How formal is formal night?
Bailey & Sophie replied to Babyjax12's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We don't do formal anymore. We do spiff up a bit but we leave the sparkles and suits in the closet at home. HOWEVER, we usually eat all our meals in the Windjammer. We like the informality of it there. -
Onboard shops free jewelry charms?
Bailey & Sophie replied to superduper123's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I've walked into many port jewelry store and have received free jeweled earrings. I don't know if they're real gems or glass. I usually will spend the $8.00 or so for a matching necklace. No sales pitch. -
Vegetarian and Coeliac - advice please
Bailey & Sophie replied to gingerpeaches's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I was just going to suggest this review. She has detailed info about the foods she ate in her recent Alaska cruise. -
If you have time in San Juan, try to do the forts. They are fabulous. If anyone in your group has the National Parks Passport card, entrance fees are free. Young kids might enjoy Pigeon Park. A woman sells corn (minor charge) and you can feed pigeons. Ok...they will land on your shoulders and head, but I thought that was part of the fun. There's Umbrella Street, just down from the government building. Lots of shops & restaurants with stuff hanging overhead. It changes. It used to be umbrellas, but I have seen pics lately of kites or butterflies. I haven't been there but it's on my list for next March.

Didn't she add rum or something to the batter? I don't eat French toast but I'd willingly get drunk on it if it was spiked.

I don't make pie crust but have a hint from a fabulous crust maker... Don't roll the crust out on a floured surface. It will add more flour to the crust and make it tough. Instead, roll it out on plastic wrap and then you won't be adding additional flour. It will also add support and be easier to fold in half and place it in the pie pan. I got the hint on the promise I wouldn't share. Oops.
