  1. I wear my vaccination card. I use a lanyard for my car and house keys, since I need the fob to get into my building and mailroom. I attach a plastic sleeve to the lanyard with my vaccination card and DL in it. I started doing this when we had to show the card when entering restaurants during the latter part of the pandemic. I just never took it off. Wallets and purses can be lost and stolen, but a lanyard around my neck and under my clothes stays with me. Thanks to @firewife09 for the reminder to get my updated digital vaccination "card" from the state. I forgot to do that after my second booster. I see no reason why a digital vaccination data would not be accepted, since it comes directly from the state. But, I would call the Healthy Sail Center number: 800-256-6649
  2. Frankly, I think both the online menu I posted, and the app menu are "sample" menus. But, I guess they give an idea. I think it also can vary from ship-to-ship.
  3. Correct. Under Restaurants, once you tap the ship icon and then the dining icon below.
  4. This doesn't work for a solo cruiser. I find the refundable deposits are in the hundreds of dollars more, so the NRD and a potential change fee of $100 is best for me. I always make sure I use a points-generating credit card, too, so I get 200 points for the charge. It adds to the points bucket, and eventually I will use those points.
  5. It's always been your prerogative to spend your money as you want, and within RCCL's policies. I never blinked an eye at making changes: they were getting my business and money anyway. But, I stopped cancelling cruises decades ago, even when the policies were liberal. My primary objective was to go on a cruise, so why cancel a cruise and start over? My former TA taught me this: just move the deposit to a new cruise. Now, I'm more cautious, and look for some way to get it back, as mentioned above.
  6. I had a VB on the Navigator from 4/27 to 5/13. I really like the cabin. The view outside was like having a giant window, and the chair / ottoman was right next to it. At night the curtains are pulled, so no light comes in as the sun comes up (unless you want it). The only problem was if the beds are put together, the corner of the bed is up against the corner of the desk, and the phone is on the nightstand on that side.
  7. This is undated, so YMMV: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/menus/solarium-bistro-menu-sample.pdf
  8. My thinking is if I booked a cruise, I will never cancel it, BUT I will move it to another one with a $100 change fee. If the new cruise's itinerary is more attractive, or the pricing is less, or a friend asks me to come along, I will pay the change fee. I don't make a regular habit of this, but I don't avoid it, either. Depends on the situation. Example: I moved a cruise a month ago to another one to sail with my friend. Paid the $100 change fee. Today I got a $99 price reduction applied.
  9. Twice in my case I switched to another ship/sailing because a friend asked me to come on the cruise with them. The prices were a little lower, so the budget didn't take the full brunt of the $100 charge. One of the change fees was paid from a card where I had a credit balance from an RCCL refund. IMO balking at the change fee is a "nose vs. face" type of scenario. To me it's all about the bottom line.
  10. Best to move the cruise to another one and pay the $100 change fee.
  11. Go to your Cruise Planner, look at All Dining, click on Izumi Sake and Sushi lunch, and then Reserve. It will give you the day(s) it's open for lunch, and you can reserve in advance. This way you know you can eat there, and not have to guess about it, or be disappointed.
  12. Two suggestions: If possible go early for breakfast and lunch, wherever you go. If you stay with MTD, you have more flexibility with the time you eat, BUT stick with the same time, table, and waiter. By the third night you can just go in and bypass the line. The podium manager at the entrance will help you.
  13. I meant this page to be a jumping off place that showed the different options. I never recommended it for booking. Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. If I were writing a scientific dissertation, I would agree to exhaustive research. But, this is a travel board, and YMMV.
  14. I always get the same cabin for b2b cruises, and I tell the cabin attendant to not clean my room on turnaround day, but put extra towels in the bathroom. The room will be cleaned the evening of day 1, anyway. I use the turnaround day to just relax, unless the embarkation port is a must-see, and I want to get off. If I do this I find something to do that keeps me busy until at least 1pm in the afternoon. I make sure I'm reading a good book, because there is some wait time when you're doing the turnaround process on a b2b, and getting back on the ship. Then I get a snack if anything is open, and go to my cabin. The corridor doors to the cabins are not locked, and if asked, I say I'm b2b and going to my cabin. I will spend the rest of the morning relaxing, listening to music, reading, doing email. As soon as my account is closed from one cruise, it is reopened when I get back onboard, and I can get access to wifi again. Then, when I'm hungry again, I go out and have lunch. (Some people will substitute "pool deck" for "cabin").
  15. I usually book b2b cruises for the itinerary. I look for repositioning cruises, and then look at the one before and after. I like to cruise when the itinerary changes. The best I've done recently is the Vision b2b combining it's 11 and 10 night cruises for 3 weeks. I've also booked a transatlantic, and either taken the last cruise before the TA, or the first one after it.
  16. The price I found was based on a large group. For a smaller group, or 2 people, the bus or train is the lowest cost option. The prices have gone up significantly since I posted in April 2021. If you get a hotel near the Piazzale Roma, there is a transportation hub there. Here is a web site that gives transportation options: https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Piazzale-Roma/Ravenna
  17. My philosophy is every dollar I can save is another dollar I can put toward the price of another cruise.
  18. The doors to the cabin corridors are not locked. You can go to your new cabin once back on the ship, and tell anyone who asks that your back-to-back and going to your cabin.
  19. One last suggestion: got to the Meet and Mingle thread for your cruise and see if anyone else is having this problem, and may have a solution.
  20. You have been hacked by your cell phone...........................
  21. I was referring to seeing the details in the app while onboard, and should have mentioned that. I throw the statements away when I get home, since I'm only interested in the total, and I keep track throughout the cruise.
  22. If you mean the number of drinks, it shows in the detail of your onboard account before it's close, with a zero charge. Usually shows up the next day. If you mean the actual drink order (e.g. Bahama Mama, etc.), I've never seen that. Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. If I were writing a scientific dissertation, I would agree to exhaustive research. But, this is a travel board, and YMMV.
  23. Look at the calendar and see if MTD is showing up as an event every night. Also, I agree it might be closed as a pre-cruise purchase. You can call RCCL and ask about it, too, to see if they can. Look at the bottom of the purchase page for the Customer Service link. Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. 24. Holy WOW, you were on the Jewel for 18 YEARS???? I'm impressed.......😁 I know, I know, the H is just below the Y........ Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. 25. I found an annual policy was less expensive than separate trip policies if you are cruising multiple times in a year. However, I don't buy high value medical coverage. Be sure to check coverage provided by your credit card.
