  1. I will try and post a review when I get back....I always enjoyed doing those! Ugh, not what I wanted to hear regarding the comedy....we like the shows, but I dont want to waste time standing waiting for them!
  2. Oh, I will keep this in mind for sure! I hate crowds and chaos.
  3. Fantastic, just the kind of tips and secrets I was looking for! Thank you!!
  4. Thank you Joe....it feels good to be back in the planning action. I can't wait to step onto a ship again.
  5. Me, Pirate! Just pulled the trigger on 3 sailings....Mardi Gras this Nov, Celebration next March, and Spirit next Nov. Whoo hoo, I'm back in action! So.....those who have sailed MG< what kinda tips/tricks/secrets ya got for me? I have never booked this close to sailing before, I feel like I don't have enough time to plan and research!
  6. Have gone out of there a few times, love it being an easy drive from our place in WNC. Hopefully they can come up with something else that is convienent!
  7. Those sound amazing! We are debating on doing our first NCL cruise and I love seafood, and eggs Benedict, that would have been right up my alley!
  8. Celebration all the way! I love the Southern itinerary, and it has 1 less port which means 1 more sea day to explore the ship. And if it is cheaper than MG for the same cabin, and a newer ship....well, for me it is hands down the winner!
  9. On the buffet......hmmm, we don't eat at the buffet often (if I forgo the MDR I usually hit up the deli), but I do remember on one of our last cruises there was this WONDERFUL beet and raspberry salad at the salad station when I went to make a side salad to go with my sandwich. It was absolutly AMAZING! I wish I had gotten a bigger portion, it was so good!
  10. I have successfully done this, and what I found helped was: *roll your clothes...they take up a lot less space that way! *wear your sneakers on the ship, and pack your flip flops/sandals. *if taking a hoodie/jacket (I tend to get cold easily so I always take one along) tie it around your waist instead of packing it....they take up a lot of space! I always have my carry on and a beach bag with handles/straps that goes over the top of my luggage handles, so it is almost like 2 carry ons. Between those two, as well as utilizing the VIFP laundry benefit, I managed to pack for a 6 day cruise with no checked luggage.
  11. Oh man, I love the taco salads from Blue Iguana, that is my go-to lunch spot! Hope they do indeed bring them back.
  12. Darn, that is our closest homeport! However I do have to say the setup is less than ideal. Maybe once they redo the terminal they will contract with Carnival again...
  13. I think I am going to! We have been doing some land vacations since all the craziness began, and that is the plan for this year, and I have the Sunshine booked for next fall and spring 2024, as well as building a new house, but I think I need to sneak in a Mardi Gras cruise too! Haha.
  14. I'm late to the party, but better late than never!! Enjoying your review as always, Jeff! Makes me want to sail on MG. :)
  15. Oh my gosh OP, I just read this review during my lunch break at work and realized how lucky I was when I missed a step and fell on the Lido steps a few cruises ago and my ankle turned sideways. It hurt like hang for a few days, I can only imagine what you went thru! Glad they got you fixed up and you had good care at the hospital. After my experience, and reading this, I will be looking into travel insurance for our next cruise! Hope you have a good recovery.
