  1. I book on board with an appointment. The two I booked on the Navi and the Vision had my TA shown in the paperwork. I emailed them, and had their invoice emailed to me.

Loved the entire drive. The object being I am recommending a tour of the Amalfi coast, knowing that Sorrento is along the drive.
  3. My mistake. I thought Celebrity Elite Plus translated to D+ on RCCL. I would still recommend the "schedule" I posted. I have done laundry in a foreign country in a coin operated self-laundry, ending up with foreign coins I didn't need, and taking the time to do it all. But, if one chooses to do this, I recommend packing laundry sheets to avoid having to also buy detergent.
  4. I was on the Navigator in February, and almost every crew member I talked to had their contract expiring in 2 weeks. Every single one of them did NOT want to go home. When they started last October they hadn't worked in over a year, and they wanted those extensions to make up for lost wages. One crew member said RCCL was going to keep crew members whose flights could possibly be impacted with the Ukraine invasion, because so many European airlines were reworking their schedules. Many connections go through Europe. Each ship is different. The management has a lot to do with morale, not just the long hours, etc. The Vision crew in March were ecstatic to be back sailing again; very happy crew.
  5. Your first statement here: that's why the dear boy has been on my ignore list for years...... I have standard travel items I always take. I packed them into my single large suitcase and weighed the suitcase, subtracted from 50, and that's the weight of any clothes I take. I suggest one of you do a free bag of laundry (for the both of you) on day 2 on the Vision. Then, do another on day 6. Start the free laundry bag again on evening 1 on the Summit, and then another freebie mid-cruise. This should get you to where you only have to pay for 1 bag of laundry toward the end of the Summit cruise. I put anything knit in the bag, plus the usual undies, etc. It's the heavier fabrics, or clothes that need special handling I'd avoid. If you wear knit long shorts, they can go in the bag, too. Since you are traveling in hot weather, the thinnest undies you both can take, the more you can fit in the bag.

I took this excursion in 2017, and it included Sorrento and Positano. Wonderful day! https://www.viator.com/tours/Naples/Daily-Pompeii-and-Amalfi-Coast-tour/d508-18971P1 I'm not one for quick driving from place-to-place; I like to see the scenery, and this tour hit all the right notes for us.
  8. I won't book guarantee cabins on b2b cruises, because once I'm unpacked I want to stay in one place. But, the OP's savings is significant. In this case I would pack accordingly: keep everything in packmates or containers, so it's easy to pack for the switch. But, that's me: I am not a minimalist packer.

It's not Sorrento that's so fabulous, it's the drive there. Most tours include Positano and other stops along the way aong the Amalfi Coast.
  10. I've been to Ephesus, Pompeii, and Delphi: all three on my "Top Ten" list. Alfaeric is correct above.
  11. Your opinion. But, since you weren't on the call with me, and you didn't hear the multiple times he came back with more information, I think declaring him "definitely confused" is a stretch. He was quite diligent and wanted to answer the question accurately. And, yes, as I stated above, this change in policy appears to only affect changes, and not cancellations.
  12. Except that he was reading the new, unpublished policies, and consulting with another department about it while I was on hold. We don't know what's in the new policies, even though I believe you are correct. I think the 5/31/22 date is related to some other portion of it. We'll all see when it's made available.
  13. That's what the D+ desk at C&A told me after he read the latest update to their change and cancellation policies. I'm just the messenger. Once they actually have something on their web site, we can all read it for ourselves.
  14. Happened to me in March on either the Vision or the Jewel (one of them left from Pier G in Miami). My porter told me which door to go to for disable entrance, but I don't need that. When I saw a man walking sloooooowly with a cane, I stopped him and told him to go up to the other entrance. The line was waaaay behind me, and I was waaaay away from the regular entrance. I don't know how that man would have made it otherwise.
  15. He DID! And, he was eating, so the whole package was pretty off-putting.
  16. I have paid the $100 change fee under some circumstances. Twice I did so to book a better itinerary, BUT the per day price was better, too.
  17. I've always avoided cancelling a cruise, and try to move it to another cruise. This way I'll pay the change fee, and now as of 6/1 I KNOW I want to do this for sure. I misread original post, and thought the lost deposit was on ship and sail date changes for some reason.
  18. I called C&A today. I was told the CWC policy is ending on 5/31, as stated above, and the cancellation/change policies would revert back to pre-pandemic. FCCs will be gone, and the $100 change fee per person remains.
  19. OK, to be perfectly honest: I was taken aback by the guy in the Diamond Lounge wearing these: He looked like he was wearing his underwear at first glance.
  20. Yes. We used to get all fired up about what to wear in the main dining room, then it was "will grandma make it through this pandemic without dying?", and now it's "who cares what we wear, WE'RE CRUISING AGAIN!!!!".
  21. It's weird, actually. It's like mask mandates are lifted, and people act like it's all gone magically away. The most recent variants are MORE infectious. But, they aren't killing as many people. My thinking is why would I want to DELIBERATLY make myself sick if I don't have to? I just wear the mask when needed. Simple, no drama, no nothing but take it off when the crowd thins out. Oh, and keep Bath and Body Works PocketPac hand sanitizer in strategic places to remind me to clean my hands: the car, the kitchen, the desk drawer, etc.
  22. None of those anvils are falling on my cruises, unfortunately. I'll keep checking. As a matter of fact, one of mine didn't even show up at all......that's good for a mini-panic attack.
  23. The main dining room wait staff REALLY want to replace the dinner. I've never had a problem at all. I find I have an entrée that's under or overcooked about every other cruise, so it's not a real habit.
