Thank you very much @cavaaller for your live review! I am sorry it did not get as much attention as it deserves, apparently due to the distraction caused by the IT transition. Did you happen to pay a visit to the spa/T-pool? A recent review (https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=698117) suggests that "They have cocktail servers coming in to serve guests which contributes to a rather loud and crowded atmosphere... Imagine it’s fun to be with your group in a private setting yet change the name of the Spa from Sanctum to Sorority House." Any observations to corroborate? Thanks

They appear to admit that the check-in readiness on May 15 is wishful thinking. Given their stubborn reluctance to start the embarkation process earlier, the real mess will greet you in the port in the foreseeable future. I would suggest arriving for embarkation as late as possible to avoid that mess, but then again you will be late to book the special restaurants. And the excursions.

There are blames for RCI/Celebrity-related data corruption being the reason for the Azamara's IT fiasco. Perhaps. The problem, however, is that they have been working for a week or so trying to sort out the existing bookings sailing in the next 30 days. I daresay those represent ~5% out of the 30,000 individual bookings they need to sort out. I guess the extrapolation and the underlying unfortunate conclusions are straightforward.

FWIW, there was a discussion on the structural vibrations on which a professional input was provided: Based on that discussion, I would excpect that 1) The vibrations in the Owners suites should go down as you go up, i.e., the maximum vibrations would be on deck 6 and minimum vibrations - on deck 8. Although anything is possible given the variability in the actual construction. 2) To get out of the resonance, a small change in the propeller/ship speed could be enough. That is, the OP may want to request a minor change in the speed (0.5 knot?) and see what happens.

OK. The itinerary on Joy is much better, you are a single ship in Roatan and Belize. You are not going to be in Haven proper, but a short elevator ride will get you there. I believe a family villa will become available closer to the sailing date, and the price differential would be relatively small, so that you have a good chance to snag a really great suite for your family at a reasonable price. There are often specials in the Haven restaurant (specials = new mains that are not on the menu) which could justify dining there over, say five evenings. At the same time, it is never as crowded as Luminae. For your daughter, there is a higher chance to make friends in the Haven than in the Retreat, if she wants to of course. Entertainment of Joy could also be much better than on Beyond, just look at their shows. Bottom line, I would not hesitate to book Joy's Haven

You are considering Joy sailing on April 8-15, correct? If so, what particular suite do you have in mind? What I see as available are a variety of penthouse suites, none of which are particularly large

Also, if this is important to you, with a higher suite on Oceania, you can board at 11 am and your cabin is ready at this time (2 pm+ on Azamara). You can make reservations for their specialty restaurants online and well before most other pax (only after boarding on Azamara that again starts at 2 pm for everyone).

Oceania suite would offer you a jacuzzi on the balcony, something you would appreciate on the TA cruise.

If you go down the main page on Cruise Critic, you will see a long list of the members who happen to have a birthday today. It turns out that vast majority from this list over any given day in a year, are members with 0 posts. To me, this means that the tiny fraction of members with >0 posts is not a representative sample of the CC member population. Not to mention that the CC community itself is a tiny fraction of people who cruise, and may or may not be representative of the general "cruise" population..

I will appreciate an advice whether any particular aft-located Q5 or Q6 has a curtain separating the bedroom from the living room on Queen Victoria. Hope to get an input from those who sailed Ovation or Encore.. I am considering an Ovation voyage in March 2024 that calls to three tender ports in the Caribbean, all of which are very tempting. The challenge is that DW has back problems and is able to make a few stairs only. She walks OK on flat surfaces and swims very well. I called Seabourn's accessibility department that then redirected me to a shorex department. Bottom line, I was told that Ovation has a special lift for tendering on the starboard side only, whereas the tendering can occur on either side. So, how many stairs would tendering imply? The same question is about the access to ship's Marina - it appears there is an elevator to get to Marina's level, but are there stairs to get to the water? Thanks in advance!
