  1. If you want to see excursions in the app, select Spa, and then change the header at the top to Excursions. Since it is just pulling up the website cruise personalizer, I would just go through the website.
  2. I think the issue is which cabin you’re picking. If you pick the lowest cabins available, the total is $4534 CAD (and $4308 CAD for the guarantee). At least that’s what I see.
  3. So much sugar though. I wish Princess had diet tonic available. Will probably bring some on our next cruise.
  4. We did this in 2014, and had no issues. We rented a car in Skagway and drove to Whitehorse for the day to visit family.
  5. If there were no liquids allowed, how would you bring aboard your allowed canned beverages or wine? Also, I’ve never seen food not allowed - seems odd (packaged not fresh, which could be a customs issue).
  6. Logout, close the app, login again. Your cabin will reappear. It is not an upgrade, it is a glitch.
  7. I had that once, and thought maybe it was an upgrade (it was not). Suggest you sign out and close the app, then reload the app and sign in. When I did that, my cabin showed up again. So, for me it was just an app glitch - nothing more.
  8. On our Crown Princess 10 day in August, our port goals are modest - one inexpensive attraction (under $50pp) and one beer at the local craft brewery. So far I have scoped out one in each port!
  9. You will be able to have any drink up to $15 (and pay only the difference above $15). You will not receive free desserts or fitness classes unless you pay to upgrade.
  10. The official schedule indicates 4:30pm https://www.portvancouver.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/2023-Cruise-Ship-Schedule-as-of-April-25.pdf (In some cases the larger ships will not leave until low tide, but will show an itinerary departure of 4:30pm, as you will need to be onboard by then. The schedule linked above will show the actual departure time)
  11. FYI - Casino age is 18, so 2 can spend their money there.
  12. Just be very clear that you booked a guaranteed BA cabin, and they assigned you a BD cabin. Don’t get too hung up on telling them it was guaranteed mid-ship, as they don’t understand that - they think in terms of category only.
  13. Following up to add that I’ll probably make sure I have one in each currency going forward.
  14. So they know which nights to book (or not) as specialty dining? Some folks care, some not. If you don’t, you likely aren’t able to help.
  15. I have a FCD in US$, and recently booked a cruise in Cdn$. Unfortunately I could not apply my FCD. Maybe you’ll have better luck.
  16. We end up with ~500 points or so from slots, and receive discount offers. The Alaska discounts for this summer were substantial (US$50 pp plus fees/taxes) for a 7/10/11 day cruise. We booked a mini-suite on a 10 day cruise in August for CAD$1000 total. (~200pp + fees/taxes).
  17. Does anyone know when the summer 2025 itineraries for Japan will be released? The Diamond Princess has a schedule leading into March 2025, but no summer yet. It looks like summer 2024 was only released early 2023, but I have to think that was because they were restarting, and wanted to make sure they could sail. Most of the other areas of the world have been released, so I am hoping it will come soon. Anyone know, or have an educated guess? Edit to add: looked again, and I guess 5 ships have been scheduled (so about 1/3) not “most” as I posited above.
  18. We have used Travelguard for cancellation insurance, and have been happy with the price and the coverage. We have not had to make a claim with them, so can’t speak to that. We typically do not buy cancellation insurance now, and choose to “self-insure” (knowing that one of these days we will need to pay out!). We have medical insurance (x2) through work, so don’t worry too much about that. If I were travelling “off the beaten path”, I would consider Med-Jet Assist for additional coverage.
  19. Decorations, meant to represent that those ships are fitted with gas tubine engines.
  20. Is there a way to tell if you have booked under a casino fare? I saw a great deal when logged in, that we booked (online), but I can’t tell what kind of fare it is (and if there may be any extra restrictions that go along with it).
  21. That a quiet, calm place to have a conversation while you’re at sea, is outside on deck. In reality, it’s usually windy, and can also be quite noisy.
  22. Princess is good about flagging PVSA violations and cancelling the offending leg. Last summer RC had a bunch of people booked on Alaska one leg, and then repositioning to CA on the second leg. Passengers weren’t informed until they were on board, with the options being to cancel the second leg (fly home from YVR) or exit the ship in Victoria and make their own way to Vancouver (plus hotel) at their own expense. People were not happy.
