  1. HI L, We, meaning B.C. and Canadian citizens have been able to get our B.C. and federal vaccination records for 1.5 years to just under two years ago. Simply sign into this website, https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/vaccines/vaccine-proof/get-canadian.html have your B.C. Personal Health Record number, (On the back of your drivers license, or simply your card card number, and also have one of the dates that you have received one vcaccination, sign into this website, enter that information and voila, you have your federal vaccination record.
  2. OMG there is a web based version you don’t need a cell phone I do not own a cell phone. Why be so stubborn just go to your computer and type in under Google Arrivecan. If you have truly been vaccinated there is nothing to fear. Just try that on your computer. I have faith in you that you can type that in Google. Arrivecan. Why not free your mind.
  3. Exactly, That is what they are asking for your official government issued vaccination record, you upload your vaccination record, the official one, whether from your state, or the place where you received your vaccination, all you have to do is upload that to either the Arrivecan APP, or the website Arrivecan. Once that is uploaded then when you enter Canada you no longer have to show your vaccination record. It is one and done.
  4. To ensure people who visit Canada are vaccinated. If it is taking you more than two minutes to fill it out then it is operator error.
  5. Steve if the coffee is lacking for you, in the crows nest, deck 10, there is a pay coffee bar which maybe more to your liking. Glad the staff is good for you. Sounds like your off to a great start.
  6. Are you talking about the zpn or zpm code
  7. For me, if it is a sea day, I will just have fresh cut up fruit for breakfast, lunch maybe go to the Asian station and just get a protein and vegetable and for dinner usually have two appetizers and maybe a salmon, I eat better and healthier on a cruise ship then at home, we are active on the cruise ship, walking back and forth, doing the promenade deck, we get less sleep than we do at home as we see the night shows and we still get up early so don't want to get drag down by the carbs or overeating. If we are on a port day and going off the ship I would have a made to order omelet for breakfast and also the fresh fruit. We do eat three meals a day. If we are hungry late night will get stuff like pizza or potato chips
  8. We did 28 day Fall 2018 on the Westerdam to Japan and China. Had a great trip. Westerdam is a great ship. So glad we went, however I wouldn’t go there now in that area even if offered a free cruise. Due to current situations around the world we are sticking close to the equator and south of it for our next two long cruises. We also have a Mediterranean booked. We had a Baltic for this fall, that is no longer a Baltic cruise that we cancelled.
  9. Hey Steve, you might already know this but in case you don’t. You have free access to Club Orange restaurant through Neptune Suite benefits. At 4:00 pm in the Bill Board on Board they bring out hot snack items. The area where the snacks are is on the left back side of the room as you walk in. They have great cookies at the Dutch Cafe, if interested go before 2:00pm or else they will be gone. New Your fries has great sandwiches. If you ever want a late night snack in your room, they have take away pizza boxes if you order pizza at New York Deli. Bet you had a great sail away.
  10. I bring my own hair shampoo and conditioner. For some reason the stuff on the ship dries my hair out. Don’t like the hand lotion either, way too oily for me. I even bring my own bar of hand soap and container of hand lotion.
  11. My next cruise is Princess, I book a ships tour (this will be 5th Princess cruise but first ship tour) the tour is $69.95 each and was only charged a deposit amount of $19.95 on credit card Balance due on ship. I thought that was pretty great. I do have $200.00 OBC, I check the OBC after booking the excursion and still is $200.00.
  12. We use flight ease, and have no problems. Payment due at final payment. Can go in anytime once booked and go in to see if prices have gone down, also if there are additional flights. Can also cancel the flight no charge before final, (make sure you select flexible).
  13. Nice, have a great trip. Will be nice weather this weekend in Vancouver.
  14. Thank goodness you completed verify. I wonder how long it took the people to board that didn't have verify done.
  15. A better approach when calling customer service might be: I am of an older age and I am not comfortable with current technology even though I have tried to use current technology I don’t understand it. This leaves me really frustrated and I am sorry I am taking my frustrations out on you. I think the best option for me going forward is to use a travel agent as they can help me with my booking. I know you are doing the best you can with old farts like me. I hope you have a great day. Thank you so much. perhaps try that dialogue.
  16. Actually that is not correct. Your digital device is so old that some browsers will not be supported anymore. It is not Princess, they have to update their website. Just get a newer device. I also have older devices that still perfectly work well and are not supported by current browsers. Just get a new device.
  17. Have a great cruise. One thing that was not mentioned was Arrivecan. There is a web based version or an APP version. You sign up online and can preload your proof of vaccination as well as your travelling document, I.e. passport or Nexus. Three days before your trip you can enter in your travelling details. You will need to do two Arrivecan submissions. One for your flight arrival to Vancouver. Then a second submission for your arrival back to Vancouver after the cruise. The gov’t realizes wifi is hard to get on cruise ships so for the arrival back into Canada after the cruise you can enter those details three days before the cruise starts. After the cruise your enter back into Canada is by marine. Do both submissions on August 3rd, (three days before your trip) as you are embarking August 6th. You will get a QR code which will be also tied to your chosen travelling document.
  18. Just getting caught up, great review. Belated Happy Birthday greetings to your mom. Love the pictures, you sure are travelling in style. Never saw a pinnacle suite before. Hope you all have a great cruise.
  19. Wow, great photos. Sounds like your having a great time. So nice to have your granddaughter with you. Thank you for the review.
  20. The receipt is attached to your passport. It would be similar to receiving an electronic visa, I got an electronic visa for Australia, no one ever saw that visa as it was attached to my passport. If you have Arrivecan done for your trip, the Canadian border services don't have to see the QR code (your receipt) as they can tell by the passport number that you have done it, the cruise ship would like to see it before you embark so they know you have done it, they don't have access to the information that the border services have. The border services has access to the passenger manifest, they would advise the ship which passengers have not completed Arrivecan. Arrivecan is very simple, takes all of two minutes.
  21. That is exactly what we do, we have done it twice. We self test about about 8:00pm if we are negative we set the alarm and get up about just after midnight so like 12:10am, by the time we set up the test and call in it is about 12:12am she can tell where we are calling from but we ensure she has the date and time that we need, so my husbands goes first and after he uploads his results, then I call in and do the test it is all done by 1:00am. It is just one less thing to think to do during the day. So if we cruise on a Sunday for example we will do the test (antigen) (on Thursday night after we go to bed), we will get up at 12:10am on Friday.
  22. I was on the April 2022 cruise to Hawaii on the Koningsdam. I went to the crew talk the one with the head engineer, he advised at that time that Koningsdam was going into drydock in March 2023 ( he wasn't exactly sure which day in March 2023. He said amongst other things they are planning to put a library in where the microsoft classes used to be held. I advised the person who keeps track of the drydocks on cruise critic of this already I believe at the end of April 2022. It should be on the list already.
