I just checked my cruise planner for my Nov Navigator cruise and some of the beverage and dining packages have gone down in price -- not by much though.

No automatic adjustments -- you have to call and ask.

Mariner Passenger Overboard Rescued

What's amazing is the 42 year old woman who went overboard did not require any medical attention at all, according to the news reports. They say only 28% of those that go overboard survive. She's very lucky! -
Photo Packages - What do you Really Get?
livingonthebeach replied to Monkey0313's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I've purchased the 10 pack and it included the pics they took when exiting the ship at ports and all of the onboard photos but not the specialty restaurant photos. -
Back in the day if you had Elite status in their Captain’s Circle you could bring your cabin mates to happy hour / no questions asked.

Princess has an older crowd and better food in the MDR. If food and older people is to your liking then go for it.

Have you done Northstar? Opinions, please.

I did the free version on Odyssey over CocoCay and it was awesome. Looked like we went up higher than the expensive hot air balloon ride. While it was fully booked, there's a good chance you can walk up and ask if there are any cancellations -- if you're lucky like I was you're in. Enjoy your cruise! -
The low during the lock down was $19.30 -- if you bought it then you'd be sitting pretty since it closed over $86 on Friday. I bought some in the $30s and then some more at $60 ish. I get a $100 OBC for every cruise plus I've made beaucoup $$$ -- it was worth the purchase for me -- YMMV.

Booking flights well after booking cruise
livingonthebeach replied to sadiwest's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes -- I also have a June 2024 booked and am waiting for flights to open up. For that cruise, I'm arriving in Barcelona and departing from Athens. I'm definitely using Air2Sea for that one as I don't want any major snafus -- not saying they can't happen but Air2Sea has always made good for me, YMMV. -
Specialty dining lunch on boarding day

I'll be on Navigator in November -- only Jamie's Italian is open for lunch on embarkation day -- no Chops. -
Booking flights well after booking cruise

The advantage of using Air2Sea is that if flights are cancelled they make sure you are rerouted in order not to miss your cruise. I have used them on several occasions and have been very pleased. You might get lesser cost fares yourself but the added security of not missing a cruise is well worth any additional fees, if any, IMO. -
Booking flights well after booking cruise

I find Air2Sea to be the best fare for repositioning cruises - i.e. going to one airport and returning from another. -

They hired Van Fleet soon after Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida called for a National Transportation Safety Board investigation after Anthem sailed right into a hurricane in 2016. “The thing about this storm was that it was forecast for days. So why in the world would a cruise ship with thousands of passengers go sailing right into it?” Nelson said from the Senate floor Monday. “I want the (NTSB) to come up with answers very quickly and make an admonition to mariners: When the storm is brewing, you don’t go out of port.” I don't believe Carnival or NCL have sailed into hurricanes, and they don't have a staff meteorologists.

Has anyone else wondered this?
livingonthebeach replied to Tntt's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My last cruise on Rhapsody OTS was a total disembarkation nightmare!!!!! We were held up by Customs and Border Patrol like for forever!!!! It had to do with the ship's first US stop since Covid -- it had been home ported in Barbados since the restart. No facial recognition for us and a bunch of questions to boot. Well, not only immigration held us up but there were other agencies that inspected the ship -- it was the worst, like a four hour nightmare!!! Many people missed their flights. I will think twice before doing a repositioning in the future. -
Odyssey vs. Oasis class
livingonthebeach replied to new2cruising2006's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I loved discovering Odyssey and didn't miss any of the O class stuff. What fun riding the bumper cars and all of the activities surrounding Playmakers. With the UDP it was well worth it. Not to mention the Music Hall and 270! You'll love, love, love it!!! -

Thanks! I'll be there next year. Did you take an RCI excursion there or did you venture out on own?
