  1. For a unique excursion I suggest the Mailboat run. It visits several islands in the bay. We really enjoyed it. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. The prices is $14.50 for seniors and leaves from a pier near where the ship docks. I heard about it on CC--I think from chengkp75. This is the description from the site:: Mailboat Tour - Casco Bay Mail Run from Portland Maine (cascobaylines.com)- Hop on the Mailboat Run! The locals’ favorite way to experience Casco Bay – this true working boat carries passengers, mail and freight to Little Diamond, Great Diamond, Long, Cliff and Chebeague Islands. Year-round availability
  2. Delta-- thank you for keeping this going. Hope the bug passes soon.🙂
  3. Thanks for posting. I like it. We get one on our Vision cruise in May. I hope they have used all of the old ones and we get the new one. My fleet is much smaller. 🤣
  4. I agree. This would save the waiters time by not having to carry around dressing when a salad is served. But this is a poor way to dress a salad. . . . and what about the passenger that wants more dressing? I can just see a large group of people at corporate sitting in a room brainstorming all of the ways they can cut costs and save time for kitchen staff/waiters. [which saves money] They put most of these into practice with the new menu. As criticism gets too much regarding something, they pull back on those. It will be a few months before the dust settles. JMHO
  5. Really glad to hear that. I like usually ask for a baked potato a few times each cruise.
  6. They do not want you to plan outside DIY things. They want you to purchase the add-ons from them. That is why I suggested the OP research on that forum. For example. Rather than the more expensive sled dog tour [which I have heard is excellent] I went to the National Park Service sled dog demonstration for free. We saw the demo and we were able to pet the dogs. It was very good and it was all I needed. YMMV With kids you may want to ride a sled. We also followed the Denali puppy cam during the year.
  7. I highly suggest you spend a fair amount of time reading the Alaska port of call forum. I began reading it AFTER I booked. If I had read it before I would have done a few things differently. The people who post there have so much knowledge and are not afraid to share an opinion. For example, my tour was going to include the Denali Natural History tour which I found out only goes 25 miles into the park. I exchanged this for the Tundra Wilderness tour which goes much farther. People on that forum told me I would not see many animals on the history tour. The train cars are very nice. It was an 8 hr trip from Denali to anchorage--but, we enjoyed it. The windows are huge and everyone can see well. The day was cloudy as we left the park, but we soon had sunshine. The scenery is amazing. I noted another person said it was a dud. We had a clear day and beautiful sights. JMHO Only about a third of visitors get to see a full view of Denali. We were so lucky. There was a photographer near us. We heard he fist bump and say that this was the money shot. LOL Denali from the train. They slowed the train down so we could all get views and pictures. I enlarged this--but such a great sight! YMMV
  8. OK, we will need to stay away from that one.
  9. So what is the elevator doing? We board the Vision in a few weeks.
  10. I understand the desire of the cruise line to improve efficiency and therefore costs. However, these plain options of an already planned meal should not make a big difference.
  11. Thank you for posting. DH is a picky eater and often orders the grilled chicken 2-3 times on a longer cruise. This change will make a big difference to him.
  12. We were in an Owner's Suite on the Voyager in August. [1308] We did not have any issues with noise in our cabin. It was a great cabin, and we were lucky to get it. We won a Royal Up bid from a JS to get it. I should mention that our cruise was less than 50% full and there were lots of upgrades on that cruise. I told DH to enjoy it we would not be able to afford this again. 😁
  13. I do not have any OBC showing yet. I checked my cruise planner and the Premier pass still shows as reserved. I only bought 1. edit: I see your cruise is before mine. [April 28] Maybe they are doing it in order of cruise date.
  14. Yes, charged my card and I got a confirmation email.
  15. So, I just bought this for us. I only booked for me. If they charge for two it is not worth it for 2 D+ on a 3-day cruise. I will cancel
  16. I see this for my 3-day Liberty sailing. Wish this was for the second part of this B2B. DH does not use the internet so as D+ we get 4 days total on a 3-day cruise and he does not drink wine. It is not showing on my two 10-day cruises. [way too good to be true for those]. It is not as big a deal for 3 days. DH is not sure if we want it. Hope they do not realize their mistake while he makes up his mind. HaHa
  17. Thank you so much. All three cruises are there. I had been going to that screen and going sideways. It kept taking me to my reservations. I had to scroll all the way to the top to see the "Select a different cruise >". Now I feel really foolish. [but it won't be the last time] Ha Ha Ha😀😜
  18. I can see my next cruise on the Royal app and have used this to make MTD reservations, etc. However, I have 2 other cruises booked. I just booked an add-on cruise yesterday that is actually before the one that is showing. Check in date for that cruise will be soon. How do I get those other cruises to appear in the app? And how do I go back and forth between them. I am sure it is something simple--I just can't figure it out. TIA PS. I did search on this forum and on the technology forum. I could not find an answer.
  19. That is often what I do. However, on the Enchantment last time they did not run the usual special for the last three days. So, I had to pay a little more. If they charge the stream rate that will raise it even a more. [I know it is a first world problem]
  20. Glad the C and A benefit covers the upgraded internet. However, I do not watch videos, etc. Depending on the length of the cruise I sometimes used my 2-day benefit or DH benefit to buy a plan. Now that will be more expensive. We were recently on the Celebrity Beyond and the included Starlink internet [surf] was really not much better than the old internet. However, those that had the streaming internet felt it was much better.
  21. So will the D+ benefit still cover 2 days of this upgraded internet?
  22. I would like to ask this same question in reverse. We are arriving in Bayonne from a Canada/New England cruise and we would like to take Amtrak to Baltimore Washington Airport. [DD can pick us up from there] There is an 11:52am train that I do not feel would rush us. We took an Amtrak from BWI to EWR in October and stayed at an airport hotel. We took an Uber to the port the next day. Easy-peasy. Should we take an uber/taxi to Newark Penn station or to EWR to board the train? Currently the Amtrak cost is $28 pp. That is similar to what we paid on the trip last year. I read that the EWR station is only meant for people taking flights. Also, we had to take the airport Sky train to the terminal. I am thinking it is easier to take the Uber to the Penn station to board? Are there elevators to get to track level? DH has some mobility issues and the whole process last rip of Amtrak to terminal and out to where we picked up airport hotel shuttle about did him in.
  23. It was a money grab pure and simple at the end. I am going to be generous and say it had a useful purpose at the beginning.
