  1. Booked the cabana today for our November cruise on the Rotterdam. Glad I took care of it as almost 50% of them are booked already. And yes, we did get our first choice.
  2. Call the TA. HAL probably never notified them. Have had that happen to us.
  3. Ask the security guards that you have to pass through as you enter the port. You have to show them ID and cruise documents anyway. There are also large information display boards that will provide the info…have the driver follow the signs. If you had a driver who took you to the airport, you just got a really dense driver.
  4. On the Rotterdam it was a Nespresso like machine. Pods were different. Produced some very bad “coffee”. Better to go to the machine in the Neptune Lounge that made individual cups from freshly ground beans.
  5. No plastic bottles allowed on HAL ships. It will be confiscated.
  6. Our cabana experience on the Rotterdam in late November was wonderful. A quiet retreat and excellent staff willing to do whatever was needed. No lookyloos and no boomboxes. A very well run operation. I’ve booked the same cabana for this November’s cruise.
  7. You need to remember that the person who assists you with check in is an employee of the handling agent and not HAL. You said the error on your account occurred on a cruise in October. When in October? Even if at the beginning of the month the 12 week limit has barely passed. The time frame quoted to you in the original communication is a best estimate and not a deadline for action. Also, we are talking about $11 here. Not a worrisome amount and as frustrating as it is I don’t think it has altered your lifestyle. Choose your battles carefully. As for your compensation…I wouldn’t hold my breath. Bon voyage!
  8. What do you expect. No one was forced to by the pictures. At least they had something. Sorry you didn’t enjoy, but it is about the kids.
  9. Unfortunately, the smoke from the casino drifts down the stairway into the Billboard Onboard and Rolling Stone Rock Room venues on the Rotterdam. It can be quite noticeable at times and kept some people from enjoying those spots on our recent cruise.
  10. Not that I’ve ever seen. I suspect HAL is the wrong demographic and the liability/injury risk too high. I’d suggest looking for an operator at one of the port stops. Good luck.
  11. Ironically, the Elite package was included for our November 2024 Rotterdam cruise when I booked onboard.
  12. Used it with no problems on our recent Rotterdam cruise. Starlink makes all the difference.
  13. Have used the dry cleaning several times. Just as good, if not better than the local establishment that charges more.
  14. Many ports charge a fee per person. This is very common in the Caribbean.
  15. Just checked for our Rotterdam trip in November of 2024…price for 2 person is $700 and I agree is worth it. We had a cabana on our sailing a few weeks ago and it was perfect. Very quiet with quick and attentive service. Will book again.
  16. If the berthing spots are full, then yes tenders are used.
  17. We had good meals in CO, but the worst dessert we had was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. A total miss. Out British traveling companions were completely unimpressed.
  18. Spirits, by nature of their name, are alcohol.
  19. I thought it might be tied to having a Neptune Suite. I’m usually not that lucky.😉
  20. On our recent Rotterdam trip I brought 2 bottles of good champagne onboard. Dutifully signed the corkage fee charge slip during embarkation. The charge never appeared on our account.
  21. Just off the Rotterdam on Sunday. Used both FaceTime and WhatsApp with 100% reliability. You can thank Starlink. Neptune concierge told me that since it went online they have gone, just in Neptune Suites, from 3 or 4 complaints about internet connectivity daily to about one per cruise.
  22. Ours started at 9:30 at BB Kings.
