Dani- So very sorry that your dear friend had a stroke.
I am hoping that PT and the stay at the rehab center will help him greatly toward a good recovery.
I am certain that the care and concern that both you and.your DH give him will aid his recovery.
Wishing blessings for him and you and DH.

@h20skibum Maybe Graham @grapau27 could explain that expression about a chimney?

@h20skibum Just checked that post you mentioned. It was locked , then quickly went poof.
It was an interesting post, for sure.
My DH and I are Platinum level on Princess , having taken about 15 cruises with them. We enjoyed every one of them and met some very fine people on each cruise.
I think you will enjoy the cruise you selected, especially as it is an inaugural cruise.

Well, your photos are definitely not indicating that the ship is sailing at capacity
Just curious. I assume you are an early riser or extremely patient to wait until there aren’t any people in your photos.

How are you getting photos of the ship, Cocoa Cay and Nassau areas without people in the photos?
Thanks-MJ🙎🏻♀️

Hoping W’s Mom is doing well.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
The amount of cash you take with you depends on your tipping habits, spending for extras and a consideration of having emergency funds.

It was multiple shooters including two juveniles who are in custody. It sounded like a gun fight to me which my first thought was a gang issue as the firearms were pistols. This is now being investigated as a possibility. Yes, it sucks that large events and public places have become the horrible targets of a mental health issue we have in the US.
Sometimes I wonder why I brought three kids into this evil world. Thankfully I live in one of the safest states in the US, but this crap can happen anywhere these days. Makes me sick.
“Two juveniles”!!!!!!!! “gang issue”!!!!
WTH?

@island lady Concerning that particular cabin for your cruise-here’s a thought.
If you just were starting that cruise and you hadn’t heard about the death, would you be wary of being in that cabin?
Surely not.
When going on a cruise or staying in a hotel, there is always a chance that a former occupant has passed away in that cabin/room. No way to know unless you were privy to some information. Usually that is not the case though.
There will be others staying in that cabin before you embark on the ship again.
If I were you , I wouldn’t think about it too much and enjoy the cruise.
Or, perhaps you could call RCCL and ask for a another cabin or an upgrade.

Snowy day here on Eastern LI.
Schools are closed. The plow just went up and down the street.
Our local pharmacy called about a delivery that was scheduled for today but has been cancelled. Will deliver tomorrow. Totally understand.
But, Amazon just made a delivery.
Totally unnecessary given the snow in the driveway and front walk. I feel sorry for the Amazon drivers being sent out in these conditions.
Hoping everyone experiencing the storm is safe and warm. Wishing everyone a good day.

@Slainte57 I am not sure if you continue to read posts here, but add me to those who appreciated your uplifting photos from your walks. It was a relief from reading complaints about a job, frustration with life, dealing with a drinking problem and an overall sad view of life.
There is so much negativity in the world today, that your posts were beautifully positive and helped others try to have a positive outlook too.Your posts will be missed by as they were appreciated by many here.
Perhaps you could start a new thread on the Floataway forum. That may become a more comfortable place for you to post your photos and thoughts.

Glad for those rooting for the Chiefs, particularly @Sea Dog Greg.
I was rooting for the 49ers by default as I really wanted the Lions to be in the SB as they had a good season and they were considered to be underdogs.
We watched the 2nd half and thought Mahomes and team would pull out a touchdown in OT.
I am not sure why the 49ers didn’t have better coverage of the end zone in that final play.
But in the end one team would win and the other team would loose.Mahomes will continue to be a formidable player who the other teams will have to deal with next season.
As for commercials- Nothing stellar seems to have gotten my attention.
I did think about the commercials for AI and Scientology. Different for sure.
State Farm was pretty good with Schwartzenager and DeVito focusing on the accents, but I hope they keep the young fellow who has been doing their commercials for awhile.
Another commercial that had a good amount of airtime was Temu.
A younger friend told me that they are becoming competitors for Amazon and are based in China. Anyone know about this company?
Wishing all posting here a good Monday.
Hoping those with storm predictions do not have much of the white stuff to deal with tomorrow.
Long Island may get an inch or two.It is Winter though.
Hoping those with cruise plans to escape the Winter have safe travels and enjoyable vacations!
Have a good day all!

@Minuet888 If you want to see a particular Broadway show, I would purchase tickets ahead of time.
Sometimes you can get tickets the day of the show at the theater box office , but that is taking a chance as the show may be sold out or have limited seating. There is also a TKTS booth in Times Square that offer discounted day of performance tickets, but the choice of shows may be limited and there is usually a long line.
I would stay near the airport. You can commute into NYC from Newark.
There are no hotels in the immediate Bayonne port area.
You would have to go to the hotel first after landing in Newark. Usual check in isn’t until 3 or 4 PM. You could ask if the hotel will stow your bags while you go into the City. The front desk or concierge should be able to give you directions to travel into the City.

@palaemon There is a review of the Venezia posted here by @Jamman54
Maybe you have read it.
There are good photos and insights about the ship in his review.
Do you plan to post about the Carnival cruise you have chosen?
It would be interesting to read about that cruise experience from
someone who has cruised with various lines.

Looking at the photos of the interior,I would say that Icon is some ship !
Design looks futuristic with some touches of Deco design ie- the sign for the Pearl Cafe.
@FromSea2ShiningSea That is a lovely cabin. Do you have an easy chair and a sofa?
The views will be fantastic!
@Ozark_Kid Post photos when you have time and some jokes too !

Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Bethany, will you post here about your DC trip?
I went there on a three day trip with my HS class as a Junior in 1969 (!).
Over the years,my DH and I made several trips visiting friends who lived in DC and nearby Virginia.
We attended a wedding in the church where JFK’s funeral Mass was held with a reception following at the St Regis. It was in mid July and the heat/humidity was challenging.
Planning a trip in the Spring is a good decision- weather wise at least.
Wishing you safe and enjoyable travels.
