  1. Waldo's specialty, checking out the different nuances of a particular buffets offerings. Have to be judicious when deciding to sample or indulge. There are multiple ways of attacking a buffet. 😁
  2. There are two lines, one for those with reservations and another for walk ups. They open at 645, which IMHO is a joke since other lines open at 530 or so for their version of MTD. Benny had mentioned about the Windjammer being jammed when he stopped to peruse and possibly have a snack before he went to the MDR later in the evening. If people are used to eating at 600, they are relegated to either the Windjammer or early set dining. If you want flexibility, you need to be flexible and start at 645 or later.
  3. That's deck 7, which has zero porthole cabins, since they are all down on decks 1 & 2, like I previously stated. You must have been in a 4J cabin which is very similar to an oceanview. It has a rectangular window and a walkway outside your cabin. It's the most expensive inside cabin available on that class of ship. You basically save money over the price of an OV. They are very popular and sell quickly. Enjoy your upgrade.
  4. Little confused. The porthole cabins are all on decks 1 & 2, so you can't move down a few floors to a balcony. Maybe you were in a 4J cabin at the bow of the ship, which are on higher decks from 6-10 and you were moved lower and to the aft. You will feel less movement on a lower deck as well as being aft instead of at the very front of the ship. Plus, you're now closer to the MDR.
  5. You sailed on two rust buckets in NCL's fleet and the POA has an all American crew due to it being a US flagged ship so you're stuck with the attitudes that go along with it. If you have time to kill one day, check out the YouTube previews of the Prima, it's going to be a game changer for them, similar to how the Oasis Class was for RCI.
  6. Possibly it will be cheaper during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. Was the 73 you paid before or after gratuity?
  7. That's a good thing since a 6 pack pp divided by a 7 day cruise is less than a can a day.
  8. That is oh so true. Especially over the next 8 months, since you're in Europe twice and also down under, right?
  9. The compass that Benny posted said BOGO 1/2 off @ 98.00. So, 98 + 49.00 = 147 + 18% gratuity or 173.46 ÷ 2 = 86.73 pp.
  10. Otherwise known as those who are entitled, those who are really entitled and those who are above entitlement.
  11. Looks like an active working dog, not one of those fake "anxiety" lap dogs with BS document papers.
  12. You're located in Arizona. Were any of your deals for any cruises east of the Mississippi or were they on the Panorama, Radiance or to Alaska since that is where the west coasters get deals to. I live in the Northeast, have cruised Carnival 20 times since 1986 and currently have 7 cruises booked on the Excel Class. Have never gotten a free deal or anything close to a free deal.
  13. Bingo is not gambling. Only the degenerates in the casino get all the deals because of the way they add to the bottom line profit of Carnival.
  14. Oasis June 22. 249.00 Freedom November 22. 161.00 Anthem April 23. 249.00 Had it for 65.00 for August 21. Cruise was cancelled. The above three are cruises I have booked that will stop at CocoCay.
  15. Never heard of this. Could you explain in more detail please.
  16. Last day..and why should it take multiple hours to pack, 20 minutes max.
  17. No guts, huh? You opened the door, it's impolite if others don't walk through it
  18. Ginny. The Princess Plus package is 40 bucks a day, after factoring out the tips, it's 25.50 a day for wifi and drink package. RCI can't touch it. Even with the 15 drink maximum, would you rather pay 25.50 or 3 times as much on RCI just to be able to drink over 15 per day. If you need that much every day, I feel sorry for your liver.
  19. Just started reading the thread. 40 pp to Bermuda even if you don't get off the ship. It's bad enough with the higher taxes and maybe it could be justified if you're going to be there for 3 days, but for a 1 day stop adding an extra 80 to the kitty is a no go for me. Did a similar 9 day cruise years ago on the Explorer out of Bayonne. Since Bermuda will be accustomed to the cash flow, it could be a permanent thing. Worst thing that could happen is if other ports decide to follow suit.
