess website: Alaska’s Inside Passage is nothing short of breathtaking. Encompassed by tranquil waters, one moment you can be sailing a wide bay of barrier islands and the next you’re cruising through a narrow waterway flanked by towering forested walls. That’s the splendid spectacle of these serene landscapes — the scenery is constantly changing, from picturesque shores to friendly coastal towns. It was usually sailed from Ketchikan to Victoria. Since there is land mass on both sides, it didn't matter which side of the ship your cabin was on, you could see some very pretty scenery. Alaska is so beautiful, you just want to see all of that.
  10. Star Loft Suite has the Genie. If it's a Crown Loft Suite that is Sky Class and will not have a Genie. However, the Suite Concierge does email a week in advance and may be able to assist.
  11. So, the information is pulled from the Medallion itself, not the Medallion App? In Miami I had issues with cell service in the terminal and was glad I also had the printed documents.
  12. Well, that is disappointing as well. I wonder why they can't do the Inside Passage. Would it add that much additional mileage?
  13. Are they doing Hair over there? I assumed that would be very politically incorrect....
  14. Happy Birthday, Abie Baby should go over real well Love that song. Also love 'Easy to be Hard'.
  15. I bet you let them drink out of a garden hose??!! How will they ever grow up? OP, I didn't have any dish soap, just used one of the wash cloths and wiped the cup and top down in the sink and let it dry over night. As others have suggested, you could probably ask for a new one part-way through the cruise. Enjoy!!
  16. I have congestion from allergies for which I take medication. I don't feel I should answer Yes because I happen to be allergic to pecan trees. The other questions relate to fatigue, nausea, headaches, etc. I take chemo and that is my day. The questions are pretty vague and don't take into account other health issues causing the same symptoms.
  17. Ahhh, some great musicals. Played pit orchestra for Music Man, Pick a Little, Talk a Little is like an earworm. But, I also like Cats
