  1. It is included with the Princess Plus package and the Princess Premier has unlimited premium desserts. I just booked a cruise today with the Princess Plus Package and will get 2 premium desserts per day.
  2. Thanks for posting this. I hope the wifi on the ship is good enough you can continue posting.
  3. From $16 to $20 is a 25% increase way more than inflation. I'll let my checkbook do my talking and cruise with other lines. If they all fall in line with this ridiculous increase, then I'll simply go back to doing all-inclusive land based resorts.
  4. Normally when I cruised with NCL I would pre-pay the DSC and then I would leave an additional amount in the cabin every day for the cabin steward. With this 25% increase in the DSC I will probably quit doing that. For that matter I wonder if I will be cruising with NCL in the future. I just completed a cruise with Carnival in September and was impressed with the food and the service. The entertainment not so much. I have a future cruise with Princess next month, and another cruise with Holland in June. NCL pricing has me moving away from their cruises.
  5. Maybe in the future the cruise lines will have a new ride using lifeboats on their new megaships. Something like this would be interesting.
  6. If you go from the East Coast to the West Coast your cruise will be three hours longer. In reverse it will be 3 hours shorter because of Time Zones.
  7. The river cruise in Puntarenas is excellent. We did the river cruise on our Panama Canal cruise a few years ago and the number of exotic birds and crocs we saw was outstanding.
  8. My question is do they ever test lowering the lifeboats with a capacity number of people on board? I believe the lifeboats on Quantum of the Seas have a capacity of 370 people. Full capacity would probably be around 60,000 pounds or more and it seems to me that 30 tons could put some serious stress on the lowering equipment. My other question is how many passengers could realistically fit in a lifeboat that has a capacity of 370 passengers.
  9. That's good to know. We will be on the Diamond in Jan for the Hawaiian cruise with my sister and brother-in-law.
  10. I'm sure the passengers who witnessed this weren't inspired with confidence in the crew. 😁
  11. Here's a video of the incident that happened on Dec 1st. I have no other details. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5B2SD7HFFBQ
  12. The 10 day cruise basically gives you three extra days that are sea days. The 10 day cruise goes to Icy Point Strait while the 7 day cruise goes to Ketchikan. It's your call.
  13. I've enjoyed Priscilla both times I was on the Epic. It is not a drag queen show, it is a show about three drag queens traveling the outback in their tour bus (RV). It's a great stage production and it's your loss if you won't see it because of your prejudices.
  14. With UBS upping the target price of Carnival from $8 a share to $16, the stock has been on the rise. I don't have that many shares and the main reason I bought some was simply to get the onboard credit. I bought in when the stock was under $10 and my return so far is $100 this past September, and then $250 this January, and another $100 in June.
  15. Two days ago it was 81 degrees and set a record for high temp. This morning we received the predicted "dusting" of snow.
  16. Anytime I am logged into a cruise website and check for cruises I always get a call the next day. NCL, Carnival, Holland, and Princess have all done this.
  17. I’m looking at an Alaska cruise out of Seattle on Jun 17th on the Eurodam and under the current “have it all” promotion my cost to pick my own cabin on deck 6 would be $1869 pp. The have it all includes a $500 OBC per cabin, a $100 per person shore excursion credit, the drink package, a specialty dining experience, and free Wi-Fi. I’d be willing to bet that $500 OBC will disappear or be reduced so they can include the Crew Appreciation in the Black Friday Sale.
  18. In my case our cruise is on Jan 6th and we would be in Maui on the 15th, so holidays don’t play into this. Also the tour operator is still in business so I don’t understand why the excursion was cancelled. What ticks me off is Princess didn’t even bother to notify me in an email. I discovered it by accident when I was checking my credit card. I’m still waiting for a call back from Princess.
  19. My Trilogy Catamaran Lahaina Sail in Maui disappeared from my travel summary. I didn't get any notification from Princess either. Instead of refunding the full amount I paid with my credit card they refunded $50 back to the promotional onboard credit and the remainder back to the credit card. Not happy about this.
  20. Those studios are very small, I would definitely go for the inside cabin, especially for a Transatlantic cruise.
  21. Depending on the type of lifeboat, the ones on the NCL Epic have a capacity of 293 and 267 passengers. I can’t imagine how crammed that would be. I was surprised to see that emergency rations are stored on the lifeboats. No bathrooms on lifeboats, all the more reason to pack a couple pair of adult diapers for the cruise.😆
