  1. No pier runners. Bye Bermuda. Hope you and Jeremy enjoyed my favorite island! I'm certainly enjoying your Live.
  2. Faced with being quarantined in an Oceanview stateroom, I believe some couples were choosing separate staterooms. Thought process being, if both were in an Oceanview and one person was sleeping, the other was left sitting in a dark room. Even with a balcony, the non-sleeper would be limited in their possible activities while spouse/partner slept. Also - potentially 10 days - locked in a room together - even the best of relationships might begin to show strain. 💕 💔
  3. Charla & Jeremy - Hope you have a wonderful cruise and enjoy all that Bermuda has to offer. (Bermuda is one of our favorite places as we honeymooned there and have been back multiple times either by air or via the sea.) Right now the NY Harbor webcam is on the Summit, so hopefully we'll be able to watch your sail away - I'll be looking for that lovely pink dress at the Sunset Bar. 🍹 🛳️ Fair winds and Following seas - Kay
  4. Since the OP is not a regular Celebrity cruiser, I was attempting to give her some useful information. People keep telling her to call the Engagement Center, but no one is providing a phone number! Sorry your experience with the Engagement Center was so unsatisfying.
  5. Haven't located a phone number - perhaps someone else will provide a phone contact since you are not a regular Celebrity customer. Maybe these will help: CelebrityEngagementCenter@celebrity.com Jennifer Morales - Director JenniferMorales@celebrity.com Good luck in getting this resolved.
  6. Would it be possible to book a 4th person into one inside stateroom as a solo (spouse, significant other, adult child, favorite neighbor) and link the reservations together. When that 4th person is a no-show (because they never were planning to go on the cruise), can you go to the Suite Concierge and ask if you can have access to that cabin since it is already paid for and is linked to your reservation? I've never been a no-show so don't know how it works.
  7. Very cool - thank you for posting. How long was this in "real time"? While the reason for diverting to Nassau was unfortunate and I hope the passenger is all right, it is always beautiful to approach a port after dark, IMHO.
  8. Question - if the OP has already paid for an alcohol upgrade, presumable separate from the Aqua fare, why would that upgrade not carry over with an accepted Move Up bid?
  9. Jim - so sorry to hear this. Hope all goes smoothly so you can board as planned.
  10. We used Cata Black Car Service in March. They utilize large SUVs, a bit of a challenge to get into for this old broad with arthritic knees, but the service was excellent. (Black Car Service where we live means large sedans.) Our vehicle did not pick up us near the terminal, as expected. Rather, we walked quite a distance with the driver into a parking garage to get to the SUV. Long way to carry a heavy, over-packed travel purse. If you haven't already, you may want to post on the Florida Departures board for advice from locals. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/
  11. This is great that Celebrity went the extra mile, but I would venture to guess that it had less to do with "corporate" Celebrity policies and more to do with the ship culture that is fostered by Capt. Kate on Beyond. She seems to be about service - not a position taken by all captains.
  12. Does location make a difference to you? From what I can tell, many of the A1 Aqua staterooms on Deck 11 are under the pool and some of the A2 staterooms are under the Fitness Center. Pool might not be used as much in Alaska, but noise could still be an issue. https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-ships/celebrity-eclipse Scroll down to bottom of page for deck plans. Select the correct date range for your sailing from the pull-down menu. The upgrade to Aqua may be free because the Aqua staterooms aren't selling and an available sunset veranda would be snapped up in a New York minute. We have a sunset veranda for our Alaska cruise next year and there is no way we're giving it up. YMMV.
  13. That's when you turn up the music loud! 😁
  14. However, don't upload your passport photo. I did this on our last cruise, and the Port Everglades terminal check-in person said new photos had to be taken. Never did understand why.
  15. Thank you! Good to know - have to do some online shopping before our next cruise. K
  16. We were in a Sky Suite on Edge and there is no bar in the bath to hook anything to or hang anything over. I've looked at videos of non-suite staterooms and they don't seem to have shower door bars either. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.) There was also nowhere to connect a line with velcro loops. (At least nowhere that wouldn't kill you if you had to get up in the middle of the night.) I had these clips. Ended up clipping unmentionables to them, then stringing them together in a way they were never designed to do (DH is an engineer) and hanging them around both door handles into the bath. Not ideal, but served the need. https://www.amazon.com/yueton-Clothes-Clothesline-Windproof-Multicolor/dp/B014QMPIR2 We were able to hang magnets on the stateroom walls, so they must be metal. One could hang wet things over the bar in the closet, but that is certainly less than optimum. Never had this problem on S or M class ships - a major fail in the E class IMHO.
  17. Sadly, no. The wonderful glass blowing shows presented by the extremely talented artists affiliated with the Corning Museum of Glass are a thing of the past. Hollywood Hot Glass is a revenue generating replacement.
  18. From the Celebrity website: Celebrity FAQ - Gratuity Program What is Celebrity’s automatic gratuity program? An 18% gratuity will be added to all spa & salon purchases onboard. https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/gratuity-program
  19. Source: Gluten Free Travel Blog Celebrity Cruises makes a note of a guest's gluten-free needs at the time of booking and then has all gluten-free cruisers fill out a "special needs" form prior to the trip. A "special needs" representative will then contact you for more details if needed. You will meet with the dining staff on the first night of the cruise. For more information, call Celebrity's Special Needs department at 866-592-7225 or email them at special_needs@celebrity.com.
  20. From Celebrity website Healthy at Sea: https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/accepted-covid-tests Providing Your Results On Departure Day You will present your negative test result at the terminal upon boarding. Print out your results for easy access, as you may need to present it at various points. We will also accept a valid results document presented on your phone. If you receive a positive test result on your pre-cruise test, please call us at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide so we may assist with rescheduling your cruise vacation plans. Hope you will not need this information, but good thinking to be prepared.
  21. I booked a port day cut & blow dry for short hair on our Edge cruise shortly before our departure date. The charge was $81 with gratuity included, so about the same price as jelayne. I had plenty of time to get my hair cut before our cruise - however like 81Zoomie I really enjoy the experience of looking at the ocean while getting the full salon treatment. Definitely worth it! (Think of it as an early/late birthday/anniversary/holiday gift to your wife.)
  22. DH wears colorful Hawaiian shirts with khakis for dinner and a silk "no-tuck" shirt with dress slacks on Evening Chic nights in the Main Dining Room. You will see men in jackets in the Caribbean, but they will be in the minority. Your TA seems to have a very incorrect view of Celebrity - might be worth asking how the conclusion of rather formal was reached.
  23. Driving vs. Flying? If driving directly to port, when leaving home. If flying in before cruise, when leaving hotel before heading to pier.
