  1. The late Miss Priss could be a feisty girl and difficult to get into the carrier. One of our veterinarians was even afraid of her, and they would wrap her in a towel to examine her. She would snarl, hiss, scratch, you name it. Our best method for getting her into the carrier would be to scruff her by the back of the neck like a mama picks up her kittens and hope for the best. Of course, once she was at the vet, she was very eager to get back into the carrier!
  2. I'll have to mark my Calendar, and drive to a location with a better view. Around 1970 I saw one as I was driving around in Macon Georgia. That moon was red, enormous and close to the horizon. I wish I had a camera with me. I need a way to print a view that lives in my memory .
  3. I was late to the moon party but at least got a little peek at something. I enjoyed seeing the pictures posted by @Ocean Boy@h20skibum Is the moon event continuing tomorrow night?
  4. In Marcel's old age he has mellowed and become very much of a lap cat. He even enjoys being cradled in Andy's arms like a baby. He would never tolerate that when he was younger.
  5. I love this photo. I bet one of our resident Photoshop experts could edit out the people in the background for you. 🙂
  6. Wow. I like that his plant seems to grow upright. The stems on mine get so long that they droop down towards the floor.
  7. Thank you for posting the video. I saw there was actually a second flower opening behind the one in front. It must be incredible when your dad's wall of plants blooms all at once. I tried to post a response to you earlier but my solar keyboard battery died. Andy had to get me up and running again.
  8. Awww, poor little Miata. I used to have a red one. But I never drove with the top down and the windows up. 🙂 I did, however drive with the top down, windows down, and heat on.
  9. Too bad about the whipper snipper incident. I'd love to see the time lapse video, though.
  10. My Night Blooming Cereus opened tonight. The flowers last just one night and have a strong sweet fragrance. I love the details inside the flower. The plant itself is rather homely but the flowers are spectacular. It usually blooms in September but decided to make an early appearance. Maybe it will bloom again in a couple of months.
  11. I had to look up "mystery knit along." That sounds like fun, and I can see how you would need to trust the designer.
  12. I love all the angles and patterns of the different stitches. Did you follow a specific pattern, or did you design this yourself? As always, I'm intrigued.
  13. I'm glad for the early detection. May she enjoy many more years of mutual happiness with you.
  14. Greg, I'm so sorry to hear your knee situation is worse than you thought, requiring a knee replacement, and that Linda needs hand surgery as well. I thought you were going to say she needs back surgery. Is her back doing better? Hugs to you both, and hoping that you will both find relief.
  15. So true! I went from a convertible to a SUV when we moved close to our 1 1/2 year old granddaughter.
  16. Graham, at first I had to chuckle that you thought 75°F was considered hot. Where we are, it was a muggy 89°F today. But we have air conditioning and I don't think I would enjoy trying to sleep in a humid 75°F. It reminded me of a conversation I had years ago with one of my best friends. She was probably 110 pounds and was struggling with the fact that she had gained a little weight and her pants were too tight. At first I wanted to scoff at her, but then I realized, it's all relative. A skinny gal who gains weight has the same problem that someone at any weight feels when they gain a few pounds and their clothes don't fit. That experience reminded me I needed to keep things in perspective and be more accepting of how one feels in a situation. So here's hoping that you will soon have cooler, more comfortable weather. Cheers!
  17. So, do you want to win the battle and lose the war? Choose your battles wisely. 😉
  18. Deb, if these trees are in bloom now, they are probably Kousa Dogwoods. We had a cream colored one in northern Virginia. Very pretty trees, with tons of blooms.
  19. Your needle skills are so intriguing. I always like to zoom in on your pictures. The colored rectangles used for blocking the piece on the mat are clever. I've never done any of that stuff, but I enjoy seeing how it's done. .
