  1. Our cruise (12 November Sky) has been sold out for many months. We have been trying to convince my Mum to join us, but not likely as it is still sold out :-(. If we can convince her, she may need to join us in our suite.
  2. Thank you @antmaril that is very helpful from someone who has actually been in the standard bungalow. I am wondering why they do not mention air conditioning in the description as this might be nice if it gets too hot. hopefully someone with actual experience with the sanctuary bungalow might be able to confirm their experiences and if the extra cost is worth it.
  3. Thank you, I had seen these which is what prompted me to post my question. It was the sanctuary description (compared to the non-sanctuary description) that concerned me. They are very different. The sanctuary costs more but based on the excursion page description has less service which does not make any sense. I was hoping for someone with actual experience in the last year who might be able to confirm.
  4. I have read ALL of the reviews and descriptions that I could find (on multiple sites). I was hoping someone on here had personal experience rather than just referring me to online reviews.
  5. Does anyone have any experience on the Sky? We are in an aft corner suite on the Dolphin deck. Sea days are the most critical since we plan on spending a lot of time on the balcony (avoiding crowded indoor spaces), but we may spend some port time on the balcony also. Only 8 weeks to go so we will find out soon for ourselves, but it would be nice to have some recent views.
  6. Thank you @Wishing on a star. We have been to Princes Cays multiple times, but never stayed in a bungalow. I am asking for comments from someone who knows the details of the service provided since restart in the different types. YouTube videos and older reviews imply there is air conditioning, but the description on the excursion page do not mention this for any of the bungalows. The description of the main bungalows contains a lot of items not mentioned in the Sanctuary description so am curious if these are still offered in the sanctuary bungalow or if it an editing issue in the description. Since the sanctuary bungalows cost more, I would assume they would have more service, not less.
  7. We would like to book a bungalow for our upcoming cruise and are curious about the differences. There are just 2 of us and we would like to avoid noise and children if possible have booked the sanctuary bungalow. I am a bit worried that the descriptions of the 2 bungalows are very different. The normal bungalow description mentions a ceiling fan, table and chairs, staff to order drinks and orient you to the area, and motorized transport to the bungalow (plus a few other things). The description for the sanctuary bungalows does not mention ANY of these items. I am wondering if we would be better off in the main area since there may not be enough staff to support the sanctuary. We have a sanctuary bungalow and are the waitlist for the main area so am not certain what to do if we have the option to move. Do any of these have air conditioning or is it just ceiling fans? Does anyone have any relatively recent experience?
  8. Thank you. Hopefully we will be able to board before the MDR closes.
  9. Thank you. Yes this is the cruise. I thought there may be extra inspections required. We may still go early just in case it is quick, but be prepared to wait 2 hours. We were hoping for lunch in the MDR, but if boarding does not start until 13:00 they might not open the MDR since I am reading that it usually closes at 13:30
  10. On our November Sky sailing, the first boarding group is listed as 13:00 at Port Everglades. I thought boarding usually started around 11 or 12. I expected to see the first group listed around 12 noon with the hope boarding would start a bit earlier. Has anyone else seen a case where the 1st group is at 13:00, but they board before noon? We were planning on arriving around 10:30 or 11:00 for priority boarding hopefully around 11:30. We do not mind waiting an hour, but would prefer not to wait 2 hours. It is the first Caribbean sailing for the year so am not certain if that makes any difference.
  11. Mini suites have been available since I started with princess in 1999. Club Class mini suites are new. I think these are the same rooms but in the better locations (based in princess standards) and come with club class dining. We do like the extra space available in mini suites.
  12. I need to go to Lidl today. We love Malbec. I have never seen one that inexpensive so am a bit worried.
  13. It is also the quality of food/cooking. In Sabitinis they are cooking for a dozen people at a time (usually less) so it is cooked to order and more care taken. In the buffet and MDR everything is cooked in bulk and kept under heat lamps until served. I do agree that the buffet and MDR have a great selection and the food is not bad. It is just better at the suite breakfast.
  14. I would assume it will still be available since you would pay full price for the new room if you are waitlisted. With bidding, princess would probably get less money.
  15. I have to admit, I am curious about the advantages of the concierge lounge. We will be in an aft corner suite on Sky in November and it never really occurred to me that we would use the lounge. When we need time out to relax I thought we would enjoy our balcony and look at the view of the wake. We have made all of our dinner reservations at speciality restaurants for 3 nights and will use club class dining for the other evenings. The only thing we want to try to book onboard is the Winemakers dinner if they have one. There is so much food everywhere you look onboard and we have our mini-bar and premium drinks package so would not go for food or free alcohol. I would love to hear opinions on why we would go to it if we do not want the food or drinks. After reading reviews here I would like to try it one evening, but my DH may need some convincing.
  16. Free speciality restaurant on first night of cruise. We love crown grill.
  17. I had a similar quick response from the UK about 2 weeks ago. Shocked it was leases than 8 hours but very happy.
  18. Thank you. It does have a UK number to contact a "Personal Cruise Specialist" which may be equivalent.
  19. Does none know if princess has CVPs in the UK? We always book direct, but am wondering if there is another way apart from a TA?
  20. I love the idea of all of the extras in the sky suite, but really love the wake view of the aft penthouse suites. I think Princess may be missing an opportunity to allow any full suite passenger to keep their suite but upgrade their package to include the extra service. Depending on the cost, I may have done it for our upcoming cruise.
  21. Thank you. You may be mixing up a normal suite on Sky Princess and the Sky Suites on Sky Princess. There are 2 Sky suites where you are met and escorted to your suite, have butler service and a lot of other perks in addition to standard full suite perks. We are in a aft corner Penthouse suite. Lots of perks, but I do not think it includes a personal escort. I guess I will find out in 90 days. it would be nice if we can get to the room early to drop off bags, but we are not expecting it. We are usually in balconies, but did splurge for an anniversary cruise 4 years ago on the Crown and had a full suite. Looking forward the the experience on the Sky princess
  22. Thank you. We are not too worried about access to the cabin. It is our first cruise on Sky princess and we would love to spend time walking around and then going to the MDR for lunch.
  23. Thank you. Since we are the first cruise from Fort Lauderdale after a trans Atlantic reposition cruise, my guess is there may be a higher chance of an inspection.
  24. What is the earliest that people usually board (port Everglades). We would like to get on board as early as possible, but do not want to spend hours waiting in the terminal. We are in a suite so theoretically should have priority boarding. I imagine check-in may take us a bit longer since we will need to pick up medallion at port since we are from the UK. This is our first cruise in 4 years, but I seam to recall 11 was when they start.
  25. Did you send all details that are needed? I sent proof of ownership last Friday morning and had a response the same day in the afternoon (this was the UK office). The OBC appeared online in my payments section at the same time. My cruise is in November. I would suggest sending again. Maybe the first email was lost. I sent the following details in an email - redacted copy of proof of ownership (attached to email) - My full name - Cruise ship name - Sailing Date - Booking reference
