@Lois R there is a high pressure system over the UK over the weekend and into next week so the weather forecast is looking good for you 😁

I would be happy with either but have the bath/shower combo - just didn't want an over bath shower as the only option and that looks bigger than the shower we had on the Seabourn Ovation 😁

@A Tucson Guy there will be a few on the other board that shall not be named 😜 but you are correct, only a small proportion of cruisers have heard of CC and only a few of those actually post anything.

@Kalskruise we will have to hope that a cruise critic member has one of the 'bath/shower' suites and posts some pictures 😁

I just did the same @CDR Benson but last night (well very early this morning) but what was worse, I was booking for another couple too so the pressure was on 😱. We like to eat at 8 and wanted to book in the first week so we knew which restaurants we enjoyed in order to book again in week 2. Not many 8pm slots for 4 people so have managed one at 8 and two at 8:30. Then it was showing availability at 8 so cancelled 8:30 but the 8 booking was only for 2 people so back to 8:30 😂😂. I have the email confirmation and they are showing on both our accounts so 🤞🏻

@Gilly and @labonnevie on the info for this trip it talks about wearing old clothes because of the dye - is that necessary?

@SLSD we have stayed in quite a few historic UK hotels without air on and many will provide you with an electric fan if you ask (I usually email to ask if they can put one in the room )

@lprp thank goodness you were flying in a day early as (according to this evening's news) there is still going to be a lot of disruption tomorrow - will keep 🤞🏻for you and will look forward to reading your report.

Lucky you re petrol (gas) prices - it's nearly $7 a gallon in the UK at the moment.

@Gilly thank you so much for your ideas. The reviews of the HOHO don't seem great so we might take the subway and then choose some things to see and either walk or tube between them. We were considering a bike tour but the people we are travelling with (Regent 1st timers 😁) might not be so keen. We are landing much earlier than originally planned so if we don't drop from exhaustion, hoping to see as much as we can perhaps into the evening so we can see Tokyo lit up. just been reading your Okinawa blog - I may have to donate my place on the military excursion as their booking hadn't gone through. There are still some places on the bingata one though. I know where to find my bedtime reading now Thanks again 😁

@Gilly did you go over Takanawa way whilst you were in Tokyo? It looks like the HOHO passes quite close by.

There are music channels but we downloaded our own. There were a significant number of crew from Southern/South Eastern Africa on Ovation in July, all of whom (or at least those we came into contact with) were lovely, engaging and friendly.

@m'ellen it is a Regent organised hotel so the transfers are included too - it's just for the UK (and perhaps others) Regent are 'forced' to give us overnight accommodation. We arrive at 7:30 am so plan is dump bags at hotel, drink lots of coffee and do 'something' in Tokyo. Probably train in then either a walking tour or HoHo to see the main sights. Very early night, relaxed morning then join the Explorer 😁. Hotel looks OK, we were a bit concerned we may end up under a bridge or in a shipping container 😜😂😂. Also looks relatively close to cruise port.

@Pcardad it is just the way Regent refer to it 😁. They are 'forced' to provide us with accommodation the night before not that we are 'forced' to take it. It is basically the same as the 'free' overnight but perhaps not quite the same standard of hotel.

They have disability legislation as a requirement of being part of the EU - whether that is implemented is another matter.

Thank you everyone for your replies and Catlover54 for the floor plan - would be very happy with that. On our recent Norwegian cruise a hot bath after getting soaked was a joy although as this one is Singapore to Hong Kong, hopefully the rain won't be as cold 😜

Because we are flying from the UK we have been provided with a forced overnight (only have a superior suite and 1 day off Silver). We thought we might be in a shipping container but have just had the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa come up as where we are staying. It seems to be a train ride into Tokyo central. Has anyone else stayed here or in the Takanawa area? Any hints or tips 😁

Most of the Nova Veranda suites seem to have the large showers but we have booked one which also has a bath. When we booked no one was quite sure whether these were over-bath showers or a much smaller (than the non bath verandas) separate shower. Has anyone seen inside one of these bathrooms (or are you about to - lucky people) and if so, could you please confirm which configuration it is. Many thanks

We have the shuttles on our excursion list too but no option to book. I am assuming we will either book onboard or just rock up to the shuttle.
