  1. This is just a heads up about "reservations" for anything related to your cruise. We booked a "cruise, park and stay" hotel for the night before our cruise on Prima May7th. I needed to "modify" our reservation times for the shuttle to the port. I called the hotel and there was NO RESERVATION in our name. Thank God I called. We booked through a 3rd party who is closed on the weekend so the hotel is going to get back with me on Monday. Moral of this issue....always double check important reservations. Not sure what we would have done that day had we gone there and found out there was no reservation for us. I'm sure we would have figured it out.....but who wants to start their cruise that way. ugh!
  2. I don't use the store bought throw away wipes....I have a dish cloth soaked in alcohol....dripping with alcohol. There are no germs gonna live on that. The baggy has about a 1/4 cup of pure alcohol inside it. I disguard it after about a week and make a whole new one. As for people washing their hands in the restroom, I was questioning a poster when they said they didn't see many people wash their hands before serving themselves in the buffet........I mentioned that people usually wash in the restroom.....meaning "how would anyone know if someone washed their hands in the restroom or not? ".
  3. Now I understand.....you meant that there was no "hand sanitizing dispenser" person there inforcing passengers to wash up before entering? Not good! Ever since Covid i carry a freshly washed hand cloth that is saturated with alcohol in a baggy and it's in my purse at all times. I use it frequently when out and about. I wipe down grocery carts, and definately use it on my hands when touching frequently used surfaces like door knobs and hand rails. It may be "over-kill" but even though Covid is less of a concern I am going to keep this way of protecting myself from germs. Even with all that...I still got Covid 2 times. So there's that. That said, I won't be one of those unwashed people at the buffet. LOL
  4. Thank you for your review...we sail in 2 weeks and I am going to try to ignore all these complaints but it may be hard. That said, I do have to wonder about one thing you said, "I did not see a single person wash their hands prior to serving themselves at the buffet. NOT ONE." How would you know that? I mean most people wash their hands in the restroom.
  5. Sure, many people want to cruise on a NEW ship.....that's the reason we booked the Prima. But learning about all the complaints here on CC, I am sorry we did. Booking Prima due to it being new is going to get OLD. And people will seek out reviews before booking it. We sail away in 2 weeks and I am going to get on board and try to forget all that I've read here and try to obtain my own perspective.
  6. So now they want YOU the customer to pay their emplyee's wages because they don't want to give them a decent salary. Sorry but it is not our job to donate to the cause. I serviced about 300 people a day as a banking customer service rep....making sure all was well with their accounts. I didn't get extra pay or tips for it. I got a salary.
  7. I feel your pain! Freestyle does not feel like freestyle anymore to me. Too many people for too little available seating on these ships...leaving us very stressed trying to coordinate diners with shows. There is no list of show times so we can co-ordinate our reservations if booking them online. Not to mention that dining reservations open up earlier then show time reservations so what's up with that.....how can we figure it all out? 3000 people are not ALL going to be happy.
  8. Just thought I'd pass this information along......A number of cabins have views of the slides: The Rush and the Drop run past them, obstructing their balcony views. If you don't want an obstructed view or are concerned about the noise of guests plummeting down the slide, avoid these cabins, which might be partially blocked: 16190, 16192, 16790, 16792, 15196, 15198, 15796, 15798, 15300, 14190, 14192, 14300, 14792, 14790, 14900, 13208, 13210, 13808, 13810, 13900, 12210, 12212, 12810, 12812, 11212, 11214, 11300, 11302, 11812, 11814, 11900, 11902, 10214, 10216, 10300, 10302, 10814, 10816, 10900, 10902, 9216, 9218, 9816 and 9818.
  9. I personally think these service charges are getting spread too thinly around the entire ship for "indirect" services. I have no problem tipping those who "directly" service me. I do have an issue with all the "behind the scenes" workers who should be being paid a significant wage for the jobs they perform and their wages not dependant on the passengers. I mean, when I go to a restaurant at home I tip the waiter and or bartender....I don't add extra to tip the chef, the diswasher, the prep cooks, the house cleaners etc. That is going beyond what I believe is over-kill. Just my thoughts on the subject.
  10. Now that should not be allowed. I blame the cruise line for letting this happen. There should be signs in all the restaurants and buffet to not take up seats if you are not eating. Read your books somewhere else.
  11. I hope you are kidding. Why in the world would anyone go on a cruise to just sit at a table in the buffett all day? Makes no sense! But if you are not kidding then I think those people need to be told to move on.
  12. Are you allowed to transfer them to another person? I so you might be able to sell them. I'm sure you already thought of that.
  13. We likely wll go to the Main Dinning room for breakfast....just not into the challange of finding a seat with food being cold before you find it, to start my day.
  14. I was thinking the same thing.....some excursions go out before lunch hours and return after lunch hours. Granted we won't starve, but surely they should have something substantial open for passengers. I personally think the buffet should not close till 11PM at night and open back up at 6AM.
  15. I can't imagine it to be all that difficult for them to extend the hours in the buffett. I know they need time to get ready for each meal time but if other ships have longer hours then it's doable.
  16. LOL...with most all restaurants not opening until 5:30 there were no compatible times left for the shows unless we wanted to schedule our dining late and the shows early. We don't like eating that late. They don't have the shows every night just certain days. In any event, we generally don't go to bed until around 11, 11:30 when at home so it's not to bad for us.
  17. I was able to make reservations for our May 7th cruise on the Prima for both MDR's. I read several post of people who had reservations and advised to do so because sometimes during peak hours the wait can be up to 30 minutes etc. I am not sure what peak hours are but I just decided to make the reservations just in case.
  18. Too bad that site won't let you read it unless you subscribe.
  19. Too bad we can't buy liquor in powder form. LOL
  20. Thanks....I don't do cannabis. I just have 2 pescription meds and a ton of supplements. I guess I will just use my pill minder/organizer then. Thanks again.
  21. Boy does it ever pay to "call back" if you want "different answers". I called right back and got better show hours for those 2days. 9:30 for the Price is Right and 10PM for Donna Summer. So bottom line.......if it didnt work the first time, try try again! LOL
  22. I still could not book online after logging out, so I called and they had 1 available for Donna Summers on the 8th at 6:30. That conflicts with dinning reservations. That is not a good time for a show for us because we'd be eating dinner way too late. And they had 1 available for the Price is right at 7pm on the 12th that also conflicts with dining. Ugh. I wish they would open up the restaurants earlier than 5:30, like 4 or 4:30, so one could make it to the early shows. I don't want to eat at 8 or 9 o'clock at night. Oh well....I will see what they have available once on board. Thanks for all your advise. I appreciate it.
  23. Thanks.....I tried it at midnight and it was not letting me reserve. ugh!
  24. It was my understanding that they opened up booking shows online if it was at least 21 days before your cruise. What happened to that ability? I wish they would be more consistant with all this. I dread the thought of racing to the box office to get in line to book a show. And we would not have to race to do that on PRIMA if we were not competing for seating. Since I've never been on this ship all I have to go by is other peoples experience....too many complaints of not being able to reserve a seat a few hours after boarding. Never had that problem on any othe ship.
