  1. Thankfully, my taste and smell senses have started to return today. So sorry yours have been gone so long. Over 20 years ago Andy first experienced a distorted sense of smell, then lost taste and smell completely for about a year. He found Dr. Henkin at the Taste and Smell Clinic in DC. and was evaluated and treated. Andy eventually experienced a complete recovery. I hope you do, too.
  2. Andy and I enjoyed talking with you and Marty. I would love to have a copy of the picture, please. My address is my screen name at gmail. Thank you!
  3. Maryann, so sorry you were "deflowered" by Covid too. We were able to get meds prescriebed via telehealth visit with our doctor. Maybe you could also? Hopefully Jim, Carol and her Andy remain unscathed. @Momof3gurlz, my knee is doing pretty well, thanks. The worst part about Covid has been losing my sense of taste and smell. I learned that an over easy egg is nothing more than an unpleasant glob of goo when you can't smell or taste it. Texture is important. I did enjoy a Payday candy bar tonight. My brain knew from memory exactly where the salty and sweet parts were. I can also detect the fresh feeling of mint, so I'm going to ask my son or DIL to pick up some mint chocolate chip ice cream. Also, Deb, I'm glad you and Andy made it home tonight. That's a long trip!
  4. I should have read more posts before I googled longboard transplant human body. The first thing that comes up is this. It’s for a head transplant. 😱 That’s creepy. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6511668/ Oh my, what a picture I have in my head now. And right at lunchtime too!
  5. I hope you and Carol don’t get it. But so far I feel like I just have a cold. Sorry to hear about your neighbor. That’s scary.
  6. My knee is much better, thanks. I had to cancel my ortho appointment, though... both Andy and I brought home the souvenir nobody wants.... we have covid.
  7. Wow, what an awesome cruise this was! I appreciate the immense effort put forth by John, Andrew, Sue, Greg, Ken and others. We didn't get to meet everyone, but we certainly enjoyed seeing Bella fans throughout the ship wherever we went. We have already booked Bella #2 so we can spend more time with you folks, as well as others who weren't able to join this time. I posted Saturday that I became wheelchair-bound when my knee went whack-o. That was certainly a strange situation to be in, and my loss of mobility and independence may have caused me to shed a tear or two. I appreciate all the kind wishes and suggestions that came from my fellow Bella cruisers. That really helped a lot! We ended up getting day passes to the AA lounge so we could wait comfortably for our 9 PM flight. That was a great suggestion. I'm happy to report that when I woke up this morning, my knee felt much better, and I ditched the crutches I got from medical. I see the ortho tomorrow. Here's hoping this was just a temporary thing. Well, now it's time for a Cosmo, but I can't find a bartender. Dang.
  8. Yes, @Luckynana I was in the conga line last night with you guys. I think I was behind Andy #3, with my Andy behind me. The Quest was fun!
  9. So, yesterday my bad knee got worse, and this morning I couldn't walk on it. We had no choice but to have me wheeled down to medical. They did what they could, which was to give me a wheelchair and a cane. I would like some crutches but they convinced me that was not a good idea. We have a 9 pm flight tomorrow and we're planning to do a hop on hop off tour to pass the time, but now that's out. We may just end up spending the day at the airport. Yikes. I'm not sure what to do about that. Can I cry now?
  10. Yesterday in Cozumel we took a Mexican cooking class. We met at a market and learned how to pick out the best fruits and vegetables, then went to our host's home. He prepared most of the food, while he explained proper techniques and ingredients. We had hibiscus flower water, pumpkin seed dip, red and green sauces, salsa, guacamole, black beans, ceviche, quesadillas, mango and cucumber salad, rice, tinga, mango, and .margaritas.
  11. Welcome aboard, Dadof3gurlz. My Andy (aka Mirored) is coming along with me too. He used to live geographically close to you guys, and our son and grandkids still live just over the state line in Connecticut. :Looking forward to meeting you both.
