Just in case my daughter in law's passport does not arrive in time.....do you absolutely have to have one to cruise to Bermuda and back?

So it sounds like NCL has many hiccups getting this installed and up and running on their ships. I have to wonder why??? The Joy going into dry dock should be the perfect time to have it installed....my luck it won't be. We are booked for June on the Joy. I can live without it but I talked my son and his girlfriend to book this cruise...they are heavy internet users so I wanted it to be a great "first time" cruise experience for them.

I am not a big fan of the BIG ships with more than 3K people so I've been leery about our cruise on Joy with 4k people....wondering if we will feel the crowd in every corner. But your review eased my mind on that. Your review was so refreshing....thanks again!

I personally think these boxes should only be checked by the "passenger" when booking and not already checked by NCL for the passenger to "uncheck". Sneaking if you ask me.

Joy will be going into dry dock at the end of January into Febuary. Not sure how long. Anyway, Does anyone know if they will be installing "Starlink" during this dry dock? It would be a great opportunity for them to do this. I did read that NCL will be doing this to their ships in 2023 but I have no idea if they started yet or what ships may already have it. Anyone with any of that information?

If you do not drink alcohol then why would you include the "free at sea" beverage package? That one is for alcohol not the soda and coffee. You can get the soda and Starbucks package without the added cost of the alcohol service charge just unclick that one.

Reading all this I have to wonder if our Primary doctor would perscribe Paxlovid to take on our next cruise as a precaution in case we tested positive. I'd hate to pay $800 for something I can get here for free. I might ask him.

Which is why I will not be adding the beverage package if only one out of 3 of us would use it. I will pay for my drinks individually and save a lot of money that way.

I meant that they flew in for their Disney week, and then flew out to go home with Covid. Sorry I didn't explain that right.

Friends of ours took their entire family ( 6 adults and 5 kids ) to Disney World this past week. They all flew in and flew out with Covid. The kids were a little sick on their last day there and they didn't really think about it being Covid until they got home and one by one they all ended up sick and tested positive.....all of them are vaccinated. One ended up hospitalized and so far doing OK. You take your chances being in crowds, airplanes, elevators, long lines, busses, and theaters....that's life now. It's hit or miss. I've had Covid 2 times so far. But I came home from our cruise in May completely well...no sickness at all. It's the luck of the draw and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.

We are booked in a Penthouse suite on the Joy for next June. When we booked it I was unaware that they took all those amenities away because I viewed a YouTube tour of that Penthouse that a Travel agent posted a few years ago.....when those perks were included. That said, the cost is significantly higher than the next level down balcony yet they never reduced the price. We are still going to keep the cabin because it will be 3 adults and we really need the space but I was very disappointed about the perk issues and that they were not taken away on other ships....Why the Joy? If it were not for it being 3 of us I would have canceled it.

My disabled brother who has a seizure disorder and cerebral palsy takes medications for his siezures and cannot drink alcohol ever..........I am his caregiver...he lives withus and we will be taking him with us on our next booked cruise....it will be 3 of us and I am the only one who drinks. If I can't get at least him off the beverage package with a doctors note then we won't be getting it at all. Way too much money for just me drinking

So let's add "more people", "more additions that cost $"....less open space, less entertainment for kids, more competition for dining reservations and shows and since the Thermal spa has no pool why would I want to go there?....the pools in thermal spas where one can find room and peace away from the hoards of people are an extention of the overly crowded deck pool so this Joy Thermal spa is not very inticing to me.

Yeah....Seems to be a "mini thermal suite" to me...with no pool. Although I've never booked a day at a thermal suite so what do I know.

I'm not all that upset about losing the Galaxy or the Lazer tag....but I think this ship already has enough passengers. More cabins ='s more passengers...making the Observation lounge smaller so less seating...more people ='s less available seating ect. A Termal spa is a good idea. I also don't think this ship needs more Vib space. From what I hear it is never crowded in the one they alrady have. How about something new for the kids or another entertainment venue for movies, a piano bar, or another free all night restaurant.

I forget how a kindle operates....I have one but have not used it in years. That said, I would go to Amazon and have it removed from your Amazon account.....just in case someone took it and is using it.

I think the only cabins that got those perks taken away were the "Balcony Penhouse suites" on deck 14. We just booked one of those for June 2024 on Joy and found this out a little while go...kind of dissappointed since they never lowered the price.

Well....I'll pass on the wings for now. My go to at the Local is the Hot Dog with sauerkraut and bacon......yum!

Wow...I was unaware of that. I will have to speak to our insurance agent who never told us about this plan when she sold us Bankers Life. The only thing she kept mentioning was that if Medicare does not cover neither does the supplement plans. Thanks for sharing that.

Wow....we have Medicare and a supplement with Bankers LIfe. It is my understanding that supplemental insurance only pays the 20% that Medicare does not cover. Medcare covers 80% of all cost and the supplemental pays the rest. That said, the supplemental will only cover what Medicare covers. So if Medicare does not cover anything outside the US then neither will the supplemental. I am wondering if you have "Medicare Advantage" and not the basic Medicare with a supplemental? Medicare Advantage pays more in many situations.

There were times when I'd order my main entree and want to taste a different one and would ask for a "small portion" of it. I really can't eat 2 whole entrees but I do like "tasting". So that's how I do it..........or you can ask for 2 or 3 "small portions" of 2 or 3 entrees or appetizers. etc....however you like it.

Especially since not too longer ago....no matter what you ordered from Room Service there was NO CHARGE at all...however, the menu was nothing to write home about then.
