  1. If you can swing it, book a Sky Suite. Provided space is available, you will be able to dine in Blu as well as the four MDRs. Luminae would be your designated dining room, but one does not have to eat there. Your Personal Retreat Host (Butler) would handle all other dining arrangements.
  2. I ordered these as well as the black one with the crescent moons. To my surprise, they look good on this slightly overweight, very short septuagenarian. I'll have to hem them the up of course, but I have to do that with everything. Hope you return home tomorrow is uneventful. I look forward to your next Live. Kay
  3. Noticed your favorite cruise line is Princess - if you are looking for a pizza parlor like Alfredo's, the answer is no. You can get pizza on a Celebrity ship, but it's from a station located in the buffet area - nothing at all like the Alfredo's experience. 🍕 However, the Edge class ships do have many other great places to dine.
  4. Checked the price for the Prime Concierge staterooms on our Oct, 2023 Summit Canada cruise - increase of $578 p/p for same perks with this "sale."
  5. Graphics are not my strong suit, but maybe this will help. The staterooms on the "angle" have the deeper balconies. (Red circles) The angled balconies are booked quickly on most cruises. Some people dislike the mid-ship forward facing deeper balconies as they are not protected from the wind like the aft facing ones. The staterooms on the top two decks have an overhang that provides more shade. (Orange lines) Because the overhang obstructs your view up, these are deemed less desirable by some.
  6. Great minds think alike - this is one of the patterns I selected I went to the website. K
  7. We stayed at the Doubletree in 2019 because of the free shuttle. In retrospect, wish we had chosen a hotel closer to restaurants/drug stores. The marina area was beautiful, but remote. YMMV Doubletree by Hilton San Pedro 2800 Via Cabrillo Marina
  8. Jamie - thank you so much for taking the time to post the links - you have great taste in clothes, although the pants do give me flashbacks to the 70s! Love the sandals. I shall start working on acquiring my newest cruise uniform. Kay
  9. Hi - you may find it useful to post your same inquiry on the West Coast Departures board. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/ CC member Bruin Steve lives in the LA area and is a font of local knowledge. Recent info on hotels:
  10. My day started with laughter thanks to your comments on No muster-No drinks, upselling in the spa and the Inca Sun God in the casino. If you are not adverse to being photographed, I'd love to see some of your cruise uniforms. I tend to wear denim capris and knit tops - WAY too hot for the Caribbean. Thanks to posts from Gen X, I'm expanding my cruise wardrobe to include sun dresses. Loose slacks and linen shirts sound ideal as well! Thanks in advance - Kay
  11. This happened on our last cruise - didn't know why the OBC went up pre-cruise and wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth before we boarded. Once onboard, between Guest Services and a few emails to my TA, I was able to get it all sorted out. We were accustomed to refundable OBC from the TA, but had no trouble "spending" the NR from their promotion. If it shows up in your Planner, you should be able to spend it pre-cruise.
  12. Would two 4 tops that are right next to each other be acceptable to your group? This arrangement would be easier to get than an 8 top and you could all still talk to one another. You could make advance reservations for 2 tables each night, then talk to the Maître d' on boarding day to arrange for the same two adjacent tables each night.
  13. As an FYI - unless something has changed since April, the non-premium bottled water is actually in metal cans. Some have said it tastes tinny.
  14. Posted this in FL Departures Forum - lots of reads but no responses. Cross posting to see if anyone can help. Thanks - Kay First time Uber user: where is the Uber pick-up point at Port Everglades - Terminal 25? is Uber Black available in Ft. Lauderdale - I don't see it as a choice on the Uber app? what is the difference between Uber Premier and Uber Premium? can just 2 people request an Uber Premier SUV? We usually book a town car/livery service, but thought we would try Uber from the port to a Hollywood area hotel. Thanks in advance.
