I've killed one of those before! I loved the way it smelled like chocolate. I bought it in Hawaii and they shipped it home for me. Poor plant, it never knew what was coming when it was entrusted to my care. 🤪

I agree, loss of internet is far worse than loss of hot water because of all the modern technology that can’t function without internet. We are fortunate that our son lives 4 minutes away and we could take showers at their house. I hope you are back up and running soon.

I don't feel so bad now for not having hot water for 3 days after our water heater crapped out Friday night. At least we had internet. 🙂

I love a good gps, but I love a good map even more. If you always rely on a gps, it’s hard to learn where places are in relation to each other. One thing I loved about AAA was how the gal at the desk could read and highlight the map while looking at it upside down.

So who is to blame for this? I say the idiot father. Sure, his previous ticket purchase fell through, but it was his choice to pay a scalper this much just because he wanted the pleasure of making his teenage daughter happy. I have no sympathy for this guy and I feel sorry for his daughter.

That corn looks soooooo yummy! I found some really good corn last week in, of all places, our "Neighborhood Walmart." Usually their produce is sub-standard, but this was a fresh delivery from somewhere else, definitely not around here, and it was delicious. By the way, there are both ears and feet in your picture. 🙂

Bob, that tutorial was a real eye-opener. I am amazed at the types of things ChatGPT can do, such as writing code. In my former life I used to create applications using ColdFusion, so I told it to write CF code to generate a calendar for May 2023 in a table format. Simple task, but nevertheless, it was amazing to watch the code generate on the screen. Thanks for sharing the video.

My older son who is a sous vide fanatic is now raving over his newest appliance, also made by Anova the sous vide people, a combination convection/steam oven: https://anovaculinary.com/products/anova-precision-oven It's rather pricey, but he swears by it, and my younger son is planning to buy one also, after he had ribs that his brother made in it. I like the idea that it does the sous-vide-like cooking and browns the food as well. Anybody heard of this type oven?

I like the idea of vacuum sealing smaller portions and then freezing after the sous vide. I have one but don’t often use it. I think I will get some ribs and give your method a whirl.

What a frightening video!

I am the same way. Creative endeavors stress me out big time...like the Christmas tree art I made using my mother's jewelry. Even though I finally ended up with something I really like, the path to get there was awful and I would never want to attempt that again. I prefer following instructions over selecting materials and putting them together creatively.

That is a very ambitious project. I'm sure your daughter will be delighted.
